The first time I clicked on the PHB under the compendium (after I purchased it, the DMG, and MM) I got a list of links that was broken up by section in the book. Now, however, it shows me a market place-like page with "View Details" along with prices next to everything. The page tells me that the content is unlocked and I can click the View Details of each but this isn't how it's supposed to be displayed--it's also impossible to navigate. I also don't believe anyone would ever pay $1.99 bucks for Tensor's Floating Disk.
Using Firefox 54.0.1 32-bit
Update: When I click on the DMG or the PHB I am redirected to the marketplace URL. Right now MM goes to the Rules/MM page, however when I try to go to rules/dmg or rules/phb I get marketplace/source/x. The link I'm clicking is to go to the rules pages and not the marketplace pages.
Update 2: Internet Explorer 11.540.15063.0 allowed me to get to the actual rules/book location.
I can't seem to buy any of the books with a Paypal balance.
Tried buying the source books with Paypal: Failed
Tried buying the source books with card: Succeeded
Tried buying subscription with Paypal: Succeeded
Tried buying Legendary bundle with Paypal: Failed.
Any ideas?

I'm also getting this issue in Chrome. compendium/rules/phb redirects to marketplace/source/2 The DMG and MM are working fine though.
In IE and Firefox all three are working for me.
[EDIT] Go figure, it's working fine now. Not sure what changed except I was trying to debug a bit by having the developer console open in Chrome. Oh well, no issue it seems. :)

I also cannot access any of the three core books that I purchased. I go straight to marketplace.
I've attempted to buy the Legendary Bundle a couple times now with PayPal and once I submit the order I get a very generic error message: "There was an error completing the transation."
I was able to subscribe to the Master subscription with PayPal no problem. I did notice that there is no check box to accept terms of sale when purchasing the Legendary Bundle while there was one for the subscription.
Suggestion: Adventures should have two monster bundles: Unique and complete. Right now e.g. the Phandelver monster bundle only has the 5 unique monsters of the adventure in it. What about all the other monsters used in encounters? You'd have to manually purchase those from the MM.
Q: If you buy the full adventure, do you then get all the monsters used in the encounters? Or is MM pretty much a must buy no matter what.

I am having this issue with the DMG, but not the MM or PHB. Legendary pack; Chrome, have cleared local cache.
Is there some way we could get the digital versions for free if we already own the hard cover books? I would hate to have purchased a more expensive version of the same content and then have to pay again to use the online service.

Not an error report, but a suggestion (not sure if suggested elsewhere). Is there any way to preview the content in books? How am I supposed to know what to expect from the Cleric's Death Domain (besides some generic focus on death) besides buying it? I'd love for there to be some sort of description of what the subclass/race/spell/feat/monster is like before buying it. Just a quick description of how it plays would be fine. Is it aggressive, controlling, healing, etc? What is the flavor tied to it? For spells, are they primarily to be used in or out of combat? Are they mostly for damage or for controlling the battlefield? For a race, what types of classes does it lean towards? I'm not keen to spend my money on something sight unseen. I'd like to know what I'm getting in to.
The system seems to be great apart from this! I'd love to see some of (and would likely pay for) the UA content on here, but I understand the difficulty in doing that. Thanks for the service!
What incentive is there for me to use D&D Beyond if I've already bought hardcover books? If I don't pay what looks to be an additional 66% of the MSRP of what I already own D&D Beyond appears to be useless to me and my players. This drives me away from any of the digital products for D&D, it looks like there has been zero consideration given for accommodating the many, many people who bought hard copies already; instead of creating a way for us to access the content we already bought you've turned the digital tool we've been promised for years into nothing more than a glorified paygate.
So again, what incentive do I have to use D&D Beyond? I've purchased the hardcopies of the books; there are plenty of sites that let me track character sheets and adventure logs and homebrew info; I run IRL games, and even when I need to stream someone in I've just used Skype or Twitch. What is supposed to entice me as an experienced D&D gamer to want to use this? This seems only oriented toward brand new players who have never purchased a D&D book and also seems like a way to undermine local game stores given that you are de-incentivizing buying physical books and products with D&D Beyond.
I'm not sure if this is a serious question or not, but I'll answer it as such.
Online access. Books anywhere, anytime. Characters online. Never be without your character again. Sharing with friends around your table and around the world. 12 different people can look up a rule at the same time. Semi-automated record keeping. Long rests reset your sheet. Less weight than all the the books in the backpacks of holding we all have. Cross-referenced rules, monsters, spells, items. So much easier to see what spell a Lich can cast.
But if you are happy with your books, then enjoy the books. Everything isn't for everyone.
I've already purchased the legendary pack, so take my answer with a slight grain of salt. I completely agree with both WhitestElric and PinkRose - I find it very frustrating I am being charged very nearly full price from Wizards, from Curse, and from Roll20 to use the same content 3 times when really the only one who should get money from the content itself is Wizards. I'm totally fine paying something, though - the benefits PinkRose mentions are awesome (and why I've decided to buy the legendary pack anyway), but also that's what the subscription fees should be for. That said, converting the content to digital form is also a lot of effort - but not 2/3s MSRP worth. I get that it will be very difficult to enforce, but I'd really appreciate some way to demonstrate purchase of the physical books to pay $5-$10 for the source material on DnD Beyond, +subscription.
If I purchase a book in this app, do I get a PDF file that I can use on my computer and my other devices, or can I access it only on this website? If only on this website, is there a guarantee or a time limit on access? My thinking is that I have every book I have ever bought.

No - No pdf is provided with purchase.

Here's a copy of the official terms of service:
D&D Beyond Policy
D&D Beyond is a service made available by Twitch at dndbeyond.com for fans and players of Wizard of the Coast’s Dungeons and Dragons game system. From time to time, we may allow Users, via dndbeyond.com, to “earn,” “buy,” “unlock,” “purchase,” or otherwise gain access to certain digital goods, such as packs or add-ons, constituting units of information regarding Dungeons and Dragons (for example, the details of a spell or a particular weapon) for use in conjunction with D&D Beyond tools and/or content. These digital goods may be sold individually, or may be sold in groupings.
By “earning,” “buying,” “unlocking,” “purchasing,” or otherwise gaining access to these digital goods in connection with D&D Beyond, you obtain a non-exclusive, revocable, limited right and license to access the software programs, information, and/or functionality that manifest themselves as such digital goods for non-commercial, personal entertainment purposes only, subject to your compliance with these Terms and any other relevant policies enacted by Twitch from time to time. The purchase price or other cost of such limited licenses is not refundable, transferable or exchangeable including, without limitation, upon termination of your account, upon termination of these Terms, upon the discontinuation of the Twitch Service, or otherwise. Twitch reserves the right to deactivate a User from any Twitch service for any reason or no reason. Once a User has been deactivated, any digital goods accumulated by that User in connection with using D&D Beyond will be forfeited and may not be reinstated.
I think that the marketplace function is quite good. However, I believe that you should get a physical copy of what you buy on there as well as the digital copy. My reasoning behind this is that if the site, for whatever reason, was to go down then people wouldn't be able to access their content. So if that was to happen then you could still carry on running a campaign / planning for your next session / leveling up a character or something if you had the physical copy.
Also what about the people that have already bought some of the physical books, they are going to be paying to do something that they already can, just with a bit more convenience.
