Does a moonstone have any magical properties? I’m OOC remembering something about dreams. Erric would also take a lot of time on the journey to really examine the ring and bracelets and the other items unclaimed to see if they are notable in any way shape or form. If not he is fine selling them.
If we are staying in Waterdeep overnight he’d want to see if Skadoula has any other wisdom about Anafrey’s necklace and situation. He’d also be gently asking Anafrey about the dwarf and flindbar to see if he could learn the story. And if they are there in town anyway, he’d see if Eilikasys was around, still curious about what she knew about him, but hesitant to get involved with her odd manner.
Anafrey would First stop an apologize to Thrakks mother for making a mess of their house again Whike she was there, she would ask if she knew of any way to remove a soul from an item.. to resurrect a person whose soul had been imprisoned within a cursed item... and also look to buy a longbow to replace her shortbow
At the livery, Ebokk asks the party if they'd like to stay the night at his house before they begin their return to Seldom Spring, and they decide it is a good idea. A few of them have errands they'd like to run.
With nine blood hawk beaks, 18 claws, and a pile of feathers burning a hole in his pocket, Maldorn inquires about a place to have arrows made. (Maldorn, roll an investigation check. Roll a second investigation for selling the moonstone.)
Erric, the only thing you've heard about moonstones having special abilities is that the mere sight of a moonstone is said to cause a were-creature to shift to animal form, and that if a moonstone appeared in a dream, it is a warning of danger. As for the ring and bracelets, they are just jewelry, as far as you can tell. (Roll an investigation check to find someone to buy them. I assume you'll wait until you arrive at Ebokk's to ask about Skadoula and Eilikasys.)
Anafrey, you accompany Ebokk back to his house. (Go ahead and roll a straight charisma check just for fun.)

Here’s an investigation check for the hawk arrows: 7
I’ll wait a moment on the moonstone in case Erric interrupts Maldorn regarding the gem’s other uses. OOC: does the group think we’ll need to transform a werewolf on command?
No, Jambiya has no plans for Waterdeep (or Neverwinter), she doesn’t mind the delay (even suggested it) but she is increasingly focused on going home.
(She will take time to learn about her new boots and attune to them.)
She is grateful for the offer of lodging at Ebokk’s family home, and is gracious. She is excited that Snap is back, and entices him with morsels and treats, and scritches.
But she has nothing to add to the group’s stay.
OOC > Took the ASI, all on Charisma, tired of the low save DC on her spells. Got some new spells, too, and chose not to change her invocation load out (she can change one invocation and one spell at each level up). Added Infestation and Misty Step, fwiw.

Erric's fine with selling the moonstone! Investigation for the pawn shop: 2
And I also took the ASI to Charisma -- Erric's a very suave fellow now. Still settling on spell addition, but may do invisibility since he's been sneaking around a lot. Then again he's also the kind of the party healer so not sure. May swap out suggestion for something else.
And yes, asking about the two mysterious old ladies after we get there.
I had not thought about Anafrey keeping the sword since she didnt pick that boot. Inthinknif someone offers toilet her keep it she would but otherwise she would let the owner decide to do what they want with it
Erric, you ask Ebokk if he knows of a place that would buy the moonstone. He doesn't, but he asks one of the livery's hands, and he points Erric to a place nearby. It turns out to be a good reference. Erric is able to sell the moonstone for 80 gold. The elf is also interested in the ring and bracelets. He says the ring is platinum and pays Erric 50 gold for it. The bracelets are silver, and he pays six gold for the pair. When Erric off-handedly mentions lycanthropes in reference to the moonstone during the exchange, the pawn broker chuckles. "Right, lad. And garlic wards off vampires." The process takes very little time, and Erric arrives at Ebokk's soon after Ebokk, Jambiya and Anafrey do (leaving you with about half a day).
Ebokk invites the two females to make themselves at home after Tairdai welcomes in the trio. Ebokk asks after his mother, and the female dwarf says she is upstairs. Jambiya takes Ebokk up on his offer to rest, and she heads upstairs to the room the party slept in previously to rest and play with Snap. Anafrey mentions that she'd like to speak with Esmet. Ebokk hesitates, then nods wordlessly, and the two of them head upstairs to find Ebokk's mother.
Ebokk leads Anafrey further down the hallway than she had previous been. Along one wall is a set of double doors. Ebokk knocks and waits until a muffled reply invites them to enter. The room they enter is large, but not huge. It is plush and finely decorated, but also slightly shabby upon close inspection. But it appears comfortable. When Esmet sees that it is her son and not Tairdai entering, she is struck speechless. He begins speaking. There is a short exchange about him returning, reporting on his own health, asking of hers. She is stiff at first, but then warms as Ebokk doesn't show any sign of running away or being angry. Just when it appears the two are beginning to show real feeling toward each other, Anafrey decides this is her moment. She interrupts to apologize, giving a short, cryptic and somewhat confusing explanation for the events that took place downstairs not long ago. The more she speaks, the more Esmet appears to button up once again. She finally fizzles out, and the three endure an awkward pause until Ebokk finally informs his mother that the four adventurers would be spending the night before heading back north in the morning. Ebokk and Anafrey leave. Anafrey finds Jambiya in the room.
Not long after, Erric arrives. Ebokk explains that it probably isn't a good time for the halfling to speak with his mother, so the bard asks Ebokk about Skadoula and Eilikasys. Ebokk says he could send a runner, but Erric should inquire one at a time in case they are both available. Which first?
Maldorn, you, however, spend the rest of the day hiking from shop to shop. Some locations are no help at all except to send you to another. A couple are actual fletchers, but when they look at the materials, they say they're not prepared to make such exotic arrows. You head back to Ebokk's in the evening with nothing more than another place to check in the morning.
I guess Maldorn retroactively hands over the moonstone to Erric so he can complete the transaction. The bard is bound to be much better at this than the ranger at any rate.
A little frustrated about his failed shopping day, Maldorn does little upon arriving at Ebokk's. He washes for the night, checks on his companions, and settles in for what he hopes is dinner judging by the savory smells.
Tomorrow is another day. He'll resume his search then.
27 gold, 2 silver for each party member from the sale if we include Ebokk.
Erric would check with Anafrey first, to see if she'd like to see Skadoula to talk necklace and flindbar and her future. He'd offer to go see if she's willing to talk to Anafrey, or accompany Anafrey to the woman's house if she'd like. If he does talk to her, all he'd want to ask her about, again with a bit more time, was about what Eilikasys is about and what she wants, and if Skadoula would recommend Erric seek her out. If she's just an odd old gnome who was messing with him or has nefarious plans, he'll steer clear. But if Skadoula thinks that it would be good for Erric talk to her, he'll do it. He immediately trusted Skadoula, right off the bat.
Other than that, he'd just want to wander through some curio shops to see if anything interesting like the items his companions got from the boots and the ogre might be hiding in a Waterdhavian shop.
Anafrey would let out a long sigh after leaving Ebokk's home. "It feels good to get that off my chest... yup.. all is forgiven now.. that went smoothly..." She would say to herself while shaking her head. When Erric mentions seeing Skadoula about the necklace and flindbar, anafrey agrees. She would also go looking for someone that might sell longbows and possibly some more arrows as well.
Erric asks Ebokk for directions to Skadoula's so he and Anafrey can pay her a visit. It's about a 45-minute walk to her home near the Market, but the directions are pretty straightforward. On the way, the two happen upon a shop selling weapons among other things, and Anafrey is able to purchase a longbow. (Add whatever you purchase — longbow and arrows — and subtract the gold. Erric, roll an investigation check for finding "anything interesting like the items his companions got from the boots and the ogre".)
The outside of Skadoula's home, a thin, three-story home with several shuttered windows, is almost completely covered in ivy. If it weren't for the front door and the two chimneys sticking up, one might mistake it for a mound instead of a dwelling. Erric knocks, and a thin human man answers. Erric and Anafrey identify themselves and ask to see Skadoula. He disappears inside briefly before allowing the halfling and white-haired woman to enter. They are ushered through the first floor of the house, out a back door and into a small walled courtyard, and finally to a separate building in back. Inside the much smaller building, they find Skadoula cooking in a separate kitchen. The old woman smiles at the sight of the pair and has them sit at a well-worn table. She continues cooking, stirring pots, adding ingredients, and taste testing as the three of them speak. Skadoula does take a break to touch and consider the necklace as the tale is told. She smiles at it, but shrugs a little, saying it doesn't seem particularly magical to her. "What of the weapon?" she asks, very interested. "Where is it now?"

LOL! “I’m sorry I unceremoniously slashed your son’s throat just the other day, Mrs. Mother of Thrakk!”
I mean Ebokk:)

she/her
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands.
(OOC: Anafrey would have also spent some time attuning to the necklace that saved her)
(OOC: Anafrey is keeping the magical short sword too, right?)

Alright. In that case, investigation check for the moonstone: 4
OOC: Make it three ASIs for the group. A bump to Maldorn's DEX modifier sounded like the best option. No spell changes for him.

Maldorn had suggested it but I don’t think there was ever a discussion. I assume Jambiya has the sword since she picked that boot.
Jambiya has no use for a short sword, so she would have handed it to Anafrey as soon as Maldorn indicated she might we able to use it.
