Half-elf/Half-dwarf (here after refered to as dwelf) is not an official race. If you want to play as one, you will jave to homebrew it or use one of the many public homebrews that exist for it.
As for which I recommend, depends of what class/build you are going for.
Or just use the official stats for a half-elf. A child of an elf and a human is as half-elven as a child of an elf and a dwarf. Use the "Ability Score Increases of your choice" and "Skill Versatility" traits to make them half dwarven.
I'd recommend making a sub-race - you can have an Elven Dwarf where Dwarf is the dominant side and have some Elvish features. Or you can have the Dwarven Elf where Elf is the dominant side and have some Dwarvish features.

Alternatively, you can replace skill versatility with dwarven resilience and call it a day.
Check with your DM to see if they will allow homebrew. If this is an Adventurer's League game, the answer is always no. Otherwise most can be accommodating as long as you aren't asking for too much.
I would do the following, as a starting point:
Ability Scores: +2 Dex and +1 Con or +2 Con and +1 Dex
Speed 30 and Medium sized
Darkvision
Chose 2 of "Major Traits", 1 elf, 1 dwarf
Elf Traits
Keen Senses: Proficiency in Perception
Fey Ancestry: Advantage vs charmed and cant be magically put to sleep
Dwarf Traits
Dwarven Resilience: resistance to poison damage and advantage vs poison saves
Armor Training: light and medium armor proficiency
Choose 1 of "Subrace Traits"
Fey Step: 30 foot teleport as bonus action once per short rest.
Fleet of Foot: +5 movement speed
Dwarven Toughness: +1 HP per level
Duegar Resilience: advantage vs charmed and illusions
Choose 1 of "Minor Traits"
Trance: 4 hours of sleep instead of 8
Stonecunning: expertise in history when analyzing stone work
Can I do half-elf half-dwarf?
I think so.
Just in case I can't cross species like that, I am adding another poll.
Are you completely sure?
No

Just so you know, this is my first time playing.
But then again, your dm might want you to only do one.
