When creating a homebrew monster, for damage adjustments, we should be able to create our own.
For example, I want my monster to have 'Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Metal Weapons - Resistance', but all it can have from the damage adjustments is 'Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Metal Weapons - Immunity,' and it will not let me create my own type.
I also wanted it to have water vulnerability, but it would not let me do that either.
I am kind of disappointed in the limitations set by DNDBeyond and the lack of room for personal creativity.
It would be nice to help clean up the modifier section/conditions. I was looking to make a weapon that granted an additional spell slot for a wizard or sorcerer, but could not find a way to do that, or to add a condition like a spell.
I'm trying to make a homebrew item that adds +2 to ranged damage and it currently seems impossible. I can add it to almost every type of weapon damage, including "melee weapon attacks" which is a very broad range, but for ranged it only has longbow and shortbow as options. What about crossbows and thrown items? I even tried adding "+2 Piercing" but it didn't seem to take effect on the character sheet for some reason, where it did take effect with "longbow" or "melee weapong attacks".
Boosting since I didn't see an answer or decent workaround for this. Are there any plans to fix it so you can add damage to ranged weapons that aren't longbows or shortbows? I'm trying to make a magical item for my gunslinger and can't find a way for the item to boost his damage as well as his attack rolls.
If possible could you guys remove leading spaces in names of homebrew content. For example, a lot of people are making homebrew spells that have a leading space in the name pretty much just to get it on the first page of homebrew spells. That seems like it could lead to bad things. Especially since if you then put two leading spaces you would then beat out anyone who had one leading space etc etc so on and so forth. Its hard to see which might be why it slips through but if you copy the names into a textpad you can easily see there is a leading space.
Could you trim any leading spaces when they save the homebrew content? And trim any current leading spaces on names? I can't think of a legitimate reason for a leading space to exist in one of these names, but maybe someone else can.
I acknowledge I might be wrong and this might be intentionally left this way by you guys as well. Just throwing this out there.
As I was creating an item for a character in a homebrew campaign I noticed that while I can add spells, even custom ones to an item I can't have that item, grant the user a custom action, or even an action. It feels like this should be possible since you can program a custom action into a character sheet. Is this something might be possible to do at a later date?

It's my understanding that the developers intend to extend the flexibility of homebrew feats to homebrew magic items at some point.
That sounds wonderful, the homebrew has needed a bit of a revamp for a while now, it has so much potential. It will be nice to see what they come up with.
You can't create custom languages in homebrew, but you can manually add custom languages (and other proficiencies) to any character sheet by clicking the gear icon in the bottom of the sheet's proficiencies box. This is about the only workaround.
You may want to indicate in your custom race's language feature that the language must be added manually to the character sheet until, some day, custom languages are supported.
I know I've seen this a few times, but I too would like the ability to create non-magical items such as gear. We are converting our current 2nd ed campaign and characters over to 5th addition and there are a lot of items that we've had to create. Many of them are non-magical and we have not been able to add them to DnD Beyond or we've had to create a "magic" item to replace the item in question, but this gets messy when its something you can carry more than one of (such as an arrow) but it only lists one time on the equipment list. This would also give people the ability to add specific spell components that they would like to track.
1: A way to implement something like Abyssal Fortitude, (Your maximum Hit Points increase by half your Level [Minimum 1]) so that the Character Sheet knows what to add to your HP maybe may 0.5 a valid number for modifiers?
2: Complete controle over Weapons, no Base Weapon
3: A better way to implement something like RAGE, no modifier (+dmg) is shown, would be neat to have a button like "active/inactive (atm I have build an item to add the Bonus dmg)
4: Implementation of Lycantropie? (very specific will explain later)
5: Bonus to specific dmg types (all your fire spells deal +X dmg)
to 4: Lycantropie is "often" splitted in 3 Forms, Humanoid, Animal, Hybrid. The hybrid and animal form should be different. (hybrid has +10 movement, animal has +30 climbing) as it is now, the is no way a single item/feat/abillity or what ever can do 2 different things, so you need to of them. My solution here would be a button like mentioned in "3" or something like it. I know this is super specific, but I think a soulution like that could Maybe Benefit a lot of things.
Hello, when I try to create a homebrew feat there is the option to "Use an existing Feat as a template:". However, the drop-down list of options only shows three possible template feats to choose from: Firearm Specialist, Grappler, and Svirfneblin Magic. Is there a way to use other feats as templates when creating homebrew feats? I'm specifically interested in using Tavern Brawler as a starting template.

Sounds like you don’t have any purchased content here on DDB, as the feats you list are the free ones. (From Matt Mercer, the SRD/Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Player’s Companion, respectively). You would need to purchase the feat you want to use as a template. That should work: I have purchased the entire PHB and Xanathar’s here and canuse any of those feats as templates; I think it should if you just purchase an individual feat.
I just encountered the error below when creating a homebrew feat with limited uses at different levels (1 per level). It seems to always apply the lowest level setting for limited use rather than the highest, so when I go above 1 use I get the error. Any ideas if this is a bug?

How do i add homebrew creations to my homebrew campaign for the characters to use?
All homebrew created or in the collection of each participant of a DDB campaign is automatically shared between all players
Born in Italy, moved a bunch, living in Spain, my heart always belonged to Roleplaying Games
So when making a custom race, there doesn't seem to be a way to add a custom named language... am I just missing this, or what?

Currently there are no ways to browse homebrew Sub-Races

Thank you! I have purchased all the feats on an old account, is there a way to transfer them over to this new account of mine instead?
Click on the contact us link under support at the very bottom of the page. They might be able to help you with that.
