“I’m staying, getting ready to do something, give me a few seconds” Kiselina replies to Marten’s inquiry. He lays hands on himself in preparation for a short foray into the unknown (1action).
He knows the enhanced vision won’t last forever. He’s feeling better at his chances to at least get some information about what lies around the next corner. The shield will make him harder to hit. He’s pretty sure with the additional healing he can take a single hit that makes its way through. He readies himself to move up, look/attack what he can see, and retreat back to the kennel. He adjusts his grip on the javelin but also breaths deep as he prepares to exhale his breath weapon if several targets are available.
He opens his eyes and turns to move when he sees Marten seeding the floor with something, right in the path he was planning on using.
“In Bahamut’s name, what is the reasoning for this?” He wonders to himself.
Action: LoH for 3 hp. (All subsequent actions and movement held till Marten finishes with what he’s doing.)

Nosam holds his ground for now and goes back and forth from watching the action at the entrance of the cave and the goblins to the south. If they advance up the tree line Nosam plans to get an opportunity attack on them.

“These caltrops complicate my path, but it must be as Bahamut planned” the Paladin thinks to himself. He waits for the rogue to finish laying the trap and for Marten to move out of the way. He then moves out of the kennel and up the tunnel. He had wanted to get a better view of the western passage, that will have to wait a few. He enters the stream and keeps his shield side against the wall, prepared to avoid as many hits as possible.
If he doesn’t see anything dangerous up the creek path, he will pie-the-corner to get a look up the western tunnel where the goblins have been attacking from.

Round 72: Marten
Marten finishes spreading the caltrops, trying to make the kennel chamber easier for them to defend while the group rests. But as he stands and turns to go into the kennel chamber, he sees Kiselina wade into the creek and head upstream. Marten asks, "Kis'lina? Where ye goin', man? I thought we were gonna rest here while it's quiet."
Marten waves Daphyra and anyone else coming into the cave toward the kennel chamber. "Daphyra, take 'em into this chamber but keep an eye on that fissure in the far wall until I can lay a trap there."
Then Marten turns to look up the tunnel again. He nocks a goblin arrow and gets ready to follows Kiselina in case the paladin gets ambushed by more goblins.
Movement: Standing, still at N11, trying to use the north wall of the kennel chamber's entrance as cover Action: ready an attack on the first goblin he sees, focused on the tunnel opening to the west (L8 & M7), but shift toward the creek to get an angle up to O8 Reaction: Attack, Shortbow (80/320): 16 Damage: 8 Free Action: Talking
Berry: hovers to N15 (10 feet alt, 20 feet movement) to speak, then to N13 (10 feet alt, 10 feet movement); Should more than a turn pass before I get a chance to post again, Berry will enter the cave to Q13 (landed) and continue to rest there, looking towards the goblins' escape tunnel.
Vidruth: ready to shoot at anything that shows up Attack: 20
Daphyra: [no action posted]
Nosam: [remain hidden], watching the two points
Kiselina: LoH for 3 hp / Move to M9, if creek path is clear… pie-the-corner to get a look up the western tunnel.
<Sound of DM rolling dice.>
Round 71 Results
Marten succeeds in spreading caltrops at N10.
Berry moves into the kennel chamber and lands.
Vidruth, Daphyra and Nosam remain where they are. No enemies show themselves.
Kiselina: the western passage is steep, crooked, and choked with rubble. A faint, flickering glow of reflected torch light can be seen licking the far end. [Kiselina already LoH as his action. He cannot also dodge.]
You are now situated like so:
Please post for Round 72 [Except Marten, who has already posted.]
As Marten finishes the trap, Daphyra starts to head out of the cave back to where the others are waiting, but notices Kiselina is also heading towards the tunnel.
"What are you doing?" she whispers loudly. "I thought we were resting first!"
Movement: To N13 if she can squeeze into that space.
Nosam advances to the entrance of the cave while keeping his primary focus to the rear. "Nice work Mister Marten, I'll be sure not to step in the mess ya made up ahead. You planning for us to take a brief rest around this corner?"
Movement: To N12? (wherever he fits in the cluster of players and bodies)
"You planning for us to take a brief rest around this corner?
“Are we all resting Master Nosam?” His glare turns to look upon the dwarf.
(Ooc: he will continue to talk into the next action, but I’ll hold here as it appears we are back in 6 second round time.)
"I can take a brief one or stand guard for those who may need it more than me. I know I'm in no shape to charge in to the unknown; one well-aimed arrow or smack in the head might be my undoing."
The adventurers congregate in the kennel chamber, perhaps laying caltrops on the refuse mound in addition to those on the creek passage path that Marten has already placed. One of you keeps an eye turned toward the steep west passage where the pinned goblin corpse begins to slowly droop toward the floor. Were those a pair of glistening eyes that appeared beside the dead goblin and locked with yours for just a moment, or was it your imagination? Hard to tell, it happened so fast.
Someone else keeps an eye on the cleft over the garbage heap. No light or movement at all.
Time passes, a little over an hour, and you remain unmolested in the kennel chamber, tending to wounds, resting, stretching out aches, meditating, or whatever restores will and energy to your character. (OOC: And you may roll hit dice as desired to regain lost hit points.)
Kiselina will have retrieved his halberd.
The creek continues to gurgle and splash. You notice the light cast by the sun into the crag’s maw has moved from the creek floor now to fall on the easter wall of the cave mouth. It is now mid-afternoon. Only a few more hours of daylight, maybe four, before the sun sets on this early day in Eleint, The Fading, the ninth month of the Calendar of Haptos.
Here is the current battle map. I have placed you in no particular order in the kennel chamber.
Having accomplished a Short Rest, what do our heroes do next?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Refreshed from the rest and eager to get going again, Berry suggests, „I could scout through this chimney again.“ He takes a look inside and notices, „it’s really dark in there, before there was some light. I don’t think sneaking with a torch would be a good idea, I would need to go carefully, hands first.“ He considers his own proposition, „Perhaps, it’s not such a good idea, given what happened the last time.“

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Daphyra muses. "I can see really well in the dark. Maybe I should be the scout this time, even though I'm not as stealthy as some of you, and yell back to you all to light the torch and run to help me if something happens?"
"Miss Daphyra, I can assist with darkvision as well; my eyes ain't the best, but I should manage in here."Nosam feels much more lively after the brief stop and he is itching to finish what the group has started. "We planning on pushing further into the cave now? Prefer my brute strength and charming good looks up front or to the rear?"

“Going to be a tough fight and slow progress up the western passage. These goblins will hit us and retreat the entire way.”
“Half of us will need to see, I can light the lantern, or a torch. It’s the carrying it that’s the concern. I’ll either be less armored or less armed if I’m carrying it.May not be a problem depending on our marching order.”
„I could hurl a torch a few feet in front of us and light it up, then again. So no one needs to carry it and there wouldn’t be a torchbearer who attracts fire. Perhaps someone else has a few tricks, too, to hassledazzle the goblins somehow.“
