Storm King's Thunder

As Edgar draws closer to the giant ravens, they seem to pay him no mind. 

Eventually, when Edgar is about a third of the way to the giant ravens, his new telepathic connection with Don will cease working. There seems to be a range limit to the connection.

Ink thinks that perhaps this bone was used as a lever, possibly to help put this giant stones in place.

Don looks slightly upset. "Edgar went away."

He walks over and takes a look at the bone. 

Wisdom: 11

"Yup, that looks like a crowbar to me."

Ink can tell bone is likely to be from a dragon’s leg, and is somehow enchanted.

To his reckoning, Don isn’t so sure about the lever idea.

 Ink, noting Don's confusion says, "Just ask him to come back - he'll hear you."

Flint casts ritual identify on the bone, helps fill in the hole, then goes with ink to the raven statue and casts ritual detect magic when in range.

Flint’s spell reveals that the 14-foot-long, 250-pound bone is from a red dragon’s thigh. The bone was enchanted for use as a giant-sized greatclub.

// The greatclub is considered a magic weapon that requires attainment, and deals an extra 2d8 bludgeoning damage whenever it hits a creature with the dragon type. //

The ritual spellcasting and the hike up to the Raven Rock proper takes a little over half an hour, but Flint’s divining finally reveals an aura of conjuration magic emanating from the ground in front of the giant stone raven.

 Flint describes the aura then collects what's left of the 5 great axes to fabricate 4 shovels and a pickaxe.

Ink calls out to Crownsguard, "Hey Crownsguard! Why don't you give sit with that club a bit and give it a few test swings and see how you like it? Then, come give us a hang over here!"

"Holy hell, Flint.... You could do that? Excellent. Alright, I'm going to clear a path with flaming sphere first... Then," he sighs, "more digging."

Don follows Ink, "Good trick Flint, but I have to agree, it would have been slightly cooler if it were a bit sooner." He picks up the shovel and begins to dig once the sphere has done it's job.

With the flaming sphere spell, the tools, and multiple people working, it takes less than 30 minutes to excavate the magical object from the foot of the Raven Rock. The relic is a ring of hardened magma, sized for a fire giant’s finger.

Edgar summarily returns and gives Don a report, mimicking what he heard from the giant ravens: “Caw, caw! Caw.”

"Learnt  that last  week at th' temple. It takes a lot out o' me tho'." Flint casts ritual identify on the ring then starts filling the hole.

 Ink helps fill in the hole as Flint performs his ritual.

"I bet - seems like stronger magic than I can cast," Ink replies. "Well, at least we saved ourselves from having to buy shovels!"

"And let me know what you find out about that ring," Ink says with a slightly greedy look in his eye.
