I am currently working on transferring some homebrew subclasses from a PDF i paid for into DnD Beyond and on one of the bard subclasses you are able to select a list of optional upgrades to the class. One such option when chosen gives proficiency with martial weapons, shields, and allows you to pick one of the fighter class fighting styles to use.
In this endeavor, I couldn't find a way to grant my subclass access to the features and as it is already an option in and of itself I cannot (and particularly do not want to) recreate each of the Fighter subclass options. I then turned to copy the Fighter Initiate Feat to see if it could shine a light on how to give this access to my subclass but once I copied it I realized nowhere in it does it show how the feat gives access to the Fighting Styles.
All I could see within the feat was its prerequisite and that is it, so is there a way for me to add the fighting styles as a modifier or am I just kinda out of luck and can't do what I am wanting to do?
Tl;Dr - I want to give subclass access to the Fighter Fighting Styles and the Fighter Initiate Feat is no help. I cannot add them as options as the thing within the subclass granting the Fighting Styles is an option itself. Is there a way for me to add access with a modifier or is it just not possible?
UPDATE:
I have just noticed the same exact issue with the Metamagic Adept feat/Metamagic features and the Eldritch Adept feat/Eldritch Invocation features
Subclass Class Features have options that can set modifiers and add actions. Just recreate the fighting styles in your bard subclass. I threw these together real quick.
Be as thorough as you want and flex your homebrewing knowhow.
It isn’t background magic. Each fighting style has to be hand entered as an individual Option. (That’s how it was done for everything else with fighting styles, like the Champion subclass.)

Thank you for the help! Unfortunately I am looking for a solution that doesn't involve typing them as options as the part of the subclass granting access to these features is an option itself but it seems there isn't a way to do that

Yep, background magic sadly.

It's background magic in the feat (image).
