he looks for anything clearly magical or unorthodox about the brandy. [I got a 7 on an Investigation or Arcana check, either works since I don't have a bonus to both of them]
(uncork a bottle, smell it, take a taste. It burns with a sweet and sour flavor that resembles flowers, cherries, and lemons. The burn is not smooth and the bouquet is strong. It will get you drunk but the flavor is overpowering and the alcohol taste lingers. All hallmarks of a poorly crafted brandy, but to an untrained palette, it tastes great. No Magic, just poor craftmanship.)
Esseer concludes that there is nothing inherently wrong about the brandy, and that it will be sufficient to attract spirits when infused in the soil of the burial ground. He then makes his way back to his tent and the area marked out to be used for the resting place, Tambor assumedly following.
Lorkath raises an eyebrow, "Ku, are you the only brave hunter in our camp? This is very disappointing." Lorkath towers even over Ku as he puts a large hand on his shoulder. "We need more than one to get enough food for our people. Who else will step up and take the call of nature and master the elements?"
Did you miss the message about Zaupu and Harbek already left to hunt and are waiting for everyone to catch up? Sorry we left before we found out you were going to DM a hunt. Nico told us we could just RP, so we left. Now we are waiting for the hunting party to catch up to us.
BTW... my carry weight is 570lbs, so I can carry pretty much and drag 1140lbs.
Lorkath smiles at Thokks response, "Thokk and Zu go and join Zaupu and Harbek they have recently left. Our scouts have found a prime location full of large beasts in the northeast so prepare for a little bit of fight."
Thokk sees broken branches and a trample of grass, this lets you know that something large was moving north, if you want to give me an investigation check you might be able to learn more.
With a closer look, Thokk noticed tuffs of brown hair caught on some broken twigs, and with Ku's ancestral insight, you all would know that this comes from wild boar but if that is the case it looks to be the biggest boar you all have ever seen.
Esseer is quite surprised by Tambor's suggestion but is incredibly grateful nonetheless "Why of course you can help me prepare the burial grounds! You know, I have always done it alone in the past as people don't want to get involved with the morbid process, but I'm sure you'll be incredibly useful if we run into any complications, such as any monsters that share the area, since you seem a much better fighter then I! The amount of times I've marked out a burial ground right over the grove of a dryad or above a colony of blood-sucking centipedes is too many to be proud of. Once I have finished examining this case of brandy to make sure it is fit for the process we can start, and hopefully it will be complete by the time the hunting party returns in case they have any corpses to dispose of!'
She takes her halberd in both both hands and replies, "I can certainly stand guard." She smiles and then a look of minor puzzlement comes over her, "Dryads I can see, since they'll hide in their trees. And I do have a method for possibly dealing with them. But how did you miss the centipedes? Though I am thinking of giant ones, so if you're talking about the regular ones (nasty little creepy crawlies) then I guess that's on me." She pauses and adds with a wink, "Though I certainly hope any corpses the hunting party comes back with are beasts meant for a roasting pit."

Thokk just looks at his companions and holds up the hair "Looks like a boar and a big one at that. You all ready?" he asked smiling as he turns into a dire wolf and digs his nose into the fur to pick up the scent and begin leading the party towards the boar.
Zaupu walks over to Thokk to examine what he found. "A boar sure would be tasty. Tired of only finding elk. Let's follow the trail and find this tasty morsel."

Esseer gives a chuckle and says "Let's hope so too, all this effort will work up our appetites! Usually, I manage to keep Dryads at bay with some offerings of berries, but centipedes..." Esseers expression begins to shift "I've always hated centipedes. My father was the gravekeeper before me, and I looked up to him as a child almost as much as I do my god. Though one day he came home and looked pale and weak. The number of graves he could dig a day went from twenty, to ten, to five, to two, until he could barely lift his shovel." His face is now dark, his hood casting a shadow that obscures his eyes. "Eventually he died, and as his son I was left to dig his grave for him. And as I was lowering him into the ground I spotted just behind his ear, a blood-sucking centipede, thin as blade of grass yet still plump for its kind, sucking the blood from his lifeless body. I've hated them ever since, and it taught me that even the smallest things can turn a great man weak if not noticed." He lingers in the silence for a moment, before hanging his head back so his hood falls back over his shoulders, and his face looks towards the sky. "It's nice to have some company here in this quiet place. Takes you out of the gloom of it all." He then gets to work, unearthing dirt and pouring the brandy into it whilst chanting incantations, and placing minor wards that help stop the rare natural rise of undead from lingering fey magic. About halfway through, he looks over to Tambor, who although they seem to be looking around for danger, she's still just stood in place. "What are you waiting for?", he calls, "Come get stuck in, it won't kill you!", before passing her his shovel and getting back to work

Ku takes a feather from his component pouch and traces a large circle around his body while casting a spell of protection (mage armor). In tune with his arcane abilities, Ku taps into the Magic Font to regain some magic (bonus action, convert 2 sorcery points for 1 spell slot).
When he's done making preparations, He follows closely to Thokk, "We are on the hunt!"
Zaupu's stomach starts to growl as he walks quietly trailing the boar. "Sorry, I should have eaten something while I waited for Ku to get back from Inn, but I didn't bring any food with me when I left this morning." Zaupu is starting to get a little hangry. "Where is this damn boar. I am getting hungry. I am sure everyone back at camp is too."
"Thokk, can you tell how far away this boar is, with that nose of yours? Are we getting close yet?" His stomach growls again. "It's going to be lunch time before we get back."

We will assume that it does not take long for Thokk, Zu, Zaupa, and Harbek to meet up with each other. What are y'all doing to find your quarry?
Thokk will begin to look for any tracks or sign of animals in the area.
