Is this group just for talking about making our own homebrew or can we discuss the homebrew that are in the content already?
I don't want to bash anyone's stuff but a lot of it is clearly not in scale with other pieces. The main reason it sticks in my mind is every time I look at the homebrew feats, the very first one 'A Thousand Miles' literally does nothing that just taking a straight +2 constitution doesn't do except add a weird requirement to qualify.
I've seen enough stuff in the Homebrew queue to cause nightmares for lifetimes. It is not a fun place to moderate... and I'm not even the homebrew moderator! :D
I think a nice addition would be the ability to permanently hide a homebrew I don't like, at least in my filters. I don't need something to tell someone I don't like their homebrew per se, because that may just turn into the scourge of the Internet on nothing but people having differing opinions and not necessarily the actual quality of the homebrew.
However, the ability for me just to remove the things I don't like while browsing so I don't see them anymore would be pretty cool and I think work to BigbyBear's grievance here. Just have like a little "-" symbol in a red circle at the end or something and that hides the homebrew in question. Maybe have a prompt when doing so, but if that prompt is implemented then have an option to also select multiple and hide multiple at once. Keep an option available to restore hidden items to your view, or view all but not reset your "hidden" homebrews. As BigbyBear said, some homebrew is higher quality than others (and I recognize that's strictly opinion based) which is why I'd still like to browse it, but let me hide the stuff I find lower quality to myself.
Nobody else needs to know how many times that homebrew has been "hidden", just get it out of the way, and maybe just bring it back if a new version is released of it (or have a toggle to bring it back if updated or not).
That's a good suggestion. I was more just wondering if we could discuss other people's homebrew here or if it's only for those who are doing the homebrewing. I saw in one of the megathreads they eventually intend to have an upvote/downvote type thing on homebrew. Maybe just hiding it would be the more socially friendly option.
Echoing what Subs said. If the rules were around homebrew needing to be balanced and logical... well it would be a lot quicker to view the homebrew listings. :P That being said, there is also some AMAZING homebrew that individuals have created, and we are hoping to be able to showcase some of the standout ones as well.
We are going to be implementing a commenting system on homebrew soon (I believe it is going to be after we release Homebrew Subclasses, but should have more info from the team once it's ready to go). This will allow direct communication with the author.
I'm liking the idea of being able to hide something from the listings (would need a way to unhide probably from your account settings), will pass that feedback on.
On a similar vein, I could see a feature hiding all homebrew by a given author seeing use. (And alternatively, following an author who makes consistently good homebrew in order to be notified whenever they publish something new.)

You could simply have a filter option with "show hidden", rather than an un-hide in account settings. Thus the default would be to show any non-hidden homebrew (IE. if (hidden != true) display; ), while if you then selected the "show hidden" filter it would show everything be it hidden or not, or even just a list of what you have hidden, letting you turn off the hide flag.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of
