Fope rummages through his bag. He remembers that some of his friends in the caravan that brought him to Daggerord told him he should have a torch. They specifically discussed it, back when he was determining his equipment. “I will figure it out,” he said. He now realizes that perhaps they were right. He suddenly remembers that, even on the "soft plains," the interior of shelters would still be illuminated by fire.
Luckily, one of his well-meaning friends put one small torch in his bag anyway. Strange that he hadn’t noticed it until now.
Sorry for the delay. I’ve been offline since Tuesday night. I’ll be back tomorrow.
The "candle" Barnaby is carrying should now be illuminating like a torch. You can continue south, or into one of the short hallways to the east or west. Both go only 10' before branching to the north and south.
You realize immediately that you are in a crypt. The northern of the two coffins - both of which are empty, apparently not (yet) occupied at all - is labeled Gustav Durst, and the southern one is inscribed Elisabeth Durst.
Your entry into the southern chamber disturbs something in the far recesses of the room, and you hear shuffling and chittering as there is movement in the dark. Roll for initiative!
Ok. I expected the summer to be a little slower. I'll also bite off bigger chunks of exploration, where I can. Instead of stopping at every intersection. We'll see how it goes.
<woot> and no worries (I hope Gencon was as fun as it sounds
Not being sure what Kif is going up against except a movement in the dark he is going to put himself between the party and the source of the disturbance and reserve and attack action if something comes near
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fope will look to slip into the shadows, while listening intently to try and determine the direction from which the noise is coming.
Fope Stealth: 26 Fope Perception: 13
Barnaby will say, Perhaps it would be wise to put the Dursts' remains into their coffins. I have read that one of the many reasons that a person's ghost will remain ill at ease after death is if they were not properly lain to rest. It says in Burgamop's famous tome, Those That Walk When They Really Shouldn't , "A Proper burial is the best way to ensure... Here Barnaby sees Fope attempting to hide, and as Fope creeps into a dark corner he looks over his shoulder with the darkest of glares at Barnaby. Barnaby immediately stops speaking and also has a good listen.

Barnaby holds the candle as high as he can with his little stubby arms.
Well Fope, stay close. Lead the way Kif.
Under his breath, What could possibly go wrong?
So Fope made a torch out of a broken chair leg and some scraps of cloth from upstairs with some cooking oil from his mess kit
That candle is no good, let's go see if we can tear one of those lanterns off the walls. Perhaps some careful axe work will do the trick.

East.
East is good.

Also, FYI, you have a new player character waiting for you somewhere in your near(ish) future. :)
Woot woot, fresh meat. Dave is on vacation in Maine this week. I don't know what his internet access is like.

Sorry, guys, I did not get my email notification that you had posted, and I must not have actually looked.
I was away this past weekend and I’m away again. I’ll be home Saturday late afternoon. Because this is combat, I just can’t do it on my phone.
Barnaby, you can go when you’re ready.
Edit: Fope and Kif, you may go.

GenCon is amazing. Anyone with any connection to any tabletop gaming would love it. It’s extraordinary.
Glad it was fun...maybe next year. I did manage to get an order for a bunch of Gencon exclusives and giveaways from Wyrd games
