This set up and conversation take a few precious seconds. Charles begins to feel a bit strange after holstering his pistol. The diseased seems to finally be taking hold of the gunslinger. His skin begins to shift, becoming softer, translucent, and rubbery. A slight layer of watery slime coats the new skin texture, and Charles begins to feel an irresistible urge to remove his clothes and dive underwater. In fact, he so desperately feels the need to submerge, that being outside water hurts his new skin. As he begins to rip his clothing, his skin feels like it is burning (Charles takes 2 acid damage.)
A few more seconds pass as the group watches this transformation somewhat wordlessly. Drago's Spiritual Weapon fades away as the spell's normal duration has run out.
-> Here are a few Blink dice as a good half-minute has passed since Drago's last move: 8, 1, 6, 20, 1- The sorcerer does not disappear for a while, managing to watch the beginning of Charles' transformation. Once back into the Material Plane, Drago lingers a bit more, being able to also witness his spectral weapon disappear.
Charles winces in pain and just, through gritted teeth, will say, "I. Need. To. Go. To. The. Water. This. Hurts. Help. Me." He will unhook his holster and ammo bag and hang it to Jury, "Please. Hold. This." He will then dive in the water.

Drago was watching Charles and didn't catch Jury's instructions completely (OOC: Laserwhit has had a busy weekend, Friday was my birthday) "Sorry, I was watching our weird gun warrior dance." He turns to the elf and in his most gracious elvish he says. "We are unable to change your past but wish to help you out of your current pains. We understand that you have been a prisoner here for a long time and hope to change that. Also if we are able to help you recover, would you help us learn what we can in order to find our way out of this place? We would also, like our friend Jury here says, like to help these humans." Pointing to Charles and Grixx, "It would seem that the water monster has effected them in some way and we worry that this effect may last a long time. Do you know of ways to help with these problems? As a token of our sincerity I will use my divine influence to ease your suffering." Drago casts level 1 Healing Word on the elf: it heals for 8. persuasion20 - if the added heal has a positive effect on the elf then here is a possible advantage roll for the persuasion - 17

(@Laserwhit: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And yes, you'd get advantage for healing the Elf and speaking to him in his language, jointly.)
A few of the Eladrin's many injuries heal over, but nowhere near what would be needed to help his pain subside (Pale Elf - CMD: 117). He offers a few more words after seeing Charles dive: "He was hit by the Aboleth's tentacle. To the best of my knowledge, he is done for. He won't need to breath water, but his skin will begin to burn whenever he spends too much time without moisture. Healers won't be able to help him regain his life essence (i.e. HP) while out of the water either. One of my companions fell to the same disease. The others showed him mercy..."
As the Eladrin finishes his sentence, Tymora's coin begins to shake furiously around Grixx's neck, surely proving that it is holding a strong disease at bay. For now, Grixx looks as he has always done.
-> Blink die: 2 - Drago disappears for the next few seconds.
(@Laserwhit Whooo~ Good thing you posted that, because Jury was about to suggest something rather mean!)
Jury glances, and starts to say something, but catches himself. Following a curt nod to the gunman, he takes the equipment, strapping it temporarily to his own frame. Afterwards, he turns to the Eladrin with glowing red eyes. Before cruelty or dispassion can further guide his next action, Drago's words give him pause. At one point he even raises a finger, a disclaimer but a few words away from mind. Yet, he lowers it without a word, and turns instead to the Aboleth.
Concern at this point over the creature drying out, the warforged wordlessly began making his wave over to it after having summoning Verdict, casting Light upon his new crown. The travel is painfully slow going, but he refuses to relent unless called back by the others. Once there, something clicks and whirs beneath the warforged arms as he puts away his shield before parts of his arm began rotating about, revealing in steps alchemical tools. Tools he put to immediate work removing select bits of flesh, mucus, and the like for what promised to be a long, and quite possibly fruitless endeavor in manufacturing a cure for the humans predicaments. All with the help of Verdict too! Even if his assistance largely revolved around carrying and taking away things as necessary, borrowing his vision for a different angle on things, or reminding him of past experiments.
(@Lerus Let me know if you need some sort of check or not. Jury will be adding Guidance to the roll as well.)
(@Ori: Alright, I won't reveal the DCs for these before hand but fair warning, this will be pretty hard. I need an arcana check, a medicine check, and a nature check. Verdict's help can aid you in either the medicine or the nature checks, your choice. You can use the Guidance die in all three, as usual, assuming you recast the cantrip periodically. A second person casting the same spell does not stack bonuses.)
The Eladrin responds to Charles: "Only if you choose to, but if you are a trialist as I once was, death should mean little to you, right?"

And so, Verdict and Jury begin their work. Occasionally, one can hear the sound of Verdict squeaking in surprise after having literally bit off more than he chew and take back to Jury at points...

Jury sticks with his experiment for about 16 minutes before admitting that this might be beyond his knowledge and current materials. The end result is a small vile of some sticky, transparent liquid that could pass by water from afar. Jury concludes that whatever effects it may induce are likely to be stronger if the concoction is ingested as opposed to applied to the skin, but results are uncertain.
Drago assists for part of the experiment and Verdict dutifully carries supplies around. Drago Blinks back and forth a few more times before the spell comes to its natural end.
Grixx watches all of this a bit concerned, wondering what may happen if he removes the Periapt of Health from around his neck.
The Elf continues his conversation with Charles: "I disagree. It doesn't sound bad to me at all..."
Jury wasn't one to give up so easily, but... Jury knew better. He puts away the vial determined to re-examine his results after a good rest. Until then, he had Prince Verdict climb back inside with his loot as he moves back to the elf, gesturing Drago to come along as well. His first stop is Charles, who he motions for the man to get close before casting Light upon the man's clothes. "Gunslinger Charles. It is unfortunate, but a means of concocting an alternate solution to you current predicament has not been found at this time. What I have thus far been able to create will only intensify the effects if consumed. Results. Uncertain. But the change is likely to be permanent. Hypothesize Optimal Results: You will gain amphibious qualities, and will no longer require quite an extensive maintenance. Sub Optimal Results: Full transfiguration into species wholly reliant upon water sustenance."
Jury pauses to let his words sink in before having Verdict temporarily crawl out and pass the wring to Charles. "Attune to this. In current state, it will prove moderately helpful... THis aside, I propose an alternate Solution. Death and Reincarnation through the nature of the trials. If done appropriately, I will be able to refashion your remains into a new servant of justice." He raises a hand as if to quiet an immediate response. "I will of course accept your refusal in the event that only death and reincarnation is chosen instead." Whether Charles refuses or not, Jury makes his way over to Eladrin. "I have had time to think about it, and your prior statement has left me curious. Grixx and Drago will escort you to the Green Room as a change of scenery may 'lift' that mood of yours. If not, and you prove to still desire it, I am certain Grixx will be more than happy to end your suffering and delusions."

(OOC: Recall that the ring is yet unidentified. You can identify it through the spell or by studying it during a short or long rest. This rest however would not count as attunement. A second rest would be needed for that. Also, there are no PC remains. Body and belongings all fuse into the new form.)
The Eladrin says: "How about this instead. A trade. I relive your companion of his cursed life, and you then relieve me of mine. A favor for a favor. This way none of you need to kill a companion, not even the gunslinger himself."
Drago follows Jury and is ready to help with current plans. "I prefer not to use the reincarnate option as trial failure is closer when this is used. We should exhaust all other options first before moving to this last course."
Drago perks up immediately when he hears the Eladrin elf offer the trade. "My good man, what are you proposing? Are you saying that if we allow you to end your suffering, you will be able to help the gunslinger?" Drago quickly flies to the Eladrin, curious for a response.
Charles will speak from the water, "If you can save me, elf. Then do it. If it works, I will gladly execute you and give your soul peace. You have my word on that."
"Aahh, I think I misunderstood our new elf friend here. He was offering to be Charles executioner and not his doctor. Oh well, sigh... But before we resort to such dire circumstances, we have a few tricks yet to try. Charles is not ready to move on to another existence just yet."
"But if you truly want to be done with this life, I'm sure we can make it happen."
"Allow me." Jury states as he steps up with a pep to his step, and clasps the side of the Eladrin's head if allowed. "Query: Do you have any last words before I begin? Advice? Or even a name remembered?"He asks the Eladrin.

"That is no guarantee yet. But... you do have a point, Gunslinger Charles. Aim for the chest, and limit the damage, if you do not mind." Jury stands back up, and steps back to Identify the ring. After requesting for it back of course. He use the shorter method as well, knowing every second would soon count.
