So, I love dnd. More than that, I love seeing how other people use DnD. I find alot of fan content on places like drive thru rpgs and other sites. I feel like these ideas need to be seen by this site, as I feel the site could always use more creative spark. THAT being said, is it wrong to put others people's content on here that is
A) not already on here
and
B) giving the credit to the original creator of the content?
Please excuse me for being a noob or what have you, as I am being sincere in my question,
So when you say publish, what do you man exactly? Cause if I cannot put them on the site, I won't. I just wanted to shed light on others homebrew stuff that might not be on here.
If you create a homebrew that you keep private just for you and your friends that’s no problemo. If you try to share it by “publishing” your homebrew, that’s the problem. The reason being that it isn’t your homebrew, it’s someone else’s
I really don’t know how to explain that any better. If you create a homebrew it offers you the option to “publish” it. That’s the name on the button. It is also the legally correct term.
If those folks wanted their stuff published on this website, then they are more than free to come here, recreate their stuff and publish it themselves. You however, are not free to publish other people’s stuff.
You can create whatever homebrew you want. If you want to click the link "Share with the community", you better be the owner of that content.
I've recreated a few dozen subclasses from a few different dmsguild projects, but I can't publish them as I'm not the original author and content owner.

You can make any darned thing you like as homebrew as long as you DON’T PUBLISH IT!
If someone else created that content, and you publish it, that is both illegal and against DDB policy.
