Literally what my player asked me the moment they learned quickened spells... "so it means I can do 2 fire balls right?" .. no. Please for the mother of all good things no.

You need to levels of fighter to do that.
Or Quickened Spell a Fireball and also toss a bead from a Necklace of Fireballs. Weeeeee.

I never noticed that. Is this the only magic item that causes a spell to happen without the user casting it? I don't think I've ever seen another one.
If you want to do it with only spells, you can cast Delayed Blast Fireball the turn beforehand, and then you can Quickened Spell a normal Fireball into a bonus action. Then, use your action to throw the bead from the delayed fireball and you've dealt a minimum of 21d6 damage (you can wait more turns with Delayed Blast Fireball or cast with higher spell slots for either spell.) This is allowed because you aren't actually casting another spell; you already cast Delayed Blast Fireball, and throwing it is not casting it again. Boom.
edit: oh man I'm sorry, I didn't realize that this was a necropost :(

No need to spend the sorcery points (or be a Sorcerer at all tbh) because the Delayed Blast Fireball doesn't require an action to blow up, you just end your concentration on the spell (which doesn't cost any kind of action/reaction).
When the spell ends, either because your concentration is broken or because you decide to end it, the bead blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame that spreads around corners.

So what you say works... but it isn't really that big a deal the way I see it. Yeah, you get two fireballs in a turn, but you are spending the turn before to prepare for it, so you get two fireballs in a turn, but you also get two fireballs in two turns. I can see how in the right situation, it could be handy, but in general, it all works out the same.
The only time I've found Delayed Blast Fireball to be effective is in a chase scenario with lots of turns down alleyways that break line of sight.

You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
BONUS ACTION A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven't already taken a bonus action this turn. You can't cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of I action.
But this doesn't prohibit from casting lvled spell for action and then casting spell with bonus action?
Also, how this would interact with concentration part of the spells like "witch bolt" or "vampiric touch"?

Yes it does. It says "during same turn" not "after casting" or "for rest of turn".
It doesn't matter if bonus is first or second, it's all the "same turn" so if you are going to cast a bonus action spell on your turn, any other spell "on same turn" which can be before or after the bonus action spell, can only be a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.

If you want to cast a spell that has a casting time of 1 bonus action, remember that you can’t cast any other spells before or after it on the same turn, except for cantrips with a casting time of 1 action.

Bonus action spells work fine with witch bolt and the likes. Maintaining concentration and using your Action to cause extra damage etc is not casting a spell so you can use your Action to activate a previously cast witch bolt and cast a bonus action spell on the same turn.
Does casting a spell as a bonus action affect reactions such as shield, counterspell, or featherfall? I would assume not, but I'm just asking for clarification.
Also, a grand combo: Quickened Spell Fireball (or whatever) plus a twinned spell cantrip such as Fire Bolt. Works like a charm.

Technically casting a spell as a bonus action does prevent you from also casting a spell as a reaction, but only during your turn.
So if you cast Fireball and then provoke an Opportunity Attack from an enemy, you wouldn't be able to cast Shield if they hit you. But if later that round an enemy walks up and attacks you on their turn you could cast Shield if they hit.
Fangeye nailed it. It does affect your ability to do cast a reaction spell on your turn, but most of the time, shield isn't going to happen during your turn, so you probably won't feel the effects of that limit very often.

It can come up, coming up with shield is rare but it comes up with counterspell quite often.
If you cast fireball (as an action) and the enemy casts counterspell you can counterspell the counterspell
If you cast quicken the fireball (or cast a bonus action spell like misty step) you can not use your reaction to counterspell the counterspell

It lets you Disengage, Dodge, drink a potion, attempt to break a grapple, activate an Immovable Rod...
Casters occasionally have to do things other than cast spells.
ITs called balance...something apparently you know very little about. Don't use it, but don't also expect many to play with you.

No worries, there are no hard rules against it and this was only from a few months ago any way. And it added relevant info.
