Daphyra peeks out from behind the rocks, scanning the other cave entrance. She cautiously moves slightly out into the open , stepping gingerly over the dead wolves so she can see it more clearly, ready with Toll the Dead once again.
Movement: to N12
Action: Toll the Dead - held until a goblin is in sight. (if undamaged it takes 6 necrotic, or if it has less than full hit points it takes 7.)

Round 11: Marten
Marten hopes that their successful attacks will dissuade the goblins. Seeing Daphyra move into the cave, Marten steps out of the briars and toward the creek. He waves a hand toward O15, saying quietly, "Nosam, make way for Kiselina." As he wades past Vidruth, he says, "Vidruth, you can fall back to the thicket if'n yer magic can reach that far." Marten exits the creek on the other side and tries to press up against the cave entrance. He knows that he'll be back-lit, but as he draws another arrow from his goblin quiver, he hopes that he can use the cave wall as cover from any goblin archers. (OOC: Marten wants to press up against the west side of the cave entrance, leaning into the tunnel just enough to see up to where G8's body is. He tries to maintain 3/4 cover if possible, just showing as much of his body as needed to make it possible to use his bow. He'll kneel on his left knee with his right leg standing in the creek, if needed, to see around the outcropping at the cave entrance.)
Marten is still focused on the area where G8's body is, but with his 300' darkvision, he tries to keep an eye on the path up toward P6, too.
Movement: M16 > M15 >> M14 (diff terrain) > L13, ending at L13 (I think, see above) Action: ready a ranged attack against the first goblinoid he sees Free Action: talking Reaction: Action: Attack, Shortbow (80/320): 21 Damage: 6
Berry: Move: lower to 25 feet height / rest (Round 3/60) and watch/listen/sniff around, Perception: 12
(OOC: Not sure if you want to give a more realistic chance to finish the short rest with occasional fights, but I think, otherwise, one hour would be 360 rounds.)
Berry remains on his tree, though, he grows uneasy. More and more of his companions are drawn into the goblin hideout and he isn’t sure what he should do. He won’t stand much punishment from goblins but neither do most of his friends. Perhaps, he should just join them and go down fighting together rather than being picked one by one. “Hey,” he calls down, “What’s the plan? Do we enter or do we stay outside?”
vidruth prepares another firebolt while looking questioningly at the rest of the group ''Ill follow whatever orders i get" he states "but not having orders is foolishness, and leads to death. i would suggest we lay traps and wait for tthem to exit, but that lays much in the hope this is the only way out"
prepare firebolt, {attack 24 damage 8}

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

“I’m with you, Vidruth,” Berry chimes in. “The goblins are more coordinated and organized than we hoped. Perhaps, we do our best to block this exit and rest nearby while making sure none get out. I fear much for the goblins’ prisoners as this drags out but there isn’t much I can contribute right now.”
Kiselina sees Daphyra reposition to have better LOS up the tunnel. He, however, doesn’t move. She may have crossed his path, but he still has access to the spots he’s watching. Should an assailant try to close with her, he has her covered. If she’s unfortunate and goes down, he’ll be right there to heal her.
No change to actions. Reaction: Attack target at M10 or N11 (To hit: 22, Damage: 8)
Movement: M16 > M15 >> M14 (diff terrain) > L13, ending at L13 (I think, see above)
Once Marten is in position and ready, he says, "Mistress! You speak dragon, dontcha? M'ybe ye could talk to the dragonborn without givin' the plan away to the enemy? Is he comin' out? Or does he want us all to join him in there?"
Daphyra: move to N12 / Toll the Dead - held until a goblin is in sight.
Marten: move to ca. L13, ready a ranged attack against the first goblinoid he sees
Berry remains on his tree
Vidruth: prepare firebolt
Kiselina: ready attack vs target at M10 or N11
Nosam: (bot:) dodge
Round 11 Results
No enemies are spotted and no attacks are triggered. We will say that you hold in place for a full minute, senses focused and alert, bowstring taught, arcane energy swirling. No new enemies reveal themselves. Nothing happens.
(OOC: The area beyond O8 is not visible from farther away than N9, the spot to which Kiselina moved earlier, and there, spotted the rope bridge crossing over the creek tunnel.
Marten is in L14, the spot Daphyra previously held, as there is not room for him in L13.
@Cyreon, we were both wrong. 10 rounds in a minute x 60 minutes in an hour = 600 rounds for a short rest. However, if you are resting, you cannot take actions, such as initiating perception rolls.)
(OOC: If you decide to retreat and leave the area completely, we can pull out of turn-based play. Until then, we will pull in and out of — but remain essentially in — turn-based time.)
“Thank you for replacing Nosam here. I wouldn’t have returned if the dwarf hadn’t overstayed, or if I had known he was moving out after I did. But, there is an advantage to not giving up the ground we’ve gained. If we leave again, we will be fighting to retake these same positions and with the varmints having the time to reenforce their locations.”
“I didn’t want to be in this position, yet here we are. What say you on the situation? How are you feeling about our chances in or out of these warrens?”
The Paladin will keep his back to the cleric while keeping watch on the trash hole at the far side, wondering how much longer his blessed Darkvision sight will last.
Berry stays put, observing Marten, Vidruth and Nosam, and waits for a response to Marten's question. Perhaps he could take out one or two goblins before they get him but they don't know how big this cave is and how many goblins there are in there. Anyway, there wasn't any movement for some time now, maybe there aren't many of them left or they fortify their own position and wait for the party to run into their arrows, or they simply wait that we leave.
Daphyra replies to Marten. "I do speak Draconic, but I'm not sure what plan we are running with. What would you like me to relay in Draconic?"
Daphyra replies to Kiselina, "I don't know much about fighting, goblins or their warrens. I have spent most of my time in the city, and the worst I really had to deal with was violent drunkards who didn't want us to bring them to the temple for their own protection. I am quite out of my depth here!"
She keeps scanning the tunnel and sniffs the air periodically.
"Should we retreat and rest?"
Movement: none
Action: held action of Toll the Dead triggered by the appearance of a goblin. (wis save DC13 or take 2damage if already damaged, or 4damage if not)
Daphyra replies to Marten. "I do speak Draconic, but I'm not sure what plan we are running with. What would you like me to relay in Draconic?"
(No problem! 🙂)
"Nothin' to relay, Mistress," Marten says. "Jus' tryin' to keep the group together. Does Kis'lina want the whole group in there, or does he plan to come back out here?"
vidruth attempts to hide, and watch the cave without the cave watching him back, before he does so he taps the nearest party member: nosam, on the shoulder "im going to try to hide, not great at it but goblins aint great at anything"

Round 21 Results
Kiselina moves to O12
Vidruth moves to N16, we’ll say, near where Marten had so cleverly hid before. Unfortunately, part of Vidruth’s patchwork overcoat sticks among the briars, and unbeknownst to the half-orc, makes his position fairly obvious.
Nosam moves to Vidruth’s side at M16 and turns south, away from the crag entrance.
Enemies
No enemies are spotted and no attacks are triggered. We will say that you hold in place for five full minutes, senses focused and alert, bowstring taught, arcane energy swirling. After five minutes in one spot, holding for the first sign of an enemy, concentration starts to become a question. The last slow showering of motes of tree pollen just in front of your face, and a few butterflies drifting on the breeze, and the lulling sound of the water splashing down the creek passage threaten to absorb your attention. You must shake your head, close your eyes for a moment now and then, to clear your sight, or release the arcane buildup before it becomes toxic, before refocusing your vision and magical senses.
Marten: [no specifics, but seems to remain where he is]

Then he'll flies towards the creek and sits on the cave mouth a feet or so above the entrance proper.
Move: hovers to N15 (10 feet alt, 20 feet movement) to speak, then to N13 (10 feet alt, 10 feet movement); Should more than a turn pass before I get a chance to post again, Berry will enter the cave to Q13 (landed) and continue to rest there, looking towards the goblins' escape tunnel. Free: speak
