Xavier casts control flame and puts out the bonfire. “Guys we need to stop burning everything , I’m the only one that can stop it and slowly at that, we don’t want to alert whoever controls this place more than we already are. Burning area after area is not a good idea and might call in enforcers to remove us”
Xavier will move to J22 and if he sees the creature he will cast frostbite dc 16 or take 7 cold damage and disadvantage on next attack
Xavier puts out the fire that Baik started and then moves to (you can't reach J22, it looks like the furthest west you can get to is the N column. Please make a new move if you want to move after putting out the fire. J22. I had meant for you to make the free perception check at the beginning of your turn, but I will allow you to make it after you move (making the DC a 12 instead of 22). You see another monstrosity hiding in the trees. Unless you have a way to cast one of the spells as a bonus action, you can't cast frostbite this turn.
After being surprised by the hidden monster, she takes one step back, while still facing him. "Nice hit, but don't you think you'll be able to intimidate me away from this battle..." She raises her sword and stands her ground.
Eiren looses his readied chill touch spell on the new hostile beast (did I not see it before Velmine approached it?)
Attack: 19 Damage: 7
No you didn't see it as it is hiding behind the trees, I was going to let both you and Corvin take your readied actions when it follows Velmine and attacks her, moving out of the trees a little.
The new monstrosity follows Velmine, getting hit by Eiren's chill touch and possibly Corvin's Sacred flame. It attacks with both a Bite Attack: 15 Damage: 8, and it's Hooves Attack: 10 Damage: 8, both of which miss. The monstrosity disengages as a bonus action and again moves behind the trees.
You can still hear the sounds of pain from the trees.
Corvin make your readied action.
Back to the party
Velmine, Eiren, and Corvin have line of sight on L3
Against the missed attack from the beast, she quickly takes a counter-attack with the rapier she already had in hand.
Riposte Attack:28Damage:55Piercing (It's 1d8+6d6 because of 5d6 from sneak attack, plus one from riposte itself.)
(That's a ton of damage... If it didn't kill it, I'll let Eiren handle it, if it did, then that's one less problem for us.)
Velmine proudly pulls the rapier back as the creature runs away, giving a big grin at her achievement. "And that's what you get from trying to bite my arm off." Seeing Eiren run past her, she starts looking around for the other monster, dashing her way through the trees, until she finds L4, and placing herself on H26, she attacks again without much thought on the possible consequences.
Attack:12Damage:16Piercing
(I don't know how exactly the bear is supposed to work while on his own command, but maybe if the DM could shed light on how they interpret it, I could more easily decide the next course of action... Will the bear just stay still, waiting for an opponent to appear in his sight before attacking? Or is it possible that sounds such as the ones happening due to our little battle are going to attract him? Either way, is it possible to issue a one time command, without interrupting my old multi-use command? Like, this turn they do something, a new command, but the next he's already set to attacking our enemies like I asked earlier? Sorry for having to ask so many questions, but the item's description didn't specify any of these, and the only person who can really respond it to me is you, seeing as you're the one responsible for all things rule related.)
Baik moves away from the pond to 25P. maybe that water is magic too? Just saying, let’s get rid of this guy. Nice hit Velmine! He points his spear, and Magic Fire rains upon L3.
The new monstrosity (L3) follows Velmine, getting hit by Eiren's chill touch and Corvin's Sacred flame. It attacks with both a Bite Attack: 15 Damage: 8, and it's Hooves Attack: 10 Damage: 8, both of which miss. Velmine retaliates with a Riposte that catches the monstrosity in the eye, Velmine drives her rapier all the way to the helt, with the tip of the rapier sticking out the back of the monstrosity's skulk. Killing it instantly.
Velmine then moves to attacks the other monstrosity when she again comes face to face with a new monstrosity (I,J-25,26). She stops in either J27 (if you go down and through the trees in the little path) or J24 (if you go up and around the trees). Please letme know which one you choose and if you move away. The Monstrosity tries to Bite you Attack: 20 Damage: 12 and make a savage mark, yes that will probably scar.
Velmine retaliates with her rapier, but misses.
Corvin, Eiren, and Baik can all make new actions as L3 is Dead.
Xavier you don't need to make a perception check and you can either target L4 with your [spell]frostbite[spell] like you said, or you can target L1 instead.
After her attempt is done, she tilts her head back, and calls out to the bear. "Bearie, I need you here... Come between the trees, and I'll give you an objective, attack the enemies in sight."
(So I'm using the ability to set an action the bear will be taking in each of his turns... I'll add in a spoiler always a multiattack roll for the bear in case he manages to hit anything, but it can be ignored if he can't do it.)
(I don't know how exactly the bear is supposed to work while on his own command, but maybe if the DM could shed light on how they interpret it, I could more easily decide the next course of action... I think in this case with no visible enemies in sight the bear would revert to normal bearish things. (The last line reads: In the absence of such orders, the creature acts in a fashion appropriate to its nature.) This is not a hard ruling and you can argue if you think it should be something else. But here is how I interpret thing.
You give the bear an objective (in this case attack all enemies)
The bear follows the objective until it either can't anyone (no enemies in sight), or you give it a new command (I believe that a new command will probably erase the old one)
Without an objective the bear would default to one of the following. (1) Defending itself/or it's friend (you) from attacks. (2). Looking for food (Exploring). (3). Protecting it's territory/finding a mate (Exploring aggressively/attacking non-allies). (4). Sleeping. I'm thinking that if this is the case either you or I should roll a d4 to determine it's action till the start of your next turn.
Does this help? Did I miss anything? Any arguments and/or suggestions?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the beast fall, Corvin follows Velmine, moving directly west through the trees and loosing his second sacred flame at L4.
(move to J26?)
Edit: Missed that Velmine ran into another one at I25-J26, so I'll figure out what I'm doing instead since I'll run right into it as well. Move gets me to K26 and right next tot he beast, then...we'll just go with the warhammer since he's next to me.
Eiren will move southwest to the wall (I31)in order to give himself a good shot on the creature L4, drawing his bow and loosing two quick arrows into its gut.
Longbow Attack 1: 10 Damage: 12 piercing
Longbow Attack 2: 17 Damage: 9 piercing
(Regarding the bear, yeah, I would just determine what its nature is, how that nature applies to the current situation, and then act appropriately. I wouldn't determine it randomly though; I would just figure out what the bear knows/cares about, and then act on that knowledge)
Xavier will move to J22 and if he sees the creature he will cast frostbite dc 16 or take 7 cold damage and disadvantage on next attack
