Watching Jambiya thank the beholder, Maldorn mimics the act thinking it appropriate since he followed the goblin girl's lead and also stepped on some tiles. "Thank you, Nyquil." he says, completely unware of the fact he butchered the beholder's name.
Ebokk follows them across waiting for his turn to step on the tiles and leaps off the tiles at the last row as they complete the puzzle. Making sure hes not on the tiles to long.
Well done Jambiya! he shouts out. We didnt get burned this time.
He looks back at Xynkil still not trusting them. This was the trap? Didnt one of you say you only watch this part of the place? You cant follow us now?
Erric, the next hallway is loooooong. Ten feet wide and magically lit (as the others were), you're not sure how long this hallway is, but you don't see an end. You do not hear, nor do you smell anything. One thing that sets this corridor apart from the others (aside from its incredible depth) are the arms and armor that adorn the walls — though most appear to be more cosmetic than functional.
The sets of armor, are they all sized for the same sort of being? Or are they all varied? Is there any sort of progression, like from simple to fancy, or leather to plate, or something like that? Jambiya imagines in her head that these are the cast offs of the brothers, as they found better and better armor.

If Maldorn was suspicious of the last hallway, he is definitely warry of walking down this one. A variation in the length of the corridor is a significant change, as is its new decorative style. Once they advance slowly through the corridor, the old ranger is careful to take note of anything that might suggest a trap.
-> If Sagitta is able to provide help by way of smelling a scent or gas, or even just noticing something through his limited blindsight, then here's a second roll: 10
Jambiya, you don't work out any kind of pattern or progression, though the suits of armor do all appear to be for "bigger" folk like humans and elves. Sometimes it's a full set of armor. Sometimes, it's just a couple of swords crossed and hung together. It does give off a little more of a storage room feel rather than a treasure or display room.
Maldorn, you don't see anything that would indicate a trap. And, as far as you can tell, Sagitta isn't spooked by anything.
“Um...” Jambiya gives the idea some consideration. “Maybe if the situation calls for it? Right now it feels like not being able to see one of us would be more problematic than helpful. Also, I didn’t know you could do that! You’ve really learned a lot recently, I guess visiting the big cities has been helpful?”

Ebokk will follow along, hes busy taking stuff out of his bag. Almost forgot i had thesehe says with a chuckle
He pulls out a little box with instruments. A set of thieves tools. He takes out the mirror and starts inspecting the arms and armor on the walls to check for hidden mechanisms.
Ebokk will be in his own bubble as he does this humming a bit every now and then.
He will try to see if the armor on the wall is part of some kind of trap: roll with prof for thieves tools 9. Hmm shame

The party moves into the hallway, Jambiya leading the way with Maldorn and Erric following closely behind. Ebokk is lagging a little; he stopped to examine one of the suits of armor for mechanics. Just as the dwarf decides there's nothing to see with this one, he hears what sounds like a metal footfall behind him. There is then a quick succession of sounds almost at the same time. The sound of two suits of armor moving and the ringing sound of smooth metal sliding against smooth metal is accompanied by exclamations from the trio ahead. Two suits of armor — one between Ebokk and the other three and one in front of Jambiya — have stepped away from the wall on their own and turned to face the trio. Also, four of the decorative swords have left the walls and are hovering in the air — two each near both sets of armor — and are now pointed at the trio as if invisible warriors are preparing to strike. (The suits of armor themselves are holding no weapons.)
The party rolled well on initiative and can go before the suites of armor and swords. The official order is Erric, Ebokk, Jambiya, Maldorn, armor, swords. All of you may post your Round 1 turns, and if anything needs to come before something else, I'll take the initiative order into consideration.

"Why are we being attacked? Have we done something wrong?" Maldorn wonders. He then adds: "I don't think I'm well suited for this fight. There's no meat under the armor or wrapped around blade grips for me to aim at..."
The ranger will, nonetheless, shoot an arrow at whatever enemy the spellcasters decide to target first.
Jambiya feels affronted at this turn, she has been nothing but pleasant and proper in this place, and that they should be attacked. She growls in goblin, points her witchy stick at the oncoming suit of armor, lifts it and brings it down, fast. The hairs rise on everyone's arms, and a spark runs along the stick, then a slash of lightning leaps out to strike at the armor!
Action: Cast Witch Bolt at the suit of armor in front of her. 14 to hit, for 12 lightning damage. If it hits, it lasts 1 min or concentration, and she can use an Action every turn to inflict 1d12 more damage.
OOC > Sort of an all or nothing spell... here's hoping for all! edit: well, fudge. That isn't going to hit anything.
Erric would have inspired the brilliant Jambiya, so if the DM would allow, he still does that, and perhaps she could decide to use it to add to her roll? No worries if not. And he would just inspire Ebokk.
He then raises his hand crossbow to shoot at the suit of armor ahead of them
Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Then he stows his crossbow and draws his rapier and dagger, preparing for the metal monsters to get up close and personal.

Xynkil replies to Ebokk, "We have our places. No, I will not be following you."
"Should we expect to come across more beholders like you?" Maldorn ventures. "Do they always keep getting bigger as we progress?"
Erric looks into the next hallway. Does he hear or see or smell anything?
Xynkil does not respond to Maldorn's question.

Maldorn follows the goblin girl, keeping an eye about. (Perception: 8)
Waiting to find out if Erric and Ebokk are following along.
Erric is happy to follow along closely or go first! He asks, "anyone want to be invisible?"
"Hmm... I'll pass," Maldorn answers the halfling's question.
