Hello all, I am currently trying to make a Monk Subclass that involves ranger abilities and tracking, one feature i wish to add is Favored Enemy. I have worked out everything up until the options within options. For example, when you choose humanoid, you can then choose two humanoids in that sub section. Only, i need to create an option for each individual humanoid, meaning that the sub class feature can not pick two of them. It seems to be missing a 'Choose a Humanoid' option. Or even an option within the option section.
What I have had to do with a similar subclass but for barbarian is make a separate feature that has options that can only be chosen if a requirement is met, in this case, the option humanoid has been previously chosen. This will look really weird on this subclass' page, but it functionally works.
The first feature will have the option of choosing a creature type like you probably have it. Then, sense there is no way to (currently) add options within options, make a new feature that has two options that have the "PREREQUISITE CLASS FEATURE OPTION"'s set to the option Humaniod from the first feature. Unfortunately, doing this makes the overall page look weird with a blank feature, but it functionally works. It may also appear in the character builder for the player as a feature that's highlighted blue, but without options to choose from, just a heads up.
On an unrelated note, anyone notice that the HB community has been without community requested updates since WotC was considering buying out Dndbeyond?
Hi, for some reason when I’m making a Homebrew race and I go into traits and add a new one I sometimes forget about the box at the bottom with granted/additional/replacement and when I click on save changes or something it deletes all my stuff. It’s really annoying, is this supposed to be like this or is it a glitch/something wrong with my machine. Please tell me if I’m doing something wrong.

It's not just your machine. It's incredibly frustrating.

Personally having difficulty navigating this thread, apologies if this has been brought up before. Just checking to see if there's been any progress in the implementation of Homebrew for basic items/equipment; opening up the ability to craft new weapon & armor types into the game without treating them like magical items.
Also looking for feedback from the community on how they create non-magical homebrew items for their campaigns.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and am grateful for constructive feedback on these ideas.

You can create custom items and custom actions directly on your character sheet.
I'm currently building a homebrew Warlock subclass, but can't figure out where or how to add spells that are always known & at will casting. I started with a copy of the genie subclass as this subclass is based on a Dao who fancies themselves a goddess. I've also created a character to test the subclass with, and that's how I know the spells aren't showing up where they should be. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Correction, the added spells aren't showing up in the character sheet

Warlock subclass spells are neither “always known” nor are they cast “at will.” They have to be learned and require spell slots just like all the other Warlock spells. See:
The Genie lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The Genie Expanded Spells table shows the genie spells that are added to the warlock spell list for you, along with the spells associated in the table with your patron’s kind: dao, djinni, efreeti, or marid.

Gonna be that guy. That doesn't help when you want the item to be available to your players in the inventory list or to be infused by an artificer.
True. I mention that in the video.
But for the specific request of just having something on the sheet itself that works - it does the job.
And while we may get a mundane-item maker at some point, it's gonna be a long, long, long ways off. So this is your best option, still.

I know, but this is a homebrew subclass that has a cantrip for flavor.
I figured it out. Not sure why it wasn't working before, but it's working now.
It can sometimes take a few minutes for changes to kick in. I don’t know how you added the cantrip, but if you did it the way you add normal Warlock spells the. It’s gonna glitch on you. Please see the Homebrew Subclasses & Races FAQ #14 for the correct method (if you need it): (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). That's exactly how I added the cantrip. The rest are added in the expanded spell list so as to not make the subclass OP. lol
