Anafrey would let out an annoyed growl and begin picking up 8 arrows as her equipment fails her for what seems like the hundredth time in the past two days... but her mood would seemingly changes and she gets a smug grin on her face when Erric lands his attack and reveals one of the chests to be different in some way. "HA! Told ya! Yeah I don't think we want to touch the sticky chest... maybe hit it a few more times from a distance after we check out this other normal chest" She would say as she finishes putting her arrows in her quiver.
"I agree, let's rope up and send someone down there to look at the chest we think is real. I can cover you from here," her hands sparkle with energy, "But I'll be no good on the rope."

You don't detect any traps. The only apparent danger is the floor below, and that's only dangerous if you fall.
Erric, you wrap one end of a rope around your waist, hand the other end to someone, and begin climbing down. The roughness of the walls provides ample handholds and places to put your toes. You climb down with relative ease.
Erric, you walk over to the chest, walk around it, scrutinize it, poke at it with your rapier, and when you finally decide it seems OK, you try to open it ... but it's locked.
Erric turns around and is about to say "it's locked," but then swallows his words. "Hmm, seems stuck. Let me see if I can get it loose."
From a pouch tucked deep in his leathers by his side, he slowly and cautiously pulls out a set of thieves tools that haven't seen use in a while. Trying to remember the bits of half-lessons he'd picked up several years ago from unsavory types, he takes out some lockpicks, hunches over, and begins fiddling with the lock.

Anafrey would let out a small sigh and shake her head a bit. "Hold on" She would say as she wipes the hair from her eyes. She would then climb down using the rope that Erric had used to reach the chest and quickly take a swig from her flask before putting her hands on her hips. "Alright, move aside.. " She would say as she holds out her hand waiting for the tools. She would then go to work trying to unlock the chest.

OOC: welp.. that is embarrassing. Also i apologize for slow response, it has been a busy day.
Anafrey also works and works for a long minute, and she is also unable to jimmy open the chest. It could be that the lock has become corrupted over time, making the lock picks insufficient.
As they wait above, Jambiya and Maldorn hear Ebokk talking softly, but they can't make out his words. Maldorn glances back to see the dwarf fussing over his supposed father's corpse.
Erric pauses and waits for Anafrey to pause. He tries lifting it to see how heavy it is. If it's light enough he will suggest the two of them carrying it away, to the rope, hauling it up, and out of the cavern.
"Also, we might find a key for it anyways. I might be able to wiggle it open if we rest a bit and practice with my... fingers. Should we see what the deal is with the other chest? Let's throw some other things at it to see if everything sticks to it. It might be magically sticky for all we know and none of us wants to stay down here for a long time. Where Ebokk by the way?"

Erric volunteers to tie up and climb down to take a look.

Erric walks over and examines the chest, eyes and ears open for anything hinky, and if it looks good to him, he opens it.
Maldorn holds on to the rope attached to Erric, curious about the bard's potential findings.

After about a minute of trying, Erric finally gives up. It seems it's been too long without any practice to keep up his skills.
Jambiya looks over at Anafrey with a raised eyebrow, then nods towards the chest.

(Can Erric try again? Or was that a total failure... if yes, he'll try again...)
(Guessing not because he took a minute, but worth asking!)
Not before you've taken a short or long rest.

Jambiya sighs. “I guess we could try to pack it out of here...”

"We could just smash or break it open, right Anafrey?" Erric says up to the huntress.
"Yeah... why don't you help me to bust this open.." She would say before stomping on the top of the chest.

"Is that really... remember the mirr... oh, fine, it's all right," Jambiya ends as Anafrey stomps on the chest.

Anafrey and Erric begin wailing upon the chest, using hands, feet, and weapons. Amazingly enough, it remains whole. It's a well constructed chest!
