Character Name: Eruk
Race/Class: Green Dragonborn Bard
Backstory: A simple troubador at first glance, Eruk is the eye, ear, and nose of a meister of the capital that let him off with community service after he broke into a school to teach himself how to play music.
Why are you in Red Larch?: the disturbances have been reported to the capital, and while a good few meisters are hemming and hawing between decision and indecision, one has sent a spy ahead to ascertain the truth, and is supposed to meet a contact there, a ranger who's seen the events themselves.
Backstory: Kree's mother died at an earlier age, and his father was part of the Headhunter trade, a trade Kree picked up. Training with his father, he learned a code that he followed for his whole life. He doesn't steal from, or kill others in the trade. Over years, he developed a decent reputation at being very good at his job, being able to use his natural, as well as his learned abilities to sneak in and out of different areas.
Why are you in Red Larch?: Kree has found themselves in Red Larch as he was hired by a local Waterdeep Masonry to chaperone some recent shipments to insure they make it to their destinations.
Ketushi's parents found him on their front step of their homestead near Khelldel. Just a wee sleekit babe in the woods all bundled up proper in sheepskin, and a pendant made out of a small leather pouch containing a sapphire. And a scar in the middle of his forehead. His adopted mom made a point to replace the thong for his amulet as needed to fit. Yes, that's right - homesteaders from a logging community. They did some farming, hunting, trapping, carpentry, leatherworking, that sort of thing. Mostly for the lumber company, but lately also for the dwarves and gnomes in the quarries towards Red Larch. Ketushi became quite adept at hunting beasts, and leatherworking. He needed to learn the hunting in order feed his prodigious appetite. Lately, though, he had been noticing some peculiar folk in the woods with stone masks. He was in Red Larch to do some trading for supplies for his adopted family, and to learn what news he could of the strangers in the woods...

Character Name: Awaris Delevir
Race/Class: Half-elf / Warlock Celestial pact
Backstory: Awaris was raised in the church of Ilmater as an alter boy. In his teenage years, disillusioned with the idea of spending his entire life locked away in a church, he began to rebel. It was small infractions at first, skipping evening prayer, shirking his chores. But he became emboldened with his success and not long after his nineteenth nameday he found himself breaking in to the hidden vault beneath the church, he intended to steal a relic and sell it for enough gold to start a new life. Awaris choked briefly on the dust he stirred up as he entered the forbidden room and when his eyes cleared he saw a room lined with shelves packed full of old tomes and scrolls, wooden idols, porcelain jars, and golden trinkets. In the centre of the room, resting on a raised dais was a beautiful sword. It was unsheathed and shone a bright silver in the torchlight. Cast in gold upon the pommel was the symbol of Ilmater, two hands bound at the wrist with a cord.
Awed by the sight of the sword and having daydreams of a life of adventure, traveling the world with this sword, protecting fair maidens and slaying beasts, Awaris reached out and grasped the sword. As he did it burned bright with a blinding golden light. Awaris heard it then, the voice of a terrible angel. In truth it was a Solar in the service of Ilmater. The Solar bound Awaris in a pact, power and adventure in exchange for lifelong service to Ilmater.
Why are you in Red Larch?: For the last tenday Awaris had woken at all hours of the night, drenched in sweat and trembling in fear, with no memory of his dreams except the final words "Red Larch". Awaris didn't know what to expect in Red Larch but he knew full well the cost of breaking his pact, so he set out for Red Larch to do the bidding of his Patron. Two months ago he had been returning from market when a glimpse of brightness between the trees had caught his eye. It fluttered and weaved between the trees, but he knew he wasn’t just “seeing things”, so he followed. The more he chased it into the woods the more he knew this was something otherworldly. Just as he finally could see clearly it seemed to be a tiny fairy laughing at him, he seemingly feel into a hole and lost consciousness.
Awakening back on the side of the path near his supplies some time later, he returned home confused, only to find he now had touched or graced with some energy that seemed divine or fey, allowing him to teleport about! Character Name: Osian Dawndrifter Race: Water Genasi Class: Warlock (Genie)
Backstory:
Growing up in a small fishing village, Osian was always aware he was different. His teal skin and blue hair an outward sign of a heritage that also gave him an affinity for water beyond that of the other fishers in the community. His grandmother related the stories of his ancestor, a powerful marid, a water genie, who met a beautiful village woman on the beach. He offered her a wish, and she wished for a child. Whether the child was the genie's biological offspring or created by magic none could say, but when she was born her origins were clear - blue-green skin, blue hair, and large inky black eyes. The genie stayed to watch the child grow, but soon began to treat the village as an extension of his kingdom in the Plane of Water, and the villagers as his slaves. The village elders consulted secretly with witches and mages, and were able to trick the genie into being sealed inside a magical bottle, which was then dropped far out into the ocean. Memory of the marid became a village legend, believed to be just a story, until Osian was born.
Swimming in the sea as a child, his parents were panicked when once he stayed under the water far longer than any child should be able to. He emerged after around 10 minutes with the news that he could breathe underwater.
As he grew he joined his family in fishing, before specialising in diving for pearls and other creatures and items that can only be found on the sea floor. The pearls were often sold to the elves for use in their jewellery, and he was able to live comfortably.
One day while out diving he discovered a bottle, lodged in a coral reef on the sea floor, etched with runes and decorated with gold chains. On touching it he was transported to a circular room with dark glass walls, and a ceiling that tapered up to a short chimney. He was inside the bottle. Behind him he heard a voice that bubbled and echoed - "Finally." Turning he saw a large figure in bright silks, finely stitched and embroidered with beads and gems. But the head atop the finery was hideous - sickly green and scaled; broad, thick lips; beady eyes, and no nose to be seen. And the hand that reached out to touch Osian was of the same grotesque colour, but claw-like and thin, though still twice the size of Osian's. "My child..." it whispered. "You... you are the genie," Osian stammered. "My ancestor." "Yes," it sighed, "I feel the fragment of my power which made you, passed down your bloodline. I can give you more, so much more, if you will but free me from this prison." "I was told you were a tyrant," countered Osian, gently removing the genie's hand from his arm. "If you were released, what would stop you from enslaving my village again?" A look of fury fleetingly passed over the marid's face, but it returned Osian's gaze saying in a desperate voice "I have been here for so long now... I simply wish to return home." "I... I don't know. I should speak to the village elders, they'll know what to do." At this the marid rose up to its full height, and it's voice was no longer like the bubbling of a gentle brook, but like the crashing of great waves in a storm. "Those foolish, creaking mortals?! You can be so much more, child, so much greater than them. I send you forth now, to take me home. There I can be freed, and make you my heir, the child of the great Sultan Tythazzan Iq Obbal! Now GO!"
At this the marid gestured, and the water which filled the bottle-room twisted and surged, forming a jet which pushed Osian against the glass wall. The force of it grew and grew and the noise of it filled his ears until he thought he might pass out, before it began to recede, becoming a gentle pulse. Osian opened his eyes, and found himself laying on the beach, the surf rhythmically washing up around him. Sitting up he felt something gripped in his hand. It was the bottle. He felt a moment of terror at what had happened, what connection may have been formed with the creature in the bottle, before a feeling of calm washed over him. He felt a new sense of purpose. He stood up, and walked off the beach, through the village streets, and away.
Why are you in Red Larch?: Red Larch is simply one of the towns Osian has encountered on his journey, while he looks for... whatever. He'll know it when he sees it.

This was a fatal mistake. The dragon, acting in self-defense, killed almost all of Tinder's soldiers. Tinder's right-hand man, Private Charcoal, died acting as a diversion to let Tinder escape. Tinder will never forget his kindness, but cannot return to King Smolder, because failure in war is punishable by death. He is now on the run, hiding from anyone who may be involved with King Smolder.
Why are you in Red Larch?: According to a rumor, there is a massive Bonze Copper Dragon, with fire scars, in the area. Tinder aims to get revenge for his fallen comrades.

Character Name: Osian Dawndrifter
Race: Water Genasi
Class: Warlock (Genie)
