Reeling from the laceration Graxx gave her that almost gutted her, Neya is surprised that she's still on her feet.
"Sorry, Graxx, but something needs to be done about that sword. I had hoped you would break from its spell on you on your own. I also apologize about the headache." She says just before trying to knock him out.
Both Doozey and Neya insist on bringing Graxx down by force.
The halfling shoots a second bolt, loading it with some extra lightning punch at the cost of some of his blood. The projectile is aimed at the barbarian's other arm, and only grazes its target (Graxx takes 7 piercing and lightning damage, already halved to account for Rage).
The monk also follows up with three accurate punches. She aims two at Graxx's stomach and one at his temple, hoping to knock him out. However, it would seem the barbarian is stubborn in more ways than one (Graxx takes 11 magical bludgeoning damage, already halved to account for Rage).
(Graxx is up next. He needs to roll four WIS saving throws {DC 15} to see if he is changing target. Then, Utar can take his turn).
Graxx stumbles back and his eyes set on Doozey for a short moment before turning back to Neya. He looks as if he is about to fall over at any moment. Graxx shakes his head and screams...
"TEMPUS!" he screams in last defiance.
Graxx once more brings his blade down upon Neya recklessly and with great weapon mastery.
Graxx keeps his eyes trained on Neya. The monk had hoped to knock the man down quickly, but instead he continues to fight back. Neya dodges an upswing of his blade by sidestepping it, but Graxx follows that up by grabbing the sharp edge of the blade and locking the monk in a bear-hug of sorts. The sword cuts deep into her back and Neya falls limp to the ground due to shock (Neya takes 27 magical slashing and radiant damage and is unconscious, incapacitated, and prone. She must begin rolling DEATH saving throws in her turn).
Having had enough of this infighting, Utar tries a different approach at bringing the conflict to an end. He calls on his deity for a quick blessing of accuracy and punches Graxx on the nose (non-lethal damage). Already quite hurt, the barbarian's brain shuts off temporarily (Graxx takes 2 bludgeoning damage, already halved, and is unconscious, incapacitated, prone, but stable).
"Finally... Woof. Bloody fool. Mr. Utar, I trust you have Ms. Neya well and good, ya?" Doozey says as he put away his crossbow and made his way over to Graxx. "But that was too close..Mn... Okay, I'm gonna try to move this as far, far away from him as possible -- Don't wake him. Until we know for sure, and are done talk'n with the dragon, best he sleep for a bit." This he says as he unlatches his rope, and starts trying to carefully tie the rope around the sword handle without touching Graxx's sword overly much.
Doozey and Utar agree to divide and conquer. While the halfling deftly ties a rope around Graxx's black blade's hilt, the half-orc approaches the bleeding monk. Neya's blood continues to pour out of her body and Utar decides to act quickly. Calling in a healing favor this time, he restores his companion by closing her wounds and making sure some color returns to her checks (Neya heals for 15 HP after failing one DEATH saving throw).
"Maybe not, maybe not. But.... no. No buts... I'm done with those, as much as one came be." Doozey glances nervously back at the waters. "I'm not gonna be fast enough.... Gotta try." He hurriedly winds the rope and hikes up the blade so it at least didn't scrap too hard against the ground. "I'll trust you'll learn the whole story. But, if you can ask about the Redfoots... where they came from, it'd be 'preciated." He said as he at least to tried to hurry out before the dragon arrived on the scene.

After her wounds mend, Neya wakes up to Utar and Doozey dicussing what to do with the sword and asking questions of the dragon. Those, and a dull pain in her side.
"*groan* If you're talking about who could remove the sword from here. I could do that." She says as she gets up.
"I recall wanting to know about your brother, Doozey, but I don't know what sort of answers you are looking for. As for me, I don't have any immediate questions for Derannos, myself. I also think I need to contemplate about what just happened, and try to find out what to do with this sword in the long-term. "
Doozey hesitates for what might've been a moment too long. But with its passing, he nods, and would just mutely hold the rope for Neya to take hold of. "Be swift, and BE careful. As straight with us Mr. Derannos has been, all dragon's share in the greed. And I'd hate to find out what sort of bane this might become in the hands of such of being." He admits, and with an awkward but grateful smile, he pats Neya on the leg prior to her speeding off with rope and blade.
Utar checks on Graxx next. The man is battered but breathing, and in no real danger of stopping to do so. The half-orc's healer experience tells him that his zealous companion is likely to eventually wake up on his own, though it might take a few hours. Trying to make sure the fighting doesn't immediately restart once he does so, Utar reaches for Graxx's backpack and pulls out his manacles. He applies it to the unconscious barbarian and keeps the key handy, for when it is needed.
Doozey begins to walk toward the cave's watery entrance but is interrupted by Neya. They agree that the halfling's presence is best spent here in the dragon's lair, while the monk takes over the responsibility of taking the black blade as far from Graxx as possible in the time they have. Neya admits wanting to think about what to do with the sword in the long term and, as she says this out loud, a thought occurs to her.
@Neya:
Though this is the first cursed item you have seen in the flesh, you have heard about them in general terms before. In fact, one of the teachings of the Silent Wood regarded the temptations of evil beings and artifacts. It is said they are easy to embrace and hard to escape from. You start doubting that something as simple as physical distance will change Graxx's inclination toward the weapon. If anything, you are probably just making it more likely the barbarian will leave the group in search of his sword, especially if he still believes it to be a gift from Tempus. A more permanent solution is likely to be the wiser approach.
With that, the group spots Derannos' majestic crest swimming back in their direction. Within instants, the nimble swimmer flings itself out of the water and lands gracefully on the stone island it had been standing on previously. It notices with no delay Graxx's unconsciousness: "I see you wasted no time in dealing with the misguided one. Tell me, was it my hint that led you into action?" the dragon fishes for a compliment.
Doozey barely even tried to hide the incredulous look on his face at the somewhat preening dragon; but, neither did he hold on to it for long prior to simply shaking his head. "To tell you the truth, I doubt any of us noticed. Subtly of that sort isn't in our nature on the best of days. And as you can see, we are no less exhausted than we were the last time you saw us, Mr. Derannos." Doozey sighs and rubs the back of his neck.
"But I thank you all the same for trying. And if its all the same with ya, we would hear your story now. As well as something about the Redfoots after, if'n you're feeling generous enough. Right, Mr. Utar?" He turns back to regard the Half-Orc.

"Doubt he's going to be in a better mood when he wakes up."
Shaking out his hand, he lays them onto Neya's wounds. His amulet glows, as do the monk's wounds as the flesh knits itself.
Casting cure wounds at third level. Neya recovers 15 worth of hp.
Graxx moans unconsciously.

"You could stay. Ask about your family yourself, seems like the kind of thing you be here for."
Utar starts to pat down the various pouches and pockets that litter the frame of the barbarian, searching for the manacles he knows Graxx owns.
