Coming in on the conversation with the halfling and vulgrom, Dain gives the hafling a nod of greeting. "Wat happened ta da oter lad?" Dain asks as he takes a seat next to Vulgrom. "En wat wa da oter lad doin fer ye anyhow?"
Vulgrom brightens at the approach of a fellow dwarf, happily speaking in Dwarvish, "What other lad? Have a drink, Dain! Ye not making any sense. Here, it'll be on me. What will be? The ale isn't half bad." He gesture's to get the bar staff's attention and place an order.

Manfred studies the woman coolly, and sips his drink, keeping his gaze affixed to her. "You have the look for it, certainly. Every good act needs a maiden fair. And indeed, you will find no better instructor in all of Ethrahal than I."
He pauses, looking significantly at the two dwarves in conversation with the tavern keeper. My friends and I are on some rather pressing guild business, I'm afraid. We should be here a few days. I suppose I could spare some time to demonstrate some breathing exercises. Let's chat in the morning, lass. I shall be here"

(Well, nice to meet you, AN OLD, I'm dad-... Ahem. I mean, I'm on the younger side, still in my first year at college, and I definitely am not a dad, I just had to do the joke. It's nice to meet a variety of people of all ages around here, and I'd sure like to help whenever you need me.)
Seeing where the party was going, and feeling more comfortable close to the people she knew for longer a period of time, Aura moves toward the tavern keeper's table. Insight Check on Janice 18
She smiles slightly, though not genuinely, excellent then! I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
(You get the feeling that shes not being genuine, and something seems a bit off about her. Youre not exactly sure what, but just something about her gives you a uneasy feeling)

Tom takes a moment to stroke his chin, rubbing his fingers and thumb quickly along his stubbly beard before responding. Aye, if I remember correctly he was looking into the Miller's comin up missing. They have a farm out there past the old bridge heading north. He stayed here for a fortnight while he was, but then he aint come back. Room was like I left it almost, except for the linen. Just strange ya know?
He says before taking a long swig out of his drink. Rubbing his face again tiredly, i can tell ya, nothin bad ever happens here, and so many comin up missing lately, got me tossing and turning all night, havent gotten a good wink of sleep in ages. We're just good honest folk out here, no reason trouble should be comin around.

Insight Check on Janice 18
Thanking Janice for the soup, and taking a large swig of it straight from the bowl, listening to Manfred's greetings, and then comments. "I noticed that too. I wonder if they meant "employed" or "in town. How long did the guildmaster say they were missing? 3 weeks for the agent, probably few days to a week for the family, but it's been going on for a while right?" chomping down on a few more bites contemplatively, "It is a bit odd to move to a town where folks are vanishing, but its not like that detail is advertised before you arrive in town I imagine. Work is work."
Gesturing at her bowl of food, "I'll join you once I'm finished eating, I can hear pretty well from here but it seems rude to stuff my face while asking about vanished people. Also, I want to steal and modify the recipe." Having said that, Ashtear pulls out a small vial from her toolkit, pouring it into her soup, then continues to eat her bowl, but also take stock of what people in the inn are doing, and in particularly to see if Janice or anyone takes an extra long look at the group while they talk. -Focusing mainly on body language over anything people say.
((Not sure if its perception or investigation, since I'm trying to zero in more on body language rather than someone looking--since everyone is looking after that preformance))
10 +4 if percpetion. or +7 if investigation.
(Wow, a ton of us have Guidance. I do too. Should've snagged a different one I guess! (Guidance was what I poured into my soup and drank. I'm an alchemist~)
EDIT: as near as I can tell that d20 rolled a 15. but it completely ignores the second D4 roll I tried to do? I dont' think it combined them (hovering still shows 1d20 only). But it doesn't show me messing up a formula like it usually would. so,2 add this for Guidance. (Instead of writing them I'll just use the dice roller function in the corner when typing) Also realized it could be an insight I was trying to do? but its not l ike I was attending to her attitutde or words, was looking at body language.. But if its insight +1
(I'd argue looking for body language and Insight have everything to do with each other. I mean, if you read the description for the skill Insight, you'll see body language as one of the examples of how you'd use the skill. About Guidance, well, don't worry, not all of us have that spell. Talking about the non-spellcaster Aura here.)
Aura seems to drop a bit of her courage to speak as the bard gets closer. He was certainly more charismatic than her, so he might be able to know how to ask the questions better, but the Genasi still had one question before leaving the rest for her party members. "So, just to be clear. When he disappeared, he was at that family's house? Or, where was he? That's what I wanted to know."
Witnessing the exchange between Manfred and Janice and finding the timing of her employment and the disappearances interesting, Albanus will opt wander away to float around the bar area, trying to chat with Janice as the chance presents itself. If he can catch her attention Albanus will say, "So, fancy yourself an artist as well?" He triesto learn a bit more about her and about the Millers' farm up north - something he overheard as he passed the tavern keeper and those speaking with him on his way to the bar.

Tom nods his head and responds, aye, far as I know thats the word around the tavern. But of course none of us were there so dont really know for sure. Maybe try the guards or the Magistrates office in the morning. They might be of some help, gods know the tavern rumors aint the best to be goin on I suppose. He says rubbing his face one last time and yawning slightly. Ill probably be off to trying to sleep here shortly, me brother be here any time now, if you wanna try him, he might be able to tell ya somethin. Till tomorrow then friends.

Janice smiles as she wipes the bar top off with a rag and looks at Albanus. I'm just a spectator most of the time, but I've always wanted to give song and dance a try. Would you mind helping me a moment? I'm about to go home for the night and if you all are going to be ordering drinks all night I could use some help grabbing a keg from the shed out back, if you wouldnt mind? She says gesturing towards the door behind her.
"Ye can always buy me en ale." Dain says with a grin to his fellow dwarf. Glancing to the tavern keeper though he continues his questioning. "Al da disappearin being done by dat farm or do it be happen elsewhere as well?" He pauses as the tavern keeper mentions leaving. "En who be yer brother den? Someon knowin more bout all dis?"

Manfred will sit silently, seemingly only half-listening to the ebb and flow of the conversation and the questions between the dwarves, Aura, and Tom the tavernkeeper. As the conversation winds down, Manfred will lean in casually and gesture towards Janice. As he looks at her and sees her in conversation with Albanus, his eyes narrow. However, as soon as he turns back to the conversation, he keeps his tone light and casual.
Say, Tom. Your barmaid is rather fetching. You say she is new to town, yes? What's her story?"

Albanus is taken aback by Janice's request: not by her rather forward nature but more so by someone asking him to assist with anything that requires lifting. Feeling like his assumptions about her might lead somewhere, he responds by saying "Well, we wouldn't want my friends to go thirsty. You wouldn't like them when they're thirsty..." Before Albanus follows Janice towards the back, he cranes his neck to see if he can get anyone's attention. Anyone? Anyone? Help - follow. Look at me! Albanus thinks as he begins to follow Janice, hoping that someone sees him.
Albanus is following Janice very carefully and attempting to keep her talking throughout: "Are you from this town?" "How do you like working for the halfling?" and "What do you think of this Giant Slayer's Guild anyway?" These are the questions I will ask depending on how much time it takes to get to the shed.
Seeing Albanus disappear with the barmaid as Manfred asks his questions, Survivor will speak up, “Sorry Manfred, it seems Albanus has beat you to her,” nodding over at their retreating backs.
After ordering an ale for Dain, Vulgrom is also one to notice what's happening with Janice and taps his fellow dwarf with his elbow, "Someone's getting lucky! Well done, lad!" Vulgrom's cheers, but his eyes lock on Albanus as his attention isn't entirely on the lady as it should've been...

Tim gives you a nod, now rubbing the back of his neck. Aye, was a member of the Red Paw Paladins few years ago. Since retired and comes here to watch the place till the morning for me.

Aye, handsome lass she is. And aye, lemme see, was maybe a month ago she showed up here looking for work. Think she said she was from up way up north, though, she dont often talk about it. Got a feeling she might have fallen on hard times. Even as he says this, he slowly steps away from the table, occasionally his eyes wondering to an adjacent room by the kitchen and bar, nofhing but a small cot and table inside the small room. Hate to say but bed is calling me ladies and gents. Mayhaps over breakfast I can come up with some better answers for you. Thank you and goodnight. He says as he pushes the door open, being resisted by a pile of cloths behind the door before finally getting in and closing it behind him.

Janice smiles again and leads you out the door towards the shed out back. Only a brief walk along the cobblestone street and you can see ghe shed, doors latched tight, more than likely to dissuade any would be thieves of even trying to jimmy it open. As you walk behind her, asking a few questions, she slows her walk and responds, oh no, I'm originally from up north. And working for tom has been alright I guess. Hes not the worst employer ive ever had, that's for sure.
Nearing the shed, she pulls out a key and unlocks the lock and slides the large piece of timber out of the way so the doors can be opened. Striking a match she lights the lantern inside the shed before looking back at you. I dont think ive heard of them unfortanetly... Even as she speaks, you feel a sort of tingle in the back of your head.
(Go ahead and make a Wisdom saving throw if you could please)

As he is led out back, Albanus thinks to himself, This seems a bit odd, maybe I should wait. It is a fleeting thought however, as he begins asking Janice some questions and hearing her answers.
Following the Goliath's eyes, Manfred watches as Janice leads Albanus out the door.
"Ah well, that's me foiled, then. Friend Albanus IS a rather charming fellow. I just hope knows what he's doing." He says, his voice careless, but looking to each of the others significantly.
He waits a beat, then tries to gently kick each of his compatriots who are sitting at the innkeeper's table to catch their attention. Manfred pushes up out of his chair abruptly and jerks his head towards the door. "I think I might stretch my legs and get a quick sense of the town. Its a beautiful night if anyone else cares for a walk."

(well a tad late to the party, happened while I was sleeping. But,as I was looking for oddities and watching Janice then other folks. Ashtear would've likely followed seeing the others relatively busy).
Ashtear finishes her soup quickly as Albanus and Janice leave, thinking to herself, "Yeah, moonlit walks isn't a good idea while in "Vanishing Town". But helping a barmaid is good information gathering but buddy system." Following along, but not particularly trying to be stealthy but avoiding interrupting Albanus' inquery 11, as Ashtear doesn't find this terribly odd. Except perhaps, that she thought she'd overheard something about fetching kegs-
(clarification note."large piece of timber" LIke.. a 2x4? Or bigger? I'm imagining something bigger, which leads to ..) Seeing Janice move the large wood, "..Okay.. that's a lot of wood. How heavy is a keg? Actually why did the owner let her go alone, or with a guest that arrived less than an hour ago?" Ashtear ponders. Feeling like she's missed something, and with the earlier observations and discussions with Manfred.
Ashtear calls out to Albanus, "Hey bud, Where'dja go? The party's inside. We just got here dont' go a ladyluck on us already."
Coming in on the conversation with the halfling and vulgrom, Dain gives the hafling a nod of greeting. "Wat happened ta da oter lad?" Dain asks as he takes a seat next to Vulgrom. "En wat wa da oter lad doin fer ye anyhow?"

(Do I need to roll to kick? If so...)

Except perhaps, that she thought she'd overheard something about fetching kegs-
(clarification note."large piece of timber" LIke.. a 2x4? Or bigger? I'm imagining something bigger, which leads to ..)
Seeing Janice move the large wood, "..Okay.. that's a lot of wood.
