I may have failed my investigation check again...is there a way to see all the playtest material? SO far it seems to me most of it is hidden and only visible in character creation. I have seen people share links to Gunslinger for example...you can do a search for it and there is a return on the search but when you click the link it brings to fighter page and it is not viewable...thanks...also Arcane Artificer is selectable in character build but can't pick a Wonderous Invention. So this is where my question comes from. Thank you! I am this close to buying Legendary bundle. For those naysayers, I love physical books too. In my job, I can open (Sleight of Hand) a DnD tab but a physical book on my desk is not an option, lol.
It's been discussed before and their answer is that it is 3rd party and having it on the Fighter page might make it seem official when it isn't and this might upset WotC. It was suggested they could include a banner or something to indicate it's status as third party and not official but they ignored this. There is talk of a menu redesign that may be able to simplify this but this is not a priority at the moment.
TL;DR Not a bug, it is by design.
The Fighter forum has a pinned thread with a link to the page that has the Gunslinger subclass details.
Indeed, the arcane artifice confused me, too. The UA artificer isn’t available on DDB yet. (I thought maybe the OP meant it was, but I checked, and no) There is no published homebrew with that name. In any event, the revised UA artificer does not have a Wondrous invention feature.
The gunslinger is not playtest, it is critical role.
This is the first I've heard of an "arcane artificer," that may be homebrew.
Yup on Gunslinger CR content. However, perhaps I need to clarify. The Artificer is a Wizards of the Coast Unearthed Arcane playtest: You can select it in playtest here at DnD Beyond. Under Wizard Arcane Tradition at 3rd level. You pick at 1st level which type you want to be: Gunsmith or Alchemist. You also have a choice at 3rd level to pick UA School of Invention. I know there are more as well and just wish there was a Playtest Section at the very least. I would like to play a Kobold Alchemist, which would be almost the same as the Kobold Inventor. So much fun. Critical Role, topic related, spoiler ahead:
Before it was a guest PC on Critical Role recently, I fell in love with the Kobold Inventor.
I had forgotten about School of Invention, which is similar to the Artificer, but not the same. The original UA artificer, which is the only one to have the Gunsmith, is not on DDB, as it was released before January 1, 2018. The Revisited Artificer which was just released a week or two ago will be available here once they get the mechanics sorted out for the database.
If you are able to choose Artificer as a class here (not School of Invention subclass for Wizards) please spell out exactly how you have done so, as I have tried repeatedly and not found it.

Is it a book thing? I have all rule books but no Adventure books. I click on "Character Builder," then activate "Playtest" tab under character preferences. Then "Class: Wizard." Then 3rd level, then under class choices: Arcane Tradition choose "Unearthed Arcane: Artificer." Can't choose gunsmith or Alchemist though. I hope that is added soon. Isn't there a way I can share a character? If someone can convince me it is safe I can share it...
The only Unearthed Arcana listing I see as an arcane tradition for wizards is the School of Invention. And it is listed as UA: School of Invention. I’m wondering if this is private homebrew in the campaign you are in, especially since you keep spelling it as Arcane and not Arcana. Besides which, the UA Artificer is its own class. It wouldn’t show up as an arcane tradition within the wizard class. It’s not a book thing; I have access to all the published books (in print) and there is nothing in them with that name.
There is a “share” button/link on you character sheet, roughly above the walking speed box. Pasting that link here will let us see your sheet, but we won’t be able to edit it.

I am aware of the school of invention. It is the only playtest subclass for the wizard. Whatever artificer you are seeing is likely homebrew. If you toggle homebrew off, is it still selectable?

Ahhh...The default setting on my character builder has Homebrew tab selected. I closed it and the Artificer option went away. Your investigation checks are better than mine. Thank you for the help. I would now like to know how specifically the Artificer was added when there are so many others in homebrew...furthermore...I just stopped again and looked in "My Collection-Homebrew" and the Unearthed Arcane-Artificer was there but if I click on the plus sign to view it, it now says "This Item is No Longer Accessible." It was created by user "Vegan_Beast" and had +247 Adds. If this information helps. I do not recall adding it to my homebrew but I guess I must have. Sorry for any confusion. And once again thank you for the help.
The "This Item is No Longer Accessible" is usually an indicator that the homebrew item has been removed because it violates copyright, terms of service and/or didn't have sufficient mechanics. My guess is that this subclass was created before the automated homebrew check system was implemented. Then after it was published, it must have been reported and removed. The new system makes it much easier to identify homebrew elements that violate the rules, or don't fit the mechanical pattern for a subclass.
Ironically...can anyone confirm for me that they see that the Artificer was officially added in Game Rules/Classes UA Artificer... lol...I think it was just added recently...

Yes, it was added today. Make sure you have Playtest Content turned "on".

Do you mean in character creation? That is the only way I know how to turn on playtest material.

Thank you all for helping with this before yesterday as you have to admit it is super funny that I asked about this class, had many moments of confusion and now it is officially a playtest class. Problem solved...thanks again. Love this site.

Gunslinger specifically isn't viewable on the fighter page because it is in a grey area.
