Honestly, I don't understand why WotC couldn't just take the code from the subclass creation, remove the limitations, and do something similar to that? All they would have to do is add the hit dice, tables, and starting equipment.
We'll get a 3D Tabletop Simulator, and got a new DnD5 Version (2024) and taken away the a-la-carte buying-option in the marketplace, before we get the option to create a class on our own. Sad. Also still waiting for translations other than for the basic rules (and maybe PHB?)
bc its not coming is the simple truth. They wont make money off it and would loose alot of money from it. It also seems they lack the man power to actually do it or just dont want to pay them to do it.
I want to make a swordsman class which i know is pretty much a fighter but i want it to be primarily about sword control sorta like the swashbuckler but a more permanently based on the sword part instead of the rogue part.
Its all for a roman campaign and have been waiting forevs for the make a class feature in dnd beyond
smart, I still think a full class-creation system here would be nice though

Hello dearest adventurers! I am the Confused Introvert, i dont know too much about D&D, but im the king of oddly specific and almost useless homebrew cantraps/low level spells, and am currently working on a setting called "Illogical Wizardry" where all of my useless and somewhat absurd spells are implemented to replace the good and known ones (mage hand, fireball, vicious mockery, etc)
same, even if its like, its own tier of the subscriptions, I'd buy it.

It is the year 2025 far into the future from 2019 when this was mentioned, and there is STILL NO COMPLETE HOMEBREW OPTION. Thanks, WotC, you have ruined DnD.

now that i think about it, maby they could make this a paid option, it would kinda suck, but atleast it would be possible

i know everything is happening digitally these days, but if you really want to homebrew you could always print or get a piece of paper or digital note and make yourself a class. i would rather have a template though on digital

That's the thing. A lot of the people who are looking for this feature HAVE done it on paper. But it would definitely be nicer to be able to create it on here. Personally, I wanted to use it to make specific gestalt combinations. So many ideas...
with the way its going right now with WOTC? ill be surprised if they dont get rid of the homebrew section soon.
And still no option..... disheartening
Any followup on this?
How can this still not be an option?

I'd pay for the ability to make some classes.

Just make a new species and put all the class abilities in that. so a Human Psion species.

Five years later and still no custom class option, life ruined.
Yep. Just "buy more stuff from us and don't whine"
