I tried making a str bow fighter with grt weapon, but it was like it couldn’t recognize I added fighter initiate archery and any bow I added, gives a lesser number. When I tried to look it up, it wouldn’t give a straight forward answer. What is happening? I’m finding out quickly that they’re is no one doing due diligence, such as no one completes eldritch adept or Fighter initiate. Why wasn’t it figured out before any rollout? Why are these support details not polished? Why is no one actively fixing things? Choices that could’ve been gamed out a year ago plus, still sitting there, unresolved.

What's the problem with Eldritch Adept and Fighter Initiate?
edit: additionally, Tasha's Couldron was released 10 weeks ago, not over a year. If this is about its implementation on DDB, keep in mind WotC and Fandom, DDB's owner, are separate companies. Fandom doesn't get any say in what WotC releases and when. They presumably get the info a number of weeks in advance, but the release of material by WotC isn't tied to DDB having been able to implement it fully first.
Also, Javelins. If you want Strength based range, you have to go Javelin.
Darts are also strength if I remember correctly.
Any thrown weapon can use strength, (e.g hand axe, spear, javelin.....) thrown weapons that are also finesse you can choose strength or Dex. Darts are unique as ranged weapons with the finesse property so you have the option of str or dex with them as well.
Page 194 was what I glossed over the first time I tried to find the answer, thanks for the assist. The post just devolved into a rant out of frustration with my own momentary ineptitude at not finding the answer I was sure was there. The fighter initiate, eldritch adept are very problematic but not relevant. My rant still stands about that. How are options not available for them? Why can’t I pick eldritch adept then pick devil sight, why wasn’t figured out before they released tashas so that it would be applied to your online character sheet? Why didn’t they include an ability boost, just +1 point? Physicals for fighter initiate, mental for eldritch adept.
Personally, I'd love a short-range heavy crossbow or dwarven mini-cannon that relied on STR for attack and damage to cover that archetype of the big dumb guy with a big gun. Being quick and dumb just isn't quite the same.
Somebody else already said it, but it doesn't work correctly here because D&DB is a third party. They aren't owned by Wizards of the Coast, and WotC/D&D doesn't need to worry about designing with code constraints. That's up to the other company (D&DB) to solve.

Yup. I do feel DDB is fairly slow with implementing new (and often long-requested) functionality in general, but their hands are tied about what WotC designs and releases.

Yeah, you are so right. That feels more inline with what I’m experiencing and it makes further sense that complains arise but nothing gets done. Why didn’t I see it, of course the third party is muddying the waters. That clears it up for me. Thanks.
For what it's worth, previous editions had composite bows that had minimum strength requirements and let you use your STR vs DEX, but 5e did away with them. All bows/crossbows are DEX only in this edition.

Not exactly - you still used Dex for the attack roll and the damage part came from the bow's strength rating, not the character's Str score.

But it still had a strength prerequisite.
You could use it regardless. If your Str was too low you'd incur a non-proficiency penalty (-2 to attack rolls), but you could use it. The main point is there were never bows you could use with Str as your ability for the attack roll though.

(cross)bows are dex only.

From the PHB, chapter 9, making an attack

I have a weird sense of humor.
