As the development continues beyond release, more homebrew options will definitely be added. At this time, the extent of the options that will be available are still being determined.
Allow the storage of an incomplete homebrew item as a draft. Taking a slot as normal and all, and obviously not publishable or usable otherwise.
It's just that spending 20 minutes on typing and editing and deciding details on, say, a monster, and figuring out you're late, or it's late, or someone comes by, or your motivation dwindles, etc etc, copying all that work over to a text file or something an unnecessary (and very tedious) step. I know the Constitution field is required for the monster to be complete, but it shouldn't be necessary to save everything else until I can get back to it. :p

You can save these items and come back later to continue editing. These items remain 'Private' until you choose to publish them, which you aren't required to do at all. Private items can be used in your campaigns with the players you share them with. Please, use these as draft-able objects while you perfect your creations.
As someone who extensively homebrews in his home games (I love Adventures League and I will admin it to death at conventions, but I like to play a bit more fast, loose, and cinematic preferably), will there be an option in the future to include the ability to integrate Drive Thru RPG purchases with D&D Beyond?

I have not heard anything regarding an integration with them as of yet. More details will unveil relating to potential integrations/vendors as we grow closer to launch. We will need to watch for those announcements to come.
For my campaign, I really need something that will allow me to modify/homebrew pretty much everything. Races, classes, combat, etc, It would be easiest if the core content could be used as a starting point, and changes made from there. I really like what I see, but I have a lot of modifications to the rules.
Tried editing a homebrew monster created via a template, but when I tried to delete the skills it has (as editing skills currently comes up with the Forbidden page) it turned up an internal server error, no other details than that though.

Correct - the database is currently under some hotfix maintenance to clear up a few access/saving issues. We're hoping that it's wrapped up shortly so that smooth creation can resume. Sorry for the delay!
There seems to be a rather significant bug in the duplication feature that allows users to duplicate content that should not be freely available (seemingly everything). I've tested with Green-Flame Blade, Bigby's Hand, Beholder, and Blackrazor to double check. When selecting from the category menu, it seems to fill all options in the second menu regardless of permissions.
Please can you add the ability to add homebrew race and class in the character creation as I would love to try the app out in my campaign but I am playing an Aasimar Blood Hunter, Aasimar arent on the app and the Blood hunter class is homebrew so I cant use the app. Please can you add this. Also baclgrounds would be good to add.
Great to see both phases released at the same time – thanks!
Unless I missed it, it would be great to include in the homebrew content any homebrew rules, that would allow users to input any additional rules the playing group has decided on, or even rule clarifications the playing group has agreed-upon (when it's not 100% clear in the core books.)
In our game, we have a handful of homebrew rules, as well as a decent amount of clarifications we've made to the rules as written, when they weren't 100% clear in the core books. However, just like the "real rules" we don't always remember what we decided on. By being able to search for something like "stealth" and not only see the rules as written, but also our addendums to that rule, I think would be a great help. Thanks!

No, no. I know you can keep something private - but you have to finish putting in all "required" fields to even save it ("Create" it); for monsters, those are a lot.
It's not an important issue, obviously - you can just put in a number on each field in a jiffy. Just wondering why you can't save ("Save Draft" instead of "Create Monster", perhaps) while required fields are still missing.

Just a quick question that is probably very specific to a small number of campaigns, will the ability to create custom races ever be added?

One thing I'd find useful:

I'm not quite sure where I'm supposed to be putting this, but it won't let me edit speed.

Hey, could we get a duplicate function on homebrew things? It'd be nice to edit or update an already-created thing.

Could there be a space for non-magical homebrew items, like exotic weapon, new tools, new vehicle, etc.?
Dunno if this is a known issue yet or not but:
Tried editing a homebrew monster created via a template, but when I tried to delete the skills it has (as editing skills currently comes up with the Forbidden page) it turned up an internal server error, no other details than that though.

Cool, I'm used to the Forbidden page coming up but Internal Server Error was a different one so I wasn't sure if that one was expected or not.
