Eiren you seem to be the Leader, which White Gate do you want to try first? There is one to the north between two bone piles, one to the Northeast behind some trees, and the one you investigated to the Southeast.

(The identify spell is the fastest way to reveal an item’s properties. Alternatively, a character can focus on one magic item during a short rest, while being in physical contact with the item. At the end of the rest, the character learns the item’s properties, as well as how to use them. Potions are an exception; a little taste is enough to tell the taster what the potion does.)
"Well, I took it from the pile of bones over there, as for what it is, I have just as much idea as you." Velmine examines the vial, with not exact certainty on what it could be, she decides not to taste it... for now.
Velmine looks confused, but then she hands the potion. "Sure... I thought I was the one without fear in our group, but since you're so eager, go ahead, if you die because of it, I hope you at least know you've been warned..."
"Oh, then I know it's not for me... I'm all about dodging, and being bigger doesn't really help me with that, I'm fine with my current size..." In these circunstances, Velmine doesn't take back the potion she found, letting Eiren hand out to whoever he thinks should take it.
With the new question in mind, Velmine shares her opinion. "Sure, we can go for the middle way, not like it matters. We're just randomly picking out of three options, when we have no idea what's on the other side."
"Ah good point...according to the map, that would be the Forest of Death. Sounds friendly enough! Let's be extra sure to stay out of the trees there, hmm?"
"It's a white gate, so we shouldn't need the key to get in." Eiren says. "Still not sure I understands the whole gate key thing."
(For White Gates you need at have a at least one glyph key for the two zones it connects. In this case The Forest of Recovery and The Forest of Death. You have a glyph key attuned to the Forest of Recovery so you can get into the Forest of Death, but to continue moving forward you will have to find a glyph key attuned to the Forest of Death, or return to the Forest of Recovery.
For black gates you only need a glyph key attuned to a zone where there is a black gate. You will know which zones you can open a magical portal to any zones that you have access to.
There is a small area in the Forest of Illusion (south of where you first spotted the Hook Horrors) that you haven't explored.)
