Hey, It's me, RaccoonMaster! I'm back! I disappeared for a while there, and I'm very sporadic when I'm online lol.
I'm an actor, writer, singer (opera, musical theatre, and rock are my preferred genres), backpacker, and tall person (6'5 and counting). Pronouns are whatever, I mostly use They/Them though.
My Characters: Elsenia Selevarum:The Popular Paladin, Aasimar Noble, Level 4 Paladin of Redemption;
Ok, so, for those who remember, a long time ago, in a land far, far away (not really, it was a couple of months ago in this thread) I assigned the active participants in the thread each a race and class based off of their personality (or the part of it i could conceive) and their post style. we've had a few members join and I've gotten to know the veterans of this thread better, so Imma do an overhaul. feel free to use these as legendary adventurers in your world (thats what i'm doing)
-WoodsGirl0402: firbolg trickery cleric. they have a strange obsession with spiders, arachnophobes beware.
I love this! I’m actually scared of spiders in real life, but not so scared that I don’t recognize they perform a useful function in the environment.
i'll let you in on a secret: you're a trickery cleric cause that is Lolth's divine domain

When the settlers found it, the celestial guide who led them there told them it was called Spot. She could see it from above and had a sense of humor, as all celestials do. Didn't tell anyone why it was called that. Many theories arose: Someone spotted it from the homeland; it was the spot where something happened; it was one tiny spot on the vast map to come; the word "spot" means something else in the celestial language. At least one prophet has been killed for uncovering the truth.
I loVe, making official.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft and Forgotten Realms. My pronouns are she/they.
What do y'all think of this idea: if we want a new story, then we make it collabrative. we start a thread in Story & Lore, and then we each write a paragraph about what happens next in the story. we'd take turns in the same manner as QOTD and write like a paragraph or two that builds off the previous story. if someone new reads the story, they can join this thread and after I get a feel for them I can give them a character and they could join in, so that way we get more people to join this thread, and grow our cool (if i do say so myself) little community.

-AEDorsay: Wood Elf Transmutation Wizard. A former writer whose books were so popular that every time they went into a city they got mobbed, so they took up adventuring. they wear artfully torn robes that were mangled by the paparazzi.
This is such a good and humorous concept. Love the idea of one party member being extremely famous but not for adventuring.
It's probably because I'm a critic as much as I'm a creator, but I'm perpetually enchanted by characters who are or can be interpreted as creatives. I love the Bard concept so much but I really don't feel like D&D's Bard has ever even approached doing it justice. But I digress

Yeah, bards & monks have always been very hard for me to give good flavor and backstory too. like, you can play music, why the frick are you going in dank dungeon with no audience when you could be making money. monks are supposed to be eastern in a western fantasy game, so its just like "why are you here? you don't belond" thats why so many people reflavor them. i personally have a great idea for a Dwarf Astral Self Monk who was once a crafter who lost both arms in an accident but trained themselves through sheer force of will to use magic to manifest 2 magic arms. they need arms because they have to finish their masterpiece.

-SirTawmis: Beasthide Shifter Battlemaster Fighter. a grizzled veteran of war with a love for colorful, illustrated stories.
-ChoirOfFire: Tiefling Eloquence Bard/Fiend Warlock. a former human acolyte of a sun god, who caught the attention of an archdevil who made a bargain with them to expose the church of its misdeeds. so they became a tiefling & burned the church to the ground.
-Fry_Doodles: Goblin Scribes Wizard. they use drawings to make magic, and could cast 9th level spells if they wanted, except for 1 thing. the more powerful the spell, the longer the drawing takes to make, and they are too impatient to finish a drawing and end up frying the doodles with fire bolt
-IAmSposta: A minotaur genie warlock. a unicorn headed genie who is their own patron, who during a time of disaster and mayhem, took a group of refugees into their sanctuary where they were safe. very bad at giving advice, never let them become a therapist.
-DrakenBrine: Dragonborn Fathomless warlock. a topaz dragonborn who fell in love with a curropted kelpie (beatiful lady made of seaweed), so the kelpie granted them powers in exchange for serving their dark whims
-Gnomarchy: forest gnome assasin rogue. a revolutionary whose sentences are as short as their targets lives
-KayakingPoodle: Gnoll Ranger. they are a protecter of boats who travels up and down the river, keeping the beasties away from the boats filled with shipments
-Quar1on: Aarakocra lunar sorcerer. there three forms correspond with their three different spellcasting focuses: an origami duck (new moon), a pair of scissors (Crescent), & a moon rock (full).
-WoodsGirl0402: firbolg trickery cleric. they have a strange obsession with spiders, arachnophobes beware.
-Nothic2SeeHere2: not a character, but rather an NPC nothic that pops up from time to time and gives strangely good advice in the form of cracking dad jokes.
-Wsyperra: a willowisp (reskinned fairy with telekinetic feat) shepherd druid. they are friends with many small forest animals such as rabbits & rats
-The_summoning_dark: unknown race shadow sorcerer. a skeletally thin, tall figure whose features are hidden by a grinning white mask, they disappear sometimes and then return. its strange, but once they return, an NPC always get murdered, and the_summoning_dark knows exactly where to find the body
If i forget anyone let me know!

Hahahahahahahahah... That may be my fault. From the previous version - when I wrote stories based on the characters provided.

its a reference to your original character, the satyr bard who was really bad at inspiring people
HHAHAH - I should have read the next post. That's what I figured as well.
For the new folks in the thread - and the previous story of characters... Here you go... if you're really, really, really, really bored and want to read a story that is very, very, very, very silly.
The Map:
Note: The thing with the map is I was only filling it out as the story demanded it. So all that vacant area was unused in the story.
I was going to repost the original story but hit this fun error - Must be within 1 and 100000 characters long.
So instead here's links to the various segments in this thread...
I am going to come back and say stuff about the new characters and all, but right now I am dealing with a bit of disappointment that Wizards hasn't even seemed to make mention of one of the folks that helped to make D&D what it is today going through a hard period right now.
Jennell Jaquays has been in the hospital for weeks, and only recently came off a respirator.
She has some serious medical issues going on, and this interrupts her update to one of the most key books of all time from 3rd party people: citybook.
