"Well at least the wand will be useful." Leann says as she puts the chain around her neck. She then grabs her gear and moves to see what the others have found.
Hadar looks down at the body and points out the shoulder to the other Rangers, "A copper this thing rises to kill us all."
Looking at the lads with a half grin, then sighing and taking out his crowbar, "Better to get this show on the road, don'tcha think? Allow me to do the honors of reanimating it."
He tries to see if any contraption or trap can be discerned. If not, then he's going to try and lift the body gently with the crowbar to see what lies underneath it.
As Leann and the others look on, Hadar reaches into the Sarcophagus and lifts the mummy away with his sturdy metal tool.
Besides the stale scent of its dried flesh, the mummy offers no aggressive behavior as Hadar lifts it from the inner stone slab.
Beneath the shoulder of the corpse, what appears to be a switch is revealed.
Jimmer reasons aloud - "From the amount of scrape marks beneath the lid of the lid, I'd say that someone has opened this tomb several times. A grave robber certainly would have taken everything from the containers... so it must have been someone who knew more. There must be something to find below. What could be worse than dying in this tomb? I vote that we press the switch and see what happens."
The other humans nod in agreement and then look to Leann and Hadar.
"I am the one who just keeps moving forward..." Leann says with a raised eyebrow. "so, yes, I am all for hitting the switch. If you want to be a voice of reason, then speak up..." She gives Hader a smile. Brushing her braided blond hair back from her shoulder, she prepares to help with the coffin as much as is needed.
Still puzzled by the lack of people within this small safe haven, Ashissa places this question at the back of her mind as she begins inspecting tower of anything awry that happened while she's asleep before investigating the large lump of crusted sand Baku found before their rest.

There is a moment of silence before ancient gears can be heard moving below their feet. The sarcophagus scrapes loudly a few feet deeper into the tomb, revealing a sloped tunnel down into the cool earth.
Air rushes from the opening, dropping the temperature of the tomb considerably. Besides air and moisture, nothing exits the hole. Those with darkvision can see a nondescript shaft with stairs rounded with age descending to the edge of their keen vision. There is only more darkness beyond.
Damh raises Hadar's mace above the passageway, peering into the tunnel. "Well, there's our exit I suppose." Turning to Hadar, "I'm guessing you'll be wanting this one back before we descend" he says as he offers the glowing weapon.
FYI - the light weapon can be basically turned "on" or "off" by the holder at will.
Still puzzled by the lack of people within this small safe haven, Ashissa places this question at the back of her mind as she begins inspecting tower of anything awry that happened while she's asleep before investigating the large lump of crusted sand Baku found before their rest.
The bump in the Great Hall reveals a broken crate beneath the sand, one of the few artifacts surviving the blast. Beneath it is a great glowing stone the size of Ashissa's torso. It shimmers blues and reds and greens and seems to pulse with the Light House. It is apparent to her that this is the same type of stone used to the construct the crystal at the top of the Lighthouse. It appears to be slightly brittle around the edges and chips fall off the stone into the sand as it is unearthed.
As Ashissa inspects the area around the Lighthouse, she spots a large, gold hairpin jutting out of the sand, much of it buried. A symbol of a Boar's head is finely pressed into the top of the golden piece.
Perceptioncheck please.
To the South of the tower, Ashissa finds a trail of footprints leading off towards the South end of the chasm. It appears that these are the tracks of a group of running humanoids. There are also large, waddling marks from the huge demon following the party. All of the marks are burnt into the sand with a crusty layer and are easy to see.
Within her range of vision, Leann sees a roughly hewn sandstone hallway leading deep into the Earth and into the darkness beyond her darkvision. The ancient, rounded stairs must have seen many footfalls over the centuries. Nothing seems to stand out.
Hadar looks at Leann with a grin, "Sure, you first."
Snickers and rises, "Lived most of life underground and I can't seem much. But, yes, let's proceed with caution there may yet be traps. Those who need light, please follow behind." He turns to Dahm, "My eyes are trained to have no light. Better you keep it for now."
Hadar gets out his pole, puts it in front of himself, and takes the lead down the shaft.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The shaft is cool and dry and the breeze sends a chill down Hadar's spine. As he descends, his senses seem to heighten... the dark, deep places are his domain and it is not hard for him to find confidence in this deep passage. His Umbral vision allows him to see further into the tunnel, and he can make out a small room at the far end as he progresses forward.
The humans watch Hadar descend, wondering who will go next. Tunist gives them a skeptical eye and makes quick work of the steps, coming up behind Hadar in short order.
A soft hiss nearby is followed by a high-pitched yelp which echoes throught the tunnel. Hadar can feel something sharp sink into the back of his neck from above and Tunist drops to her hind, biting at her haunches in pain. The rusty dart she pulls from her skin is jagged and cruel, but brittle and ancient.
The sounds of crusted triggers refusing to release their missiles can be heard above. It appears that the trap is too old to fully function.

Damh, Twinly and Jimmer exchange glances of concern before Jimmer turns to Leann and sizes up her thick cloak and armor. "I don't suppose you'd like to lead the way m'lady?"
Baku digs the hairpin out, revealing a singed face below the crusted sand. It is Kat, or at the very least, her head. Her face in covered in dry blood and one of her eyes is stuck open in a ghastly stare, with crusted salt and sand beneath the eyelid. The brown iris has turned a sickly, milky color and her lips wriggle as carrion beetles make short work of laying their eggs within her.
Beneath the skull is a simple gold chain with a small amethyst charm. Her torn and bloody chest is revealed as Baku continues to investigate, the huge pits where massive arachnid legs had impaled her filled which muck and pestilence. Her silky, colorful robes are ripped and stained, and the leather bag at her side is wet and sticky. The bag is mostly full of shattered glass and ruined paper, but Baku finds a small vial of red liquid near the bottom.
Ashissa has gained a potion of healing, added to her sheet.
Meanwhile, Ashissa somehow manages to fly in a clumsy, non-stealthy manner as she heads South to the crevace where the steps lead. Luckily, the only creatures around are the rock lizards on the cliffs and birds high above.
The chasm before her is about 30 feet deep and 10 feet wide. The far end is filled with rubble comprised of large stones and sand. Along the walls of the cracked Earth, slimey residue slowly drips down the to the sand. It smells of death and bile.
The three humans enter the tunnel behind Leann, keeping a close eye on their surroundings while Damh holds Hadar's glowing mace high for light.
The cramped surroundings and sharp sting of rusty metal seem to have temporarily limited Hadar's abilities, but the burning of poison does not seem to fill his veins and Tunist takes the pain the way dogs always seem to: tongue hanging out excitedly like it's nothing.
The party makes the descent with no further trouble and they find themselves in a small chamber with a solid stone floor. The chamber is slightly larger than the tomb above, and those with the vision that will allow can see one exit into a dark hallway beyond.
As their boots lightly tap against the stone floor, a sound beyond the passage across the room begins to rise, first a low groan, then the creaking of something dry and ancient scraping along the floor beyond their vision.
Leann and Hadar see a skeletal hand grip the door frame and a ghastly face follows it, dry eye sockets turned towards the sound of the group's approach.
Five more figures slowly saunter into view, some are just bone, some covered in old, dry flesh.
"Well at least the wand will be useful." Leann says as she puts the chain around her neck. She then grabs her gear and moves to see what the others have found.
Hadar looks down at the body and points out the shoulder to the other Rangers, "A copper this thing rises to kill us all."
