Nori is short of Eleanor, which is more or less the same name Sam gave to one of his kids
Lololol. This goes to show exactly how much of the show I completely zoned out of due to boredom. Also I don’t have Amazon Prime cause my family refused to support them on principle, so I watched it on a stream with a friend on Discord and people were talking at bits so I missed parts.
Okay, got it. I watched it with my mom and dad and I enjoyed it. I liked the harfoots, I liked Elrond, I disliked them tip toeing around Galadriel being... older than the sun and moon. I like Arondir's little story arch, but my favorite by far was the harfoots. Galadriel's was a bit too dramatic for me, but I am really excited for Elrond's
I still think Arondir is kinda pointless cause he’s just doing Galadriel’s plot hook (find evil) for her while she’s mucking around Numenor, the Harfoots are nice even tho the accents suck, I don’t like Elrond, Galadriel is ok but I don’t like that she’s such an egregious contradiction of her lore, and I don’t like Meteor Man cause WIZARDS AREN’T HERE YET JUST LIKE HARFOOTS AREN’T HERE YET AAAAAA
I like Arondir's the least to be honest, Galadriel is cool just for the lore part of it, I enjoyed the Harfoots (I don't care for the accents and I actually find it kinda cute). Elrond is my second favorite after Harfoots (I enjoyed Disa as a character). I don't really care they are changing the lore, they did the same with the movies. Also, I am excited for Metor Man. He might be Tilion!

FYI just so you do realize, the movies change a couple things. That’s it. While RoP simply ignores most of the lore and makes up something completely different (Galadriel and Elrond are great examples, they don’t bear even the slightest resemblance to their actual Tolkien characters), and what little lore they do use they change, often massively.

Hi everyone! I'm working up the will to finalize my signature, so... I guess this will be the signature for now
Out of the four plot lines (Arondir, Galadriel, Nori, and Elrond) what is everyone's favorite and least favorite? For me it is:
1. Nori 2. Elrond 3. Galadriel 4. Arondir
For me it’s Galadriel, cause her plot is cool.
Then Elrond, cause his plot is ok.
Then the Harfoots, cause while they are funny, a story based around a race that runs away from absolutely anything exciting isn’t gonna be very interesting and both the Harfoots and the wizard existing while Tolkien said they definitely didn’t until thousands of years later is the biggest lore destruction of the whole show.
Lastly Arondir, as he is pointless since he’s just doing Galadriel’s plot point for her while she’s busy on a side plot and instead of just making him an elf, he’s so obviously just there to be an allegory for black guys, with racist white dudes yelling at him that his people suck. That kind of obviously meta scene has no place in a Tolkien adaptation whatsoever. It totally breaks immersion. If you’re going to have black elves, they should be treated as normal elves Amazon. Having them be an allegory for the real world is actually racist, Amazon. Their skin colour should not matter, they’re just another elf. This is what happens when one of the evilest companies on the planet try to pretend they care about BLM.
Elrond being a politician is understandible. He was raised by maedhros (the person who convicted the feanoreans to stick with Fingolfin) and maglor, his brother was a king, and his mentor was a high king. He founded Rivendell so at least he is a monarch, along with being probably behind the last alliance. Do remember that people change in 3,000 years, even elves.
Galadriel (in some drafts) went to Beleriand independently of Feanor to seek adventure, and even in the silmarillion, she only goes because of being a glory seeker. Now what did she do in the first age? Nothing. So now she sees her chance, to do what her brother and nephew couldn't/won't do. She was the person that lead the attack that destroyed Dol Guldor, her family are all fighters and epic kings, what stops her from being one?

Galadriel is cool, I agree
I can understand Elrond, although I enjoy Durin
I see those points. Also the blue wizards might of gone to middle earth in the second age.
If it doesn't matter about the skin color, why do you make such a big deal out of it?

Elrond is EXPLICITLY STATED to be Gil-Galad’s herald (general/warrior), not a politician at this time.
Galadriel is EXPLICITLY STATED to be royalty who is hanging out in Lindon and most definitely not going on an adventure to find Sauron, being anywhere near Numenor, travelling to Valinor, or doing ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING that she does in the show.
Let’s stop talking about lore now cause this is when I want to reban this topic and go burn down the RoP set.

One last three points.
1. Why not be both? A warrior-leader 2. Why not give some artistic license. It never said anyone didn't go to numenor. The Lord of the Rings movies did that, so can RoG 3. Maybe this all is on purpose, maybe Bilbo and Frodo wrote the red book with their biases, saying that since Galadriel was a queen, she didn't fight. Maybe they were just ignorant. Maybe Ælfwine/Eriol mistranslated stuff with his biases

It's fine, I guess. The elves all look creepy, why does Finrod or whoever he is hug an orc in the shot before we see his body?, and Elrond and Galadriel would be better as random new elves being created for the show. The characters are okay, but they aren't Elrond or Galadriel. Calling them that is the problem. The fight with the troll is bad, because the elves do absolutely nothing while it kills them and look perfectly fine the next scene.
WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH LEIRDALAG'S DAGGER? She's holding it when she jumps off of the boat, but her hands are empty while she's swimming. Before she gets on the raft, it's in her hand again. Then she brushes hair out of her eye with the same hand. Later, when she's sinking, the dagger has ended up sheathed.
This is probably violating the ban on big rants, but I can hopefully get around it by focusing on technical issues.

2. Cause having Galadriel be somewhere she most irrefutably isn’t is not artistic license, it’s a direct contradiction of the lore.
3. Cause it’s Tolkien who said all this, last time I checked Bilbo didn’t write the Silmarillion.

FYI just so you do realize, the TV change a couple things. That's it. While RoP simply ignores lore (Barrow Wrights, Tom Bombadil, attacks on Lothlorien, scaring of the shire) and makes up something completely different (Aragorn and Famiar are great exampls, they don't bear even the slightest resemblance to theiractual Tolkien characters), and what little lore they do use they change, often massively
Hi everyone! I'm working up the will to finalize my signature, so... I guess this will be the signature for now
For me it’s Galadriel, cause her plot is cool.

Note: Both of these are my takes on the characters

A warrior-leader
2. Why not give some artistic license. It never said anyone didn't go to numenor. The Lord of the Rings movies did that, so can RoG
3. Maybe this all is on purpose, maybe Bilbo and Frodo wrote the red book with their biases, saying that since Galadriel was a queen, she didn't fight. Maybe they were just ignorant. Maybe Ælfwine/Eriol mistranslated stuff with his biases

1. Elrond, just because my brain is bothered by the lack of rings of power and I want someone to get around to making them.
2. Galadriel. Eh. It should get better with Numenor.
3. Nori.
4. The one with the burrowing orc thing. It doesn't feel like Tolkien at all.
I have a weird sense of humor.

RoP Musings:

1. Cause it says he isn’t.
2. Cause having Galadriel be somewhere she most irrefutably isn’t is not artistic license, it’s a direct contradiction of the lore.
3. Cause it’s Tolkien who said all this, last time I checked Bilbo didn’t write the Silmarillion.
End of conversation or this thing is banned completely.

I can understand all of that, and I understand that the arondir plot doesn’t feel like Tolkien
