Liadon is disinterested in the driver and his statements until Iam asks about skulking on rooftops. The only reasons Liadon can think for this are criminals looking to burglarize a property, or guards looking for criminals trying to burglarize a property. The former doesn't concern him, but guards looking for "suspicious persons" now would make his new plan extremely difficult. For all he knows, the guards could be looking for Liadon himself.

Mungam says "Captain Deadeye? Of course, that missing fellow from this morning, I've been hearing that word gone around. I've been organizing some things, but I was just about to hop on that myself. I could use all the help I could get to find him, he's not an easy man to pin down, and it's not my first time trailing him- Whoops, that was suppose to be confidential, but anyway. I would happily work free of charge."
" On one condition." says the woman above., hopping down from the banister and climbing down from what's left from the rope on the ceiling. "We get to keep his Crux." Roll history or Arcana to try remember if you've heard of something like that before. "Also, you gotta help us with getting that from him, too. Probably just on his dead body anyway, considering a captain usually goes down with the ship."
Roll: 15
She raised a brow.. "And why would you want a captain's crux?" her tone slightly wary. Her quest for work seemed to be getting more and more twists in the skein as it went from asking a simple question in a bar, and now to be helping a supposed detective and their assistant retrieve something from someone she was looking to work for, who might be possibly dead? Oh this just got better... "If we're going to be working together, then I would ask that everything be laid on the table. I just came looking to find a lead to get work on a ship. This seems to end up being much more than what I expected. If there be something more on this Captain Deadeye, I only know bits and scraps from the tales of deckhands and midshipmen. If there's something more, and you want my help? I want to know what I'm getting myself into." she grinned.
"You want to help in ways you can see. You know that research helps. But you don't see the results. Might not even hear how they have helped. I would not be surprised if information you found did much, but those who used it never thought to tell you of it. And there are those who have, I'm sure. You want to be of use. But not for yourself. For others. You want to get your hands dirty."
Noldeme looks surprisingly confused at what the kobold was asking her, but when Nae speaks, though, she chuckles at the idea that the kobold was actually trying to compliment her and then sighs relieved when she's finished. Dordissees the now active device, and speaks to Lucy in particular without looking back at her, "Thank you for the patronage and promise for further information, but can I excuse my presence for the moment? Dordis nods while also bowing via having a foot crossed over another in the sense of obligation to do so, and begins walking towards Leshanna, catching the tail-end of what she spoke to the barkeep. He replies to her with, "From my experience, Leshanna, I believe I have seen these devices to be similar of chests that store items within them. I do not think of them to be able of harming unless if it directly affects one of its features although it can be dangerous," Dordis stretches out for a moment before fixing his noble green robes, and taking out the black book from before and then continues. " Perhaps the people should not be within its vicinity at the least, I can work with the object since I am a proper and confident student of the college of magic including the arts of such."
Dordis strides over to the device, looking through his notes and examining the object before leading to touch the exclamation-marked button. His pendant glows a dull-silver hue, and he mutters a word which invokes a sort of guidance, aiding Dordis via swirling around the device to show certain properties that may be interesting to his trained eye.

You move forward toward the castle in the distance. The kobold asks to Xamodas "When do you think I'll be ready for what's inside?" To be fair, a spellbook is not a good place to start learning to read, but you imagine using at as a teaching tool for magic would not be hard. It will be a while before Vir is ready to read it by themselves.
As you walk, you notice every now and then, you notice some creature stalking you, but some seem to be naturally weary of you, more than likely due to the dragon by your side. Vir points to a stream on the ground. "Follow upstream, and we will reach a river. " Although, walking to the castle based on sight alone seems to take you upstream anyway. The hills can vary quite a lot in height as you walk, some of the hill tops even have shoddy bridges going across, which creak and groan horribly. On crossing one, you notice that below, a brook passes through what looks to be a collapsed structure of some kind. You all know that the wilderness of this continent is relatively unexplored, so those ruins are most likely untouched.

You follow a dirt road through a lightly forested area, although, before too long, the time of day is just right...and the shadow of the tower passes over you. Slowly but surely, it goes from shady to near pitch black, although it's not too much of a problem for the two of you, but your line of sight quickly shortens. Twill, not being sure asks. "You got eyes that can see out here? I got a torch if you need one." You look up, and notice there is light above you. The moon and stars are out, despite it being daytime, and the moon is directly overhead. You think you see a streak of light from the sky, a shooting star- suddenly, you hear what sounds like snapping branches nearby, and a hefty thud, like a tree just hit the ground. Iam and Liadon: " I had the same question my first time around here; them's just the locals." says the driver. "Some of the stranger locals, back home I we would call them 'Kenku', but then again, they ain't quite the same. Given the name of this whole place, I get how they might be considered nobility and all that, but none of them's in charge, they just roost around here. Say, you (Liadon) know anything more about em'? You live around here, right, so one of them must be a neighbor or something." The driver seems to be telling the truth, there is a chance he might be on too you after you observed them. This would be a good time for Liadon a history check...or a deception check. Corvidae - THE Crow bar:
Dordis waves a hand...yes, the device can be loaded with something somehow...you imagine the switches involve whatever is inside, so of course, the buttondoes something with that. The displays with numbers probably count whatever is inside for knowing when the button can be pressed to do...whatever it does. Confidently, Dordis pushes the button. After holding it down for a bit, it clicks. You feel a pulling wave of force, knocking over chairs and pulling in a few unattended glasses on nearby tables, drawing them into the center of the circle before they vanishes. Then, with a blinding flash of energy...in the center of the circle, there is a single bullet. Fantastic. All of the screens display 0, and and all of the lights turn off again.

"Woah, alright, that's enough of that!" shouts Lucy, alarmed by the sudden mess you've made. "I don't really know what you just did, but I'll give you credit where credit is due, you technically did something with it, which is the best I've seen. I was pretty sure something was missing from it to make it work properly, or at least make it work. Still think it needs it, but hey, guess there are some workarounds."
Corvidae - Wagon Park:
Zacharias: "Ah, I don't know, that weirdo we fought certainly seems to check all the boxes, but he says we should finish what we started. I don't know, I guess there could be two warlocks, but that doesn't sound likely at all, I guess he probably wanted to see the man himself or something. Really, by the port you say? If you have a lead, by all means you should follow it, but I'm still pretty beat up from the fight we had, and where Connor goes, trouble seems to follow, especially if he isn't telling us about it. If you'd like, I could find someone to go with you, or at least meet you there. Any sort of preferences you have?"
Blackport:
It's not quite the best information, most of it is just fluff, you doubt whoever is casting these matches has any sort of solid statistics. Regulars aren't exaclty a thing, unless they win by a landslide, everybody get's wounded every now and then.
However The next match is apparently against 'Chopper' who is a hefty half-orc who is more than good with an axe, and you know has a reputation for giving his competitors a swift beating. Up next, a newcomer, apparently a light blue skinned tiefling, who they seem to be calling Blimp (Blue-imp, you guess). Based on what you've heard, sounds like just another rouge with a dagger who wants to prove himself against a larger target, but then again that isn't always the worst plan. You hear something which sounds like a just a brief comment about him, the tiefling seems almost too confident to go into the ring, but he isn't cocky.
Greenport:
Your elf friend scratches his head, you guess he never learned what a Crux was in wizard school. "I would like to know what I'm getting into as well, you should explain to us a bit about this, and I'm certainly intrested in hearing about this Crux thing, sounds like it's powerful, but so do lots of things."
Mungam grimaces when Sarah speaks "Now, I wasn't going to spill all the beans, but now I guess I don't have a choice. Sure, let me pull out my file I guess." He moves over to a filing cabniet, and flips through, grumbling. He pulls one out, flips through it, and brings out a sketch. Dark skin, short hair, a bold face, and one of his eyes is completely whited over, like he were blind in that eye. "Malcolm 'Deadeye' Blake, from what I've heard, he's in a very weird spot as a ships captain. He has quite the reputation for acting outside of the law, but at the same time, he is notable for going after pirates specifically. He has quite a few debts he needs to repay, hence how I've gotten mixed up with him. A few of them he's apparently repaid in blood, in fact, he's been marked as deceased on records many times, but he always comes back, new crew, new ship, time and time again."
Sarah says, pointing to the sketches eye. "I figured out that eye of his ain't just blind, it's a proesthetic, and he constantly brags about how it let's him see his fate. Gotta be a Crux, but unfortunately, my second story work hasn't paid off in getting me close enough to snatch it. However, if there were some way to get close."
Mungam says exactly what you need to hear. "I already have a plan, of course." he sit town in a large spinny chair, obscuring himself. "If he does have some way to come back, or is just still alive, he is obviously looking for a crew in secret, probably just a small one of...oh, you know four or five?" He turns around, and he wearing a tricorne and an eyepatch, with a fake bird on his shoulder. He gestures to the lot of you. "So, in a way, you would be getting work on a ship, but only to help me assess the man, for the sake of my previous clients, reclaiming this 'Crux' he supposedly has, or any other assets he might have to whoever he owes it too."
Faksimile - Temple District - Grand Abode:
Ulrich: "Sure, I guess it's something like that, but doesn't everybody think that way?" She lies down across her couch. "I guess my stuff could be useful to others, but I don't know if I ever think about that as what drives me. I just imagine myself a happier person in the future if I find what I'm looking for, that's all. I do wonder if it has been put to use anywhere, maybe for something. Hasn't there ever been something you wanted to do just for yourself-nevermind that's a silly question, anyone devoted is suppose to cast those feelings aside, perhaps to become an aspect and only serve others." She sits up. "I'm sorry if this is rude to say, but I'm not sure if your the right person to be talking to about this. You know, lot's of clerics share your exact same sentiment, that the more you help others, the better but...I don't know, aren't you ever worried that makes you less? That if everything is done in service of others buisness, are you no different than any tool, a hammer, or worse, perhaps just a single nail? You aren't worried your being may be no more than nine inches of iron in the wood beam of the universe?"
"Yes, I can see just fine, otherwise I would've mentioned it." Voldred manages to say before the crashing tree interrupts him.
Perception check (with advantage): 19
"I think it's coming from over there." Voldred points out as he becomes tense. "Keep your guard up, if it's not friendly, and it can fell a tree, we might be in trouble."
Dordis seems to be intrigued by the machinations and effects the device had as it produced the bullet. He turns to Lucy, however, after hearing what she says and now obviously deducing the knocked-over chairs and missing glasses to be from the device's magneti effect when activated. He solemnly looks at Lucy with his green eyes, and speaks, "I—had no deductive clues that it could harness such an effect, even my own knowledge lacked the response. If there are any reparations to be done, I will have them be settled with my father. Otherwise, I do think what I activated is the right-path to seeing what I can do with the device next, in an open area that has easier variables to work with. Thank you for letting us use this device, and I am sorely a disgrce to my nobility." he courteously bows to Lucy, feeling hurt with his actions. He continues to bring out the blue-leather dyed book, however, and sketches the device whilst keenly noting its mechanics and a descriptive box which he will fill in as time follows. "Leshanna? I think we did the most we could do. Perhaps we should go enjoy the festival for a few hours before returning to sleep here? Redeem your bond too, by the way." Dordis throws the bullet with minimal power, but dextrous handling towards Leshanna. Now consulting his notes, his pendant pulses with galactic bodies and celestial stars, feeling invigorated and renewed with a sense of power. He feels that his body has now become agile after recent comings, and his nature becoming more confident and fluid. However, he can feel deep-down that a voice resembling Soltris calls for him to rest soon, as he could brush up and improve on some teachings that Soltris has provided in the past.
He clutches the rounded-star pendant, and mutters a word to invoke magic. Tendrils of celestial power emanate from his pendant come out to bring guidance thrice whilst he draws the device.

"Kenku. I have never met one, but my memories tell myself they are extremely cunning and adapt at mimicry. That they are extremely skilled at using their Cunning to adapt what they mimic to seemingly unconnected situations, but are some what limited on creating something entirely new. It occurs odd to myself that they would become your nobility. How did it come about?" Iam will ask. He continues to pay attention but at the same time continues to try to show no reaction to Liadons deceptions.
Leshanna takes the bullet and looks it over. Is there anything special about it?
She would redeam her bond as well, giving the other a nod for the suggestion.
"I have no interest in the festival." She would say though and leave it at that. Tucking the bullet away she would nod to the tavern owner and head up to her room.

Dordis makes a hasty retreat to Lucy as he nods, rushing to take a room key or whatnot to follow Leshanna. His notes are consistent enough, but obviously still have lacking details he must work on. Nonetheless, he edges behind Leshanna, trying to be quiet in his step whilst he pockets the blue-leather cured book. He waits for Leshanna to enter her room and then will enter as well.
Leshanna would block the door, giving him a raised eyebrow. "It is normally good manners to ask permission to enter a woman's room..." She remarks as she looks up and down the hall. "Why are you following me?"

Liadon finally recognizes them now that the driver has spoken, but that doesn't bring him any relief. {Liadon History: 6} The Kenku have been known to spy for their "owners" and wily Caretakers. They can be easily bribed, assuming you have a trinket or bauble more "valuable" than what they were paid to spy. He'll have to be very careful when they get to his Villa to make sure none of the Kenku are watching.
Liadon speaks only half the truth, there is no need for deception to leave something out. Nevertheless, the truth left in must be convincing enough to prevent further questioning. Liadon states matter-of-factly with sincere sympathy, "You're right, driver, very astute of you. The so-called 'royalty' here treat them as pets, teaching them to mimic spoken sonnets or instrumental quartets. Still others will let them wander their grounds to keep watch and raise alarm. They are typically paid in food or broken trinkets & knick-knacks. It's an amazing talent actually - though a shame they allow themselves to be taken advantage of."
Leshanna would block the door, giving him a raised eyebrow. "It is normally good manners to ask permission to enter a woman's room..." She remarks as she looks up and down the hall. "Why are you following me?"
Dordis sees his mannerisms to be quite pushy, unexpecting of Leshanna to be a woman with this amount of—ego? He was never quite good at talking with women, and preferred to talk with Soltris or his father, male colleagues included when he had studied in Glanyrafon.
He fixes his posture and facial expression to be serious, and replies to Leshanna, "If you have not been listening to me, I wanted to discuss what to do tomorrow. Perhaps we can get the wanted money or, I don't know what it is called, on the vagrant's head? We did kill him, regrettably on my part. Er, if you are willing to let me come into your room, I have a certain task my father can pay well for if you want to help me." his tone shifts to being serious, and there is no wavering in his words. He seems to be serious in what he could be taking on about. "Good manners. Yes. I did not fancy you as a woman who would be like that, but yes. May I come in, Leshanna?" he runs a finger across the bridge of his nose and removes some sweat while he cleans his cloak with a small quaint silk handkerchief.
Leshanna gives a shrug and steps back. "I have my own business here in the city, but I will hear you out on what your task is." Leshanna says, stepping back and letting him enter the room. "As for tomorrow, yes I plan on going with you to receive payment for the vagrant, if there was indeed a price on his head."

"I think it's coming from over there." Voldred points out as he becomes tense. "Keep your guard up, if it's not friendly, and it can fell a tree, we might be in trouble."
THE Crow Bar - Azorha, Leshanna, & Dordis
Dordis Falthenfyern

Corvidae- Castle District
