After taking his evening stroll around the perimeter in which he inspects herbs and flowers and, really, all aspects of nature that he founds in this, for him, new environment, Riyphou partakes at the dinner. He tries to get into a conversation with Maxie who seems be intent on absent-mindedly piercing the forest with her glare of her black eyes. He tells a tale about a mischievous mouse who crawled into an elephant's trunk, causing the enormous creature to go berserk, trumpeting and rampaging until the mouse finally scurried out. Ever since, elephants tell their children at bedtime, "Don't let the mice crawl in," when they tug them in. Then, he chuckles and smiles at Maxie hoping to offer some comfort.
Later in the evening he offers to stand guard at the early morning shift, arguing that he would prefer to sleep without disruption and he likes to wake up early anyway. (Perception: 23, if with advantage (smell) or disadvantage (dark): 18)
Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Tyrgram smiled at Ovrola's modesty. The rest of the ride he tried his best to get more out of the bashful caravan rider in the hope of learning more about who she was, how she learned those skills and why.
In the evening Tyrgram had the intention to take up night duty once more but when twilight came and went, he felt the strength draining from his legs. He excuses himself and sat down against the wheel of the wagon. He barely had the time to pull his blanket around himself before falling into an uneasy, slightly feverish sleep.
When Tygram woke back up, his forehead felt slightly clammy with sweat. He got up to his feet but felt woozy, as if he stood up too fast yet that could not have been the case. His stomach felt sick though he did not know if it was hunger or actual sickness plaguing him.
OOC: Anyone want to give the wee mouse a pep talk?
That was what Riyphou tried to do, to lift her spirits with a story. Or if nothing else to distract her from them.

After the fight was over, Maxie was in a bit of a daze as she tries to sort things out. 'I might have killed someone. They were trying to kill the people I was protecting, and they almost killed Sen. They would have killed Sen if it wasn't for Riyphou. Killing them was justified. Killing them was the right thing to do to protect the caravan. But I killed someone, or at least knocked them out of the tree. The others were shooting at them too, but my shot was the one that knocked someone out of the tree. If only my sleep spell had worked! Why didn't put at least one person to sleep? I've killed mosters before, but this time i may have killed a person.'
OOC: In other words, her thought are spinning round and round. Not uncommon the first time you kill someone, even if it is in self defense.

Findal approached Maxie with a soft sort of expression when it became obvious that she wasn't going to be able to process Riyphou's words, too deep in her spiral. He bundled her up with a heavy blanket and a soft, "Come here, little mouse," as he bundled her up with care. "You should rest for now." It wasn't the first panicked response the old gnome had seen to causing the death of someone in the middle of combat. He's certain it wouldn't be the last. He hoped she rested well.
The night passes for the caravan in relative silence. The morning meal made and prepared for everyone, handed out over the remaining embers of the fire. Kin, like Tyrgram, seems to be slightly feverish and seemingly unwell. The rest of the caravan is a little more lively as they prepare to take to the road again. There is a little more weariness, given the events of the previous day. Those injured the day before have seemingly taken to wearing layers in the case of Sen and Kin. Raf adjusts his armor with a bit of a cautious grimace.
"We'll move on the hour. Get yourselves ready," Dugal calls out.
Tyrgram you will find your next long rest you have recovered from the illness.
In the morning, Maxie seeks out Riyphou. She does a curtsy and says, "Thank you for the story. It took a while for it the penetrate, but it did help. I think I'm doing a little better now."
Little better is an apt description, the little mouse girl looks like she didn't get enough sleep last night.
OOC: I figure she has a level of exhaustion from her racing thoughts keeping her up most of the night.
After finally a good night trance, Dah’ren wakes up refreshed. In the morning he kneels down at one of the trees to offer prayer to his deceased kin who foolishly pursue them. He hopes his soul will be back to nature and he hopes that the elves would not exact revenge.
After the prayer, Dah’ren is back to Raf’s Wagon and sits beside the man.
“You feel alright, Raf, how’s the wound?” He asks.
Riyphou's eyes softened as he looked down at Maxie, the little mouse girl who seemed so fragile yet so determined. He offered her a gentle smile, his deep voice resonating with warmth. "I'm glad the story helped, Maxie," he rumbled, his tone soothing. "You're doing wonderfully, and it's alright to take things one step at a time."
He knelt down to her level, intending that his large, comforting presence makes her feel safer. "When the caravan starts moving, why don't you rest on one of the wagons? You need your strength, and we have a long journey ahead. I'll make sure you're safe, and you'll feel much better after some sleep."

After a good night of refreshing rest, Zzyzyn busies himself with packing up his sleeping bag and gear as the others bustle about getting ready for the day. He notices Maxie's disheveled state, and nods in approval when Riyphou pulls her aside for a conversation. The mouse didn't seem to handle the fight yesterday very well, so he was glad the elephant was willing to give her a morale boost.
After storing his equipment, he takes his usual position off to the side of the wagon, scowling at the edge of the forest as he starts his vigil for the day.
Tyrgram awoke feeling slightly feverish and wholly like crap. His muscles ached when he packed up his belongings and put them into the cart. Normally he could sleep off an illness in one night. He figured he might need two nights for this one. Maybe it was the sleeping on hard ground rather than a soft mattress that threw him off his game. None of the others seemed to be ill which troubled him slightly. Was he getting too old for this? Sure, Tygram knew he was not at the prime of his life but he was barely a day over two hundred, give or take... some number he rather not admitted to himself.
'Pardon my demeanour, miss O-Ovrola.'Tyrgram said to the cart driver and cleric. 'I'm a little bit under the weather. But be assured: if trouble comes I'll be right as rain to keep you and the caravan safe.'He sat down, laid his axe across his lap for easy reach, and shut his eyes. He leaned back against the backrest of the driver's seat and propped himself up for the day's journey.

After the prayer, Dah’ren is back to Raf’s Wagon and sits beside the man.
“You feel alright, Raf, how’s the wound?” He asks.
Raf almost jumped out of his skin as Dah'ren approached, gaze darting around for a moment before he offered a tense smile. "The wound is well. Ovrola does good work." He's already settled at his wagon, although his gaze is constantly jumping from tree to tree before it refocuses back on Dah'ren. "Will you be riding with me today?"
"Yes, yes," Riyphou tries to calm Maxie. "For this it is best to be fully rested. I will wake you up at the slightest sign of danger or when you are needed for your wizardly skills. Until then, I believe, we have plenty of eyes watching the way," he explains trying to convince her. Findal bustled up next to Riyphou and Maxie with a quick nod of his head. "Oh listen to your loxodon friend, little mouse!" He patted Maxie on the shoulder with a wide smile. "You did plenty yesterday. A little light resting as the caravan travels is nothing to be ashamed of. You can travel with me, if you like? I'll wake you if anything happens." Findal offered her a wink with a smile.

Ovrola looked to Tyrgram, obviously concerned. "O-Oh. I don't, ah. I don't have anything to help with that I...don't think? Mostly just spell components..." she trailed off into a mumble. "Hopefully you--you feel better with rest!" She seems quite determined to let Tyrgram rest on her wagon for the day of travel.
Dugal makes one final call for everyone to settle in to place before he leads the caravan out of the wagon circle and back on to the trail for the day. Several of the caravan members glance over to the quiet Zzyzyn, although out of all of them Kin seems quite pleased to have Zzyzn back by the wagon once more, offering the gruff guard a wide smile.

Riyphou walks besides Sen's cart again. This time he is rather quiet and keeps an eye out for dangers. Occasionally he even lifts his trunk when he thought he smelled something. Then cures up in the blanket nest, and thanks to the reassurances from everyone, is fast asleep by the time the wagons move out.
With the sun's warm glow on his face and the gentle rocking of the cart, it did not take long for Tyrgram's weariness to overtake him. Before long a soft snoring reverberated through his beard, making the facial hair softly tremble.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As stalwart as ever, Zzyzyn keeps his eyes roaming about the forest's edge, wary of another ambush like the one that happened yesterday. Like before, he chooses to walk alongside the cart rather than riding upon it; it helped him stay alert and staved off the temptation to fall asleep, something that some of his fellow guards already seemed to succumb to. With a sigh, he shakes his head and turns his attention back to his duty of protecting the caravan.
Findal waved Maxie off with a smile before he settled to his own cart as well. Sen is more than happy to have Maxie on her wagon, and spends the start of the journey talking before she eventually falls silent when she realized Maxie is tired. Ovrola, likewise, lets Tyrgram sleep with little complaint after yesterday's adventure, while Raf is less comfortable with speaking today.
For the most part the journey of the wagons starts off slow. The day passes relatively uneventfully until mid-afternoon. Alongside the side of the road there are visible pockets of leaves taken from trees that have died early due to illness or fungus, or have been felled in some other way perhaps by passing creatures of some kind. Zzyzzn is the only one to spot the owlbear slumbering in one pile of leaves, its feathers the exact right shade to not be noticed just off the side of the road the caravan is traveling down. It appears, from this distance which truthfully is not that far from it at all, to be peacefully slumbering away. It's resting spot is close enough, however, that the sound of hooves and wagon wheels could very easily wake it.
There isn't much time to get out a warning, the wagons moving too fast to really halt them before the first of the wagon's reaches the owlbear's resting place and passes it by. The owlbear itself begins to stumble awake as soon as Dugal's wagon trundles by, followed by Findal's wagon next. It wakens dazed, disoriented, and sleepily regards the caravan.
After taking his evening stroll around the perimeter in which he inspects herbs and flowers and, really, all aspects of nature that he founds in this, for him, new environment, Riyphou partakes at the dinner.
