What is a new race/species/whatever you want to call it, that you would like to see introduced into D&D as playable?
I'd like to see something like a Wolfkin. Similar to the Tabaxi, but with wolf traits. Unlike claws, it could get advantage on attacks, if a companion is 5 feet (to mimic pack tactics)

A pack tactics race would be so powerful, but honestly is in line with the stupid Astral elf free misty step and other broken features. But as a concept ABSOLUTELY there's several cat-like races and no canine ones which is so bizarre.

A wolfkin sounds like an interesting idea. Pack tactics sounds a bit op for a player character, though.
Me personally, I'd like to see... Well, I can't think of any ideas off the top of my head, so I'd say the wolfkin.

I absolutely loved the first article, so thanks for linking it! Murder Mysteries are awesome, and there's a really cool adventure called Affair on the Concordant Express (from Candlekeep Mysteries) with one. I also love to recommend THIS video on murder mysteries and intend to begin making one shortly... But I never seem to get around to things like that that involve work and creativity lol.
And I only skimmed through the article on sports in D&D, though I find the topic interesting and have always wanted to make an overcomplicated version of armwrestling. I guess I could make that and make a DMs Guild and post it there for free, though it'd be a funny first thing to post tbh.

I love drawing from all sorts of things. History like the Revolutionary War, Lewis and Clark, Haitian history, and more. Different cultural things like Appalachian folklore and Swing. I draw deeply from folklore, legends, and mythology a whole lot.
Then there are inspiring literary works and artists that I love to use. Neil Gaiman, Mike Mignola, Andrew Peterson, N. D. Wilson, LotR, Terry Pratchett, etc.

I’d like to see either a species of aquatic squid people or a species that can tunnel through the Underdark like a mole. I haven’t thought much more deeply about it than that.

I would like to see a good plant race similar to the leshy in pathfinder, a skeleton race, a mind flayer themed species, and a playable bullywug race.
It is weird to me that there isn't a dog species yet, but I don't really want one. I can play a shifter or blood hunter if I want a werewolf character, and there are already so many animal races that the average Dnd party looks like it came from Zootopia. Wolves are also overused in fantasy. I'm not saying one shouldn't be made because the more official content the better, but it isn't something I'm really wanting.

It would be cool to see players given burrowing speed and tremor sense. Those abilities are not used enough.

DINOSAURMEN!!!! We can have categories for carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, etc. But dinos are awesome so I would love to see a playable species that's just about dinos! :)

I agree. Paleo-fantasy is an underused genre with great potential.
DM's: do you have a favorite monster to roleplay? I get that you shouldn't fill a dungeon with the same creature over and over, but is there one that when you do play it you enjoy it more then others? Is it some insane creature so you can show off your maniacal laughter? A very strong and intimidating creature to see the look on your players faces when you say it's coming towards them? Or (dare I say one of the best) a gibbering mouther for an excuse to say complete gibberish?
Players: what is your favorite type of character to play? A healer, a tank, a damage dealer, that kinda stuff.

Beholders and Battlemaster fighters, respectively. Beholders are my all-time favorite aberration, and i love their 'I am the epitome of my kind and you die if you think otherwise' attitude, and battlemaster fighters are really diverse and are absolute tanks at level 20. I always get the Tough feat, meaning you increase the HP of the fighter by their level x2, meaning 40 points at 20th.

I'm known as CptKurn nearly everywhere but here.
Do not ask me about anything I like because I WILL waffle on for half an hour.

As a DM, my favorite monsters to rp are dragons, but I really like to use a diverse group of monsters when I run an adventure. As a player, my favorite character class is wizard because they’re so versatile, but again I’ve also played other characters as well. I’m drawn to sorcerers and warlocks more for their rp potential and backstory than for how useful they are in the game.

Well, to name one: I have a continent with influences from both Avatars (elements and blue cat people) as well as the Dark crystal. Basically, Its an elemental themed continent being invaded by technologically advanced "aliens" (really, they are just humans). Note: never get an Aquanion (water people) and an Radian (Light people) in the same room. it will not go well at all.

I think to help limit the pack tactics - I'd say it'd have to be melee. This would prevented ranged wolfkin from taking advantage of it.
The idea would be melee, like a wolf's pack's attacking.
