D&D has some pretty cool monster art! What is your favorite illustration, sketch, or drawing of a creature, both in 5e and otherwise?
For me, I'd have to go with either the Erinyes or the Flameskull as my favorite, with the Arclight Phoenix as a runner-up. I'm biased for 5e 'cause its all I know.
(Note: If this is better suited for Arts & Crafts rather than General Discussion, please move it, sorry!).
5e is barely in the conversation. The art is consistently beautiful and professional, but never batcrap weird or idiosyncratic. Off the top of my head, I like the Salamander from 1e Monster Manual by Dave Trampier - Very graphic and trippy. If I were ever to get a D&D monster tattoo, it'd be this one.

Except for that one piece of art for the drakewarden, That is batcrap weird.
As for my favorite monster art, The death tryrant has some good stuff, and I'll say nothics because I like nothics.

I'm sure there's more impressive art, but I've always been partial to the Remorhaz.

In 5e:
or
In previous editions, it's really hard, but I love the Eye of Fear in Flame in the AD&D Fiend Folio.
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
Spawn of Kyuss, hands down.
All art from all editions.

In seriousness, the dragon turtle has some excellent art, both in the monster manual and in fizbans.
