Eiren Arcana check: 9
(Eiren will inform the others what he discovers about the magical pool)
"Shall we proceed onward? Through the white gate?" Eiren indicates northwest. Once everyone is gathered and ready to proceed, Eiren will use one of the magic urns to grant the whole party fire resistance.
After opening one of the urns allowing everyone to partake of the magical essence held inside, Eiren moves over to the White Gate and uses his Glyph Key to open it. However when the gate is opened instead of revealing what lays beyond Eiren is greeted by this sight...
Directly ahead is a broad archway of dimly glowing green stone. Inside it is a field of dead gray mist. This mist prevents you from seeing anything past it.
Do you want to proceed through the gate? If yes then do you want to change the marching order as Eiren will have to be last to keep the gate open? Here is the current order with Eiren in the back.
Eiren will first toss a copper coin into the mists and listen for a clink, to estimate how far it travels before hitting something.
Whether or not he hears a sound, Eiren will pass one of the Iron Golem Foundry glyph keys to Xavier. "Keep the gate open, will you? I'll try to enter first."
Eiren will then tie his rope around his waist, and asks Corvin and Baik (the two strongest members of the group) to hold the other end. "I'll give this two sharp tugs every several seconds. If you don't get two tugs for more than say...12 seconds or so...pull me out?"
Eiren tosses a coin into the gray mist and hears it clink off some stones. Handing the glyph key to Xavier he moves through the white gate with a rope tied to his waist. As soon as he exits the white gate a strong force tries to pull him into the mist.
Eiren make a DC 20 Strength save
On a failure Corvin and Baik make a DC 20 Strength save with advantage.
Eiren gets violently pulled into the gray mist, pulling Corvin after him. Baik manages to avoid getting sucked into the mist after them. He momentarily believes that he will be able to pull Corvin snd Eiren out of the mist, but then the rope goes limp and Baik is hold a shorter bit of rope.
Baik, Velmine and lastly Xavier need to decide if you are going to follow them into the gray mist. If you do Velmine and Xavier also needs to make a DC 20 Strength check.
Velmine rolls her eyes after being left on her own at the back of the group. "I think the answer here is obvious..." And she goes right in with the rest of them.

Eiren comes tumbling out of 3 of the mouth of a gaint fiendish skull statue (number 2 on the map), falling prone and taking 4 bludgeoning damage. You need to make a DC 15 Con save or take a -1 penalty to Condition checks and saving throws. You notice that the rope has been severed a few inches from your waist.
A couple of seconds later Corvin comes tumbling out of 4 of the mouth of a gaint fiendish skull statue (number 5 on the map), falling prone and taking 4 bludgeoning damage. You need to make a DC 15 Wis save or take a -1 penalty to Wisdom checks and saving throws.
He is quietly following by Baik who walks out of the number 2 mouth, looking like he hasn't suffered any ill effects.
About 30 seconds later Velmine comes tumbling out of 3 of the mouth of a gaint fiendish skull statue (number 4 on the map), falling prone and taking 4 bludgeoning damage. You need to make a DC 15 Int save or take a -1 penalty to Intelligence checks and saving throws.
After her follows the Mastiff who comes tumbling out of 5 of the mouth of a gaint fiendish skull statue (number 5 on the map), falling prone and taking 5 bludgeoning damage. (Mastiff Strength save 11, sorry I forgot to roll that first. It didn't make the save) The Mastiff lands heavily on Corvin, but manages to survive the fall. Velmine roll a DC 15 Wis save for the Mastiff or it takes a -2 penalty to Wisdom checks and saving throws.
Last Xavier comes tumbling out of 6 of the mouth of a gaint fiendish skull statue (number 4 on the map), falling prone and taking 4 bludgeoning damage. He lands on top of the Rogue in what might be considered an awkward position. You need to make a DC 15 Int save or take a -1 penalty to Intelligence checks and saving throws.
After you all pick yourselves off the floor and look around you see...

In the center of the chamber is a Black Gate. However the Black Gate here doesn’t exude shadowy energy that you have seen around all the other Black Gates.
After you roll your saves (expect Baik dosen't need to make a save, so he can just post) you can post any actions you want to preform.
After you all pick yourselves off the floor and look around you see...

"I don't like this...didn't we all come in one gate? But this gray mist, whatever it is, seems to have dropped us in this room from different angles..." Eiren will indicate the place on the map. "I wonder if this gate is the only way out?
Seeing that there is no shadowy energy coming from the map, Eiren will try and activate the black gate using his glyph key, seeing if he can open a portal back to the iron golem foundries.
