Yesterday night was the day my light cleric, Azrael, lost his hand.
We were climbing a frosty, ice-capped mountain and my team were already down one man (couldn't make it that day) we were in high spirits and ready for the adventure ahead. well, apparently not ready enough. Our party got jumped by a young frost dragon, which proceeded to spew out icy fire, and deal 38 damage to everyone EXCEPT me. Fast-forward a bit further, whole team knocked unconscious and I single-hand idly had to fight of the frost dragon. I killed it, but at a cost, my left hand was nom-nomd by the frost dragon. Is there anyway I can get a new hand? (the old one was mangled) My DM thought this was hilarious, And I need to show him I can get a new one and prove him wrong.
TL;DR: Left Hand bitten off, DM laughed at me. Need a new hand, any idea's?
Lose an Arm or a Hand. You can no longer hold anything with two hands, and you can hold only a single object at a time. Magic such as the regenerate spell can restore the lost appendage.
Since you're a cleric, I'd assume that it will be easier for you to find a friendly cleric to cast Regenerate on you than it will be for someone who isn't a cleric.
You can pay for spellcasting, though costs are not explicitly stated in the rules. Unofficially, guidance was released for Adventurer's League play, with the costs figured out in this StackExchange question. Regenerate is a 7th level spell with no consumed material component, so it should cost about 490 gp.
Almost forgot, depending on your background, this is free, for example Acolyte:
Feature: Shelter of the Faithful
As an acolyte, you command the respect of those who share your faith, and you can perform the religious ceremonies of your deity. You and your adventuring companions can expect to receive free healing and care at a temple, shrine, or other established presence of your faith, though you must provide any material components needed for spells. Those who share your religion will support you (but only you) at a modest lifestyle.
I like Tony1Adobe's idea, maybe a warforged arm with an armblade
So as an alternative to the Regenerate that has already been mentioned. Or getting a known special item like Hand of Vecna which specifically is for the left hand.
Hearing about this automatically reminded me of Ersatz Eye from Xanathar's Guide to Everything. I imagine that perhaps there could be a hand equivalent to this that would be cool to have if you could convince your DM that you deserve/need one. Its not a super magic item, so its not overpowered. Maybe a short quest to get one or craft one would be what you'd need from a story-line perspective.

Good luck and may you roll 20's when you need them and 1's when you need a laugh. - myself
Maybe find a patron that grants you a hand as a focus of extra magic powers as you become an Undying Warlock.

Maybe this Frost Dragon bite has left behind part of it's freezing magic that is at war with your fire-filled light cleric nature. If you could only learn to control it, to have a complementary relationship with this cold power, it could be used to form a new hand of clear ice that you can use to replace the one sacrificed to save your friends!
All of your guys recommendations are incredible! really well done!
I'll have a chat with my DM about getting me a new hand, and mention some of these idea's to him.
I didn't choose the Acolyte background, so rip me (chose soldier for my backstory).
I specifically like the idea of my patron (Helm, in this case) to maybe give me a hand? (I was thinking sort of like iron gauntlet.. maybe possessed? can talk? idk) or the Frost Dragon/Ice hand idea ( i thought about an ice hand too!)
Thanks everyone who helped.
PS. Would have loved a clock hand/warforged hand, although there are no builders or makers of such things (that we know of) in the area.
You might also find an artificer to build you some cool new appendage that has hand functionality and maybe some cool James Bond style gadgetry or tools built into it.
If it makes you feel any better, last night my half orc barbarian lost half his dark vision, 5 points of his armor class and became vulnerable to piercing and slashing damage, all permanently. Whew, good times!

Lol, it was a crazy night for sure. We ended up in a labyrinth of one of the 'mad gods' and essentially had to 'play his game' to survive. It'll be interesting playing a purely melee based character with low AC AND he's vulnerable to piercing and slashing damage. A bit of a walking piñata at this point.

This is a definition of 'good times' with which I am utterly unfamiliar.
So a little update, My Dm laughed at me when I voiced some of these (amazing) ideas. Now he calls me "Stumpy". He said the only way I could get my hand back was to cast Regeneration... (Thats it)
He said He may add a possessed hand possibly? but i may need conformation
One of the characters in a game I'm running has already lost and replaced a full arm and several of the fingers on her other hand.
The lost arm occurred in the same encounter that allowed her to receive a magic item I designed that she'd been coveting; this item already allowed her to create a shadow duplicate of herself. I decided that while she was wearing and attuned to the Cloak of Shadows that it would form a shadow-arm for her as well; it's obviously magical, doesn't look natural, but otherwise functions normally.
I'm not normally a kind DM, but it seemed both appropriate and cool.
The lost fingers occurred due to discovery of another magic item I designed, in this case a set of fingers, along with some bits designed as a sleeve, that were intended for installation in a Warforged, and act as a magical toolset for small tools (including thieves' tools). She decided to lop off her fingers in order to install it all on her own.
I'm half thinking of leaving an artificial eye around for her to see what she'll do with it at this point.

From the injury table in DMG:

You might be able to pay for healing services at a temple, but such high level magic will be rare and expensive.
There is also the ring of regeneration.

"Regenerate" is what you're after...but you have a rare oppurtunity to receive an artificial appendage!
You're a light cleric, right?
Strap a mini-cannon to that stump and introduce them to your god.

Or if you are/know a crafter, you could talk to your DM about what it would take to make a robot hand or like a magic prosthesis.

...of course talk to your DM about that idea. :D

Welp, now I guess you can't cast burning hands.
Just kidding, your cleric couldn't cast it anyway.

5 points off AC seems... harsh. What did you do??

So yeah,

Wow...
My DM would never actually give us anything. We'd have to work hard for it.
Nice to see a kind DM.
I'd also be interested in what she would do. I think you have to do it, give her an artificial eye.
Tell me what happens! (if you do it)
