After making sure the other side of the bridge was clear, Randall responded to Bow, “Agreed, let’s get the refugees over the bridge as soon as may be. While they are crossing we can discuss what surprises we want to prepare for the goblins.”

As he hurries the refugees across the bridge, Randall asks of everyone, “Any oil or pitch or anything flammable you have, leave it at the middle of the bridge as you cross. We will buy you as much time as we can with steel and fire. Pass it on!”
Looking at the swimming refugees with concern, Randall says to his companions, “if we take down the bridge too early, the goblins will just swim across. We should lure a sizable portion of their force onto the bridge and engage them for as long as we can, then set it on fire as we retreat. Hopefully that will delay them the most.”
OOC: How wide is the bridge (how many people or goblins across can fit? I am thinking retreating along the bridge while attacking from a distance, then lighting up the flammables in the middle once we can’t slow then down anymore.

(OOC How long before the two Goblin Hordes are within about 1000 feet of each other and will that be during the day or night?)
"I have an idea that's just a tiny little bit deranged" Grim says "I'm thinking about finding a position halfway between the two groups and firing arrows intended to look like their coming from the other Goblins. If successful, they may spend some time fighting each other before they figure out what is going on."
“You’ll need goblin arrows for that to work.” Petcan will set up for a fighting retreat across the bridge at the back of the refugee pack.
(I figure Petcan has a LOT of fire spells, including fire bolt, control fire, burning hands, scorching ray, and Gust if he really gets it going. We could light the bridge at the bottom, and maybe the first few goblins won’t even notice)
"Randall, if you're going to wait till Goblins are on the bridge before setting it on fire, I'm going to try my idea. If I don't make it here before they do, go ahead. If I'm still alive, I'll find another way across. I'll head away from the bridge an equal distance between the two groups and camouflage myself as best I can. I'll fire arrows at the North group and try to recover as many arrows as I can that are fired back at me and fire them at the South Horde, then do the same with the arrows they fire at me. I can fire up to 600' with little chance of hitting anything, but in a crowd that big, who knows. The point will be to get them firing at each other. If that starts, or if it looks like it's not going to work, I'll head for the bridge" Grim explains.
“That could work, Grim, but it sounds really risky. Are you sure you want to try it?” says Randall with concern, “We will have to set the bridge on fire before the first goblins reach the pile of flammable items, or they could just hurl our oil into the river. While the goblins may be able to swim across, their siege engines are another matter entirely.”

For reference, Ceo is offering to cast Charm Person to turn the leaders against each other.
