Hello, being able to edit the base class would be helpful if entire new classes are not needed. It is possible to ignore erroneous class abilities not allowed in a campaign on a character sheet but it is not optimal. It would be helpful to be able to edit class ability text, such as in renaming an Inventory item and overriding bonuses. Being able to take all Feats is fun, but not practical (LOL). Thank for all the work you have already accomplished and made available to players through this indispensable DM and Player tool. Being able to adjust base class features or simply edit their text / bonuses would promote additiona opportunities to further make the "world" their own...thank you again for the strong consideration of this feature.
Reminder that while rules for homebrewing subclasses, magic items, feats, etc. are part of official D&D content, class homebrewing rules do not exist anywhere in the "sacred text". Therefore it's not going to happen unless WotC adds it into a book. Unfortunately, looking at their current level of effort, that seems unlikely. D& D Beyond only supports official rules.

Reality is more amazing than we are often led to believe.
I just want to be able to have a Warlock variant that uses INT instead of CHA for main stat, and a Sorcerer that uses WIS instead of CHA. Either RAW plus variant, or an option in the RAW class to choose a different main stat.

You can at least change their casting stat if not the main stat for other features. Make a copy of the subclass you want to play using the original as a template, and then under Basic Information, for the “Spell Casting Ability” choose the stat you want.
Wow if this is the worst your average thread must be amazing.
but Yah it is depressing that wizards won't allow us to make classes that they could latter turn into their won it would be like having thousands of unpaid interns makeing content for them to profit off of. Why haven't they don this yet!?
I was considering using DND Beyond for my campaign, I already own most DND 5e Books and would have bought all of them for DND Beyond as well including the Master Tier Subscription to share them with my players but since I cannot add Homebrew Classes to my Custom Campaign here I'm afraid I won't bother.
I'd be okay with having a limited amount of slots for custom classes per account based on subscription if Data clutter is a concern...

This is why wizards should just let us homebrew and then publish the best ones they get free content we get great new classes win win.
I'm genuinely confused as to why the hesitancy for this feature. I feel like it allows for so much more longevity for the game if we can create our own way of play.
This has been a discussion since 2020. Isn't it time to push this feature out? Come on Wizards - we need to be able to add custom classes! I'm working on a campaign where I really need this.

Please and thank you.
If you look at the post from IAmSposta, on page 1 of the thread, they link a thread from 2018 talking about this feature, so it has been much longer than just 2020. As many others have said even the ability to edit already existing classes would be a step in the right direction, personally I just want to "fix" the Monk class. But I won't be holding my breath for this to ever become a feature, especially with the new edition in the works.
I am blown away that this feature hasn't been added. D&D HATES touching their class system, they won't make new classes or edit the old ones under any circumstances, and apparently, they don't even like us making our own classes. What is with Wizard's stigma over this?
I would bank on never happen. They are far more worried about getting their VTT out and getting One D&D online then adding features people have been asking about since the inception of dndbeyond.

It is not currently possible to replace base class features with subclass features.

I keep coming back every year but no joy yet. Come on D&D Beyond, you have to let us make homebrew classes!

How about now that Wizards owns dndbeyond?

Is there an idea of when it'd be ready. so when we can make entire classes on our own. or will that never happen?
