Not sure whats hard to follow. A reprint for the money grab and it's no where near as good/interesting as wayfinders. Might as well been called Eberron: Diluted Wayfinders guide.
This is what I'm not following. Rising is literally Wayfinder's + more stuff. How can Wayfinder's be the more interesting product?
Two easy ones are the watered down changes to warforged and changlings. Everyone knew integrated protection needed a change but the overhanded changes to just those two races is a WTF moment in design and a limiting aspect for those gamers that enjoy those races. Less RP and less entertainment with less options. Again, not to hard to grasp but at least you see how it's a money grab in the not so literal reprint of the material of wayfinders.

a) No, they didn't. It was not advertised as test/unofficial until after people had already purchased.
b) Yes, it is. In the digital age, a published document is regarded with the same industry standard whether the document is digital or physical. PDF downloads of books are still versioned. Digital distribution simply makes it easier to publish updated versions with less overhead expense incurred by doing so.
The pdf copy I purchased has no Livign Documentation declaration in it.
Okay, but then it's not really Wayfinder's that you're saying is more interesting anymore; but rather homebrew based on the Wayfinder's playtest.
Nope, We'll use the original wayfinders over the new book.
Right. That's now outdated playtest material, or homebrew. It's no longer official Wayfinder's is all I'm saying.
If it was free, then it would be playtest. In the WGtE pdf, Kieth baker states:
The game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by final game design and editing. They aren't part of the game and aren't permitted in D&D Adventurers League events (1). If Wizards of the Coast decides to make this material official, it will be refined cased on your feedback (2) and then appear in a D&D book.
(1) This was changed to allow WGtE in Eberron based AL Campaigns after the pdf version was released.
(2) No feedback concerning the WGtE races was ever asked for to the best of my knowledge. People did talk about the various forums, but no general feedback was ever asked for.
The quote above is taken from Page 4 of the pdf. There is no mention on Page 4 of my pdf of the words 'Living Document'. This is either someing DDB inserted, or a change that WotC insisted on.

But the page you bought it from on DMs Guild says: "this is a living document, and this content will evolve and be updated in response to feedback." It's right in the description of the product.
There is way to much to read here, I payed for the races in wayfinders and its no longer available to me. Are they just updating and it will be available, or do I have to take the $10 loss and buy the new book.

They are updating to the finalized races, etc. If you don’t have access in another day or so, contact support.
I don't want the update in WGtE. I paid for them with the new book. I paid for WGtE. I SHOULD get access to both.
Look at the Orc in the new book. It did not replace what was piut out in Volo's, it was added as a variant. Same goes for the Aasimar from the DMG and from Volo's (again). The situation is similar for the Eldarin.
The WGtE was NOT palytest material. We had to pay for it. Both versions of all the races covered by each book should have been rretained. There is ample evidence of them doing so in the past. If it was UA Playtest material, I couldn't complain, but they have basically firced us to pay twice for some of the material we'd already paid for. A refund? I don't want a refund, I want the material I paid for. Plain and simple.

"The Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron is playtest content, not published official content. This is described in the "Introduction" of the book, which you can't see on D&D Beyond until you have purchased the content. Please add to the Marketplace description of the item that it is Playtest content, or add a preview so that people can view the introduction prior to purchase, so that we know what we're getting into if we purchase it.
All of the material here is presented for playtesting and to spark your imagination. The game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by final game design and editing. They aren’t officially part of the game and aren’t permitted in D&D Adventurers League events. If Wizards of the Coast decides to make this material official, it will be refined based on your feedback and then appear in a D&D book.
EDIT: The adjustment to the product page has been made. Thank you to the D&D Beyond Team!
Those of you in the same boat as me with little use for playtest content can contact D&D Beyond Support to discuss the opportunity for a refund. Kudos to the DDB team for sorting this out so quickly, and candidly.
I’ve read this thread from beginning to end and haven’t seen a clear answer to my question yet, so I’m going to post it here in the event that perhaps someone with more insight or familiarity with the products in question can guide me. My apologies if I somehow missed the answer somewhere here.
I did NOT buy the Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron, as I was a little wary about purchasing a self-proclaimed “prototype.” Now that Eberron: Rising from the Last War is out as an official, finalized campaign book, I am interested in picking it up.
I’ve seen a lot of people who bought Wayfinder’s talking about the merits of buying Rising (either in whole, or a la carte) due to the additional material that is not included in Wayfinder’s. But what about the converse? If one does not already own Wayfinder’s and buys Rising, is there any content that one would be missing? Do I miss out on anything by NOT buying Wayfinder’s now, assuming I buy Rising? If not, can Wayfinder’s even be purchased subsequently? Or would it simply unlock, if there is literally no additional material in it?
Based on what I’ve read online on the forums and Internet boards (particularly that side-by-side checklist that has been floating around), it seems like everything in Wayfinder’s is in Rising. But I would be appreciative if anyone who actually owns or has otherwise compared the two products could weigh in as to any additional value that Wayfinder’s might add to Rising.
I can't guarantee that there's no content in wayfinder's that isn't also in rising, but I wasn't able to find any.
Rising doesn’t seem to have the Aereni and Valenar elf variants. That’s all I was able to find.
They're still described in the text, though neither has mechanical effects. When the wayfinder's guide finally gets updated, they will likely be the same in there.

They asked for feedback shortly after it was released. https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/survey-races-eberron

Thanks for letting me know.
It was playtest material and it was labeled as such for months. You paid for it yes, but that does not change the fact that it was playtest material.
