Redbrand 4 fires off a quick bolt at Marten, who receives half cover from the bugbear, but the shot is true (20 to hit / 6HP piercing damage). The Redbrand then runs back the way he came, and is now out of view.
Marten: Round 2
The crossbow bolt thunks into Marten's shoulder, but thanks to the blessing from Daphyra earlier, he barely feels it. With no time to look around and see how the others are doing, Marten just tries to get into a better position where he's not in danger of being thrown into the crevasse again. He stabs at the bugbear with his shortsword. Then, feinting as though he's going to follow that up with a stab from his dagger, he uses that moment to scramble backward and squeeze past / under Berry. He says, "Back to the pillar, Berry."
As he moves, he sheathes his dagger, and then he turns to get ready for whatever comes next, already starting to reach for his bow.
Movement: 30' to L7 (or K7, if he cannot make it to L7) J11 >> J10 (diff terrain to pass Berry) > J9 > K8 > K7 > L7 Action: Action: Attack, Shortsword: 7 Damage: 9 Bonus Action: Cunning Action, Disengage Free Action: Talking, Sheathing shortsword
Daphyra cries out with pain, but keeps her concentration on Shield of Faith surrounding Marten. She calls to the others, "Sorry to add to the amusement everyone, but there's a spellcaster down there!"
She shuts the hidden door, wedging it shut with a crossbow bolt, and moves closer to the action but staying behind the boulder for cover. (J7)
Nosam hoped to block their ability to cross the bridge, but only 2 made it across. Nosam keeps his focus on what's in front of him and hopes the others won't need additional help just yet. He targets R1 and swings the hammer rather clumsily.
Movement- just in reach to attack R1
Action- Attack R1, to hit 6 (1+5) Damage 8 (2+3+3)
Daphyra wedges shut the secret door while Marten retreats from the bugbear after it parties his attack with its bracer. Nosam strikes at one of the Redbrands but fails to connect.
Now the bugbear roars a crackly shout, “Taggar!! Vonk!!!,” while pulling a morning star free of its binding on his back. He unfurls the spiked balls on their black iron chains with a quick twisting motion while closing with Berry, then whips the weapon up and across at the fairy barbarian. (18 to hit for 9HP damage).
Berry, Kiselina and Vidruth may now act in any order.
vidruth sees the swing about to hit berry, and shouts, the sound distracting the bugbear as it strikes, he then breaks into a run along the side, launching a hastily formed bolt of flame at th redbrand he previously targetted with ice
moving to F12 abd casting firebolt on R1 (to hit 12 damage 2) and im going to drop the bugbears attack roll to a 7+bonus using my portent

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?
quote from Romantically Apocalyptic byVitaly S Alexius
"If I retreat, they'll just be free to move where they please. The chasm doesn't seem to stop them!" Berry replies to Marten and drops his whip to draw his scimitar. Then, he grabs his shield from his back and pulls it over his head and while he brings it down and dons it, he uses the momentum to jump into the air and over the bugbear's head just behind him (to J13). Hopefully, Marten, Vidruth and Daphyra can get unobstructed shots at the bugbear and he can discourage the third redbrand from shooting at Nosam's back.
Vidruth’s firebolt misses, splashing against the cavern wall, but his portent comes true, giving Berry a warning and allowing him to evade the bugbear’s attack before moving to J13.
Kiselina’s halberd lances outward, impaling the red-cloaked fighter, who topples to the ground then rolls away dead into the crevasse.
Redbrand 1 shifts away from Kiselina, while still battling Nosam and engages Vidruth in the half-orc's new position, lunging twice with his short sword at the wizard (18 for 3HP piercing, 9 (miss)).
Redbrand 3 drops his crossbow in alarm as Berry flutters overhead. He draws his short sword and lunges once, missing but drawing Berry closer, then striking again, 21 to hit for 6HP piercing.)
The one-eyed creature follows Vidruth’s movement with the glowing green orb of its strange eye, and must climb out of the crevasse to keep the wizard in sight. But then it seems to shiver when it is on ground level, flinching from the armed combat, and disappears down the stairway at E5, ending its turn out of line of sight from the cavern chamber.

Marten: Round 3
Marten is relieved that the bugbear didn't follow him yet. He drops his shortsword so that he can switch to his bow. Fitting an arrow to the bow, he steps forward past the pillar again and targets the bugbear while it's still distracted by Berry's acrobatics. Feeling bolstered by Bahamut's blessing from Kiselina, Marten takes aim for a deadly shot just like he did with Klarg in the forest.
Marten lets fly the arrow, and then he calls out to the others: "Kis'lina, Berry, can ye get t' the bridge?" He's worried that Taggar and Vonk are the other two bugbears, and they may be joining the fight from the western tunnels at any moment.
Movement: 30' moving forward to target bugbear B1 and then back to L7 (L7 > K8 > J8 > K8 > J9, counting it as 30' since on a diagonal) Action: Attack B1, Shortbow (80/320): 21(in game log) Damage: 22 (in game log) Bonus Action: Cunning Action, Hide - Stealth8 Free Action: Dropping shortsword at L7 and drawing bow
The attack and damage rolls were easier for me to resolve in the character sheet roller. Here's an explanation:
Attack: 18+5 attack, +3 bonus from bless, -5 sharpshooter penalty to get bonus damage Damage: bow 3+3, sneak attack +6 because Berry is within 5' of B1, sharpshooter +10

Nosam’s hammer clips the Redbrand for 5HP, but the mustached man dodges a killing blow follow-up attack and keeps his footing.
The bugbear is impaled in the small of the back by Marten’s shot. The creature stoically responds with nothing more than a stifled shout, hacks up and spits dark blood, but its big eyes twist in rage as its Morningstar whips out at Berry again, but with a 13, the attack is too slow to catch the fairy off-guard.

Berry easily avoids the bugbear’s strike but is much impressed how easily the creature took Marten’s arrow. That shot was well placed and timed. Unfortunately, his momentary distraction cost him dearly and the redbrand found a gap in Berry’s defense. ”Argh,” mostly in annoyance he admits to the hit that didn’t quite penetrate. In hopes to finally finish off the bugbear, he lashes out with his scimitar (hit 16 for 5 slashing damage), so that he can concentrate better on the redbrand.
Vidruth’s firebolt engulfs the bugbear across the crevasse, and the creature, severely weakened by Marten’s bullseye, now grunts loudly until a scream is ripped from it and the smell of burning hair makes a noxious cloud. The bugbear falls, keeling over into the crevasse.
As the wizard then backs away around the pillar, the mustached Redbrand quickly lunges (AOO), striking Vidruth with a 16 for 5HP damage.
But at that moment, Kiselina’s halberd slashes out with amazing force, separating the man’s leg from his body at the hip. Screeching in agony, the Redbrand falls, bleeding out as he continues to scream. The paladin moves to G11.
Berry slashes at R3 (since the bugbear has fallen), and smashes away the heavy-set man’s short sword, following with a quick followup, drawing a line of blood across the Redbrand’s forehead for 5HP.
One-eye now peeks over the stairs, and Daphyra falls under its withering gaze, and its eye seems to throb, seems to pull at the harengon’s mind, shriveling her very being with its awful gaze. Daphyra: make a CON save vs DC12 or take 10HP necrotic damage. The creature then backs down the stairs again.
Redbrand 3 strikes at Berry twice with his short sword, missing both times (11, 10).
Two more Redbrands now appear at the top of the stairs where one-eye just disappeared, carrying crossbows, grimacing angrily. They both release bolts at Daphyra, one going wide, the other hitting her armor with an 18 for 5HP damage.
You hear an angry roaring shout of pain from the base of the steps at B13.
You are now situated like so:
Daphyra, Marten, and Nosam may take Round 4 actions in any order.
Nosam asks Berry if he's good or if he wants the dwarf to cross the bridge. "I'll hold here for now!" The incoming reds have no clear entry into the chamber and will be met by at least 3 of the party, 4 if you include Marten's range, quickly.

Marten: Round 4
Seeing the bugbear tumble into the crevasse, Marten figures that Berry can stop the Redbrand from coming at them from that direction. Realizing that he's not well-hidden from the new opponents from the northern tunnel, Marten moves north toward the "loot" chamber, firing an arrow at one of the Redbrands (R5) as he goes. He calls back to Kiselina and the others, "We got two Redbrands 'n' Mr. Stink-Eye in the northern tunnel." Once he makes it into the loot room, he uses the wall and the angles to hide from their opponents in the crevasse chamber.
