I wish the DM screen were higher. Given that DM's are the ones shelling out the most money it would be nice to have priority. That's the problem though when players are 4-5 times your number and they get to vote as well.
Transfer characters between users within a campaign.
DM can create characters and then transfer to players of the campaign.
Ability to transfer the DM role to another member of the campaign.
Multiple characters per campaign – revise the current limit of 12 characters.
I'm not entirely sure if it was unintentionally overlooked, put under another category, simply not a popular enough opinion to be considered or brought up in a different thread entirely.
But one of my own requests in the thread was to remove the function/limit that "a character can only be in 1 campaign at a time." (you know how it turns gray if you try to add it to another game). That's not quite the same as having multiple characters per campaign, but just as important.
I'm not - nor was I ever - your "obstacle" until you've deemed me as such, nor am I your wallet, my hard earnt money is not yours by deault.

On a realistic level, how could that character be in two places at once? On a practical level, why not just make either a totally different character for the second campaign, or if you are determined, then make a doppleganger and create a duplicate character sheet.

It's not an uncommon phenomenon that a player grows attached to a character, and wants to take him to games everywhere. ESPECIALLY with the AL encouraging commitment to a character. Why be pedantic about removing my character from campaign X to play in Y? What if I want to have 2 or 3 ongoing games with this character?
In my specific game, we're 5 players, all of us players and DMs in this campaign (we're taking turns running mini-adventures).Now, Beyond is amazing so far, but surprisingly inflexible to this sort of dynamic playing.
Half of my friends in this group have trouble navigating the site due to various disabilities (some of them as simple as not being fluent in english), by the way things are now, our DM view our characters because he didn't start the group. If he wants to keep tabs on everyone, he has to get EVERYONE to leave the current campaign, and click on HIS link (which I have to click on first cause content sharing) When the next DM's turn comes up, that DM is gonna have to start a new campaign, and we're gonna have to repeat this process up to twice a month. It's very annoying and needlessly so.

That is a very unique style of play that I would assume very few follow, more typical is rotate DM once every few months not a few times a month, but to each their own, and when it works it works. I would think one difficulty for this is HOW the content sharing is set, as you mentioned you have to join with your character first then have them join for access to the shared content. If that was not the case then you could make a character with classes you do not have access to in one DM's campaign and then still use that character in your main campaign with all of the added benefits. This would probably also allow people to just make a few campaigns and content share to 30~ people and they could all take their cool stuff they had access to and bring that to other unrelated games as long as their character is still in the first one.
That would be A. weird and B. very likely to be abused in some form.

I can understand not allowing a character to play because it doesn't meet content limitations, I think not allowing any character to be in more than one campaign is a redundant security measure.

The problem of having the same character in two campaign is a data issue. The campaigns supposedly proceed in different ways, and so you will have different XP, item...
The duplication of a character can be a solution, but will also consume character slots.

wouldn't it be easier if you could just transfer the role of DM to one of the other participating players. Then you don't use additional player slots and people don't have to drop to rejoin. Mind you this only works for a static group that rotates the DM responsibilities.

As far as I'm concerned it's an acceptable solution. the only thing I would need to tell my players is to duplicate the latest one as needed, and maybe delete old ones. :)

I would also like to ask for another Feature - Online Player/DM Management
So say for example I have a campaign with 2 players so far. I play via Skype, and am open to new people joining if they play via Skype with us. I'd like to be able to "publish" a few details about my campaign, the tools I'm using, the DnD Beyond content I have available and outside DnDBeyond, Skype, FaceTime, whatever, the dates/times we roughly play and from when to when (summer campaign or until we die of old age in irl) and have X "open" slots people can apply for to join the campaign. Maybe even a few details of what we may be looking for (level, class, etc)
The "application" process is pretty simple, the person clicks "apply", and go through the private message system and see if there is a fit (time, personality, personal goals, etc) and I assign the slot to the person. They get a campaign invite link and make their char as discussed.
Once my "open" slots are all filled up, everyone else that may have applied gets an auto-reply and people can't apply to join my campaign.
Conversely, if people make their characters available to join a campaign maybe not fully drawn characters out as they may not have access to the same content as the campaign, they can list, "Want to play, X Class, Y Race, at Z levels, then prospective DM's can look through a pool of people, reach out to the ones that might be a good fit and initiate a conversation.
Something better than people hunting through "LFG forums" that get dated fast. But not something crazy like WoW pugs either. Something in-between.
It would be cool if people could "rate" characters and DMs and their respective groups. Sorta like eBay and their "99% positive ratings" system :P.

eBay is a very poor system to reference. Note that there is no method to provide a negative feedback, aside from any method through the eBay Customer Service, which will almost always side with the customer. Their system is rigged.

I did read your suggestion and thought through what you were trying to accomplish and deduced that your problem was something similar to what you described. In this case, the answer is much simpler than having multiple campaigns, with characters in all of these campaigns. The problem you have is addressed fully by just being able to transfer the role of DM to another person in the campaign.
wouldn't it be easier if you could just transfer the role of DM to one of the other participating players. Then you don't use additional player slots and people don't have to drop to rejoin. Mind you this only works for a static group that rotates the DM responsibilities.
Indeed it would and this is one of the suggestions on the features wish list above, for exactly that reason.

This is addressed in the permissions section of the Wish List, as we also need to consider the scenario where groups may share characters between players for a variety of reasons (only infrequent attendance etc).
Permissions
Set visibility of purchased content for others in the campaign, especially adventure modules. Ability to change this on a per player basis.
Campaign privileges – grant/deny players ability to manage some activities.

Cheers SK,
Totally didn't link the campaign privileges to multiple DMs but it seems obvious now
Thanks for all your hard work putting this together
If you intend to truly support AL, you'll need to allow characters to either participate in multiple campaigns at the same time (for example one permanent campaign for my regular group, plus a campaign that I drop in/out whenever I attend events/Epics/etc). Having to leave my 'permanent' campaign every time I have an Epic with this character sounds like a pain.
Please remember that the way AL works requires a suspension of disbelief: Your character can bounce from a 'Hoard of the Dragon Queen' adventure one week to a completely different setting the next. Continuity isn't really AL's biggest strength.
Also, for those who would like a list of the features requested and what categories I placed them in, here they are.
Again, I must emphasize that this is NOT a list of what you can expect from D&D Beyond - this is a list of all of the features requested by users in the Wish List thread. The assignment to categories is subjective and based upon my own opinion.
Asset Management
Create & manage assets: NPCs, villains. Includes personality traits & stats. Name generator.
Create & manage assets: Locations - towns, lairs, countries etc.
Create & manage assets: Sub-locations – Shop, Inn, Temple etc.
Create & manage assets: Factions. Allows npcs and players to be members.
I really don't know how I missed this post. This is amazing. I am very happy with this roadmap! Great job!
Yea it is a cool list of awesome features, but just so it is clear for others i would avoid calling it a roadmap, as the Devs have not confirmed any of these features and any sort of detailed level. This is just a list of what everyone has asked for. Hopefully we get a lot of these in DDB in the future.
Keep on improving and we will do our best to support you as well.
