What is likely to happen form legacy 2014 subclasses re: class features that change from 2014 to 2024?I’m thinking of the MetaMagics that have changed, but I expect that there are others that are going to run into similar problems.I’m not 100% counting on those being preserved with the subclasses, but then I also have the impression that those are not things that can be homebrewed. I'm I right about this, and there a workaround (on dndbeyond)? I predict bad news and then a "no", but thought it would be worth asking.
You can use any official content that you have purchased as the template for any homebrew. This does not apply to any official content that is shared with you through content sharing. You could technically make homebrew copies of most every background, feat, magic item, monster, race, spell, or subclass, with a few exceptions. Some things that have been coded into their system in the back end aren't available as templates, such as the Fey Touched or or Shadowtouched feats.
This whole thing is just bull crap. I am probably going to switch to roll 20 because of this change.
I mean at some point wizards/hasbro needs to figure out that the lies and underhandedness needs to end.
I run a almost weekly game of 5e for 6-9 players and have been for 3+ years. The only reason that I use this website is because I don't have to make the basic content. And for the prep time it saves me, but now that they are removing it there is literally no reason to stay it takes enough time already just to homebrew with this very limited and clunky system and now I have to make the basic content in addition to everything else!?!
Who ever thought this was a good idea is the second most foolish person in the company's resent history to try and kill their own business.

Base classes cannot be home brewed. You can however recreate base class features attached to subclasses though:
