The Rapture is really an odd idea to me. It seems like most Christians don't believe in it, as Vitus mentioned. Very Evangelical sort of thing

Yeah, and plus, i know quite a few Christians that aren’t good people who act like the rapture will take them to heaven. Also this should not be taken as an attack on religion, as i have good friends who are Christian, as with all things like religion, there are bad people who make the good ones look bad too.

yeah I don't believe in the Rapture. I don't really understand how anyone got the idea that just suddenly all the Christians would disappear from what Revelation says.
Out of curiosity, y'all, any good recommendations for level 1 one-shots?
I never played it, and it’s not for D&D, but I remember hearing about Sailors On The Starless Sea and thinking what a great one shot/beginner adventure this sounds like. It’s for level zero, so idk if that would work for how you’re game, but if you just mean 1st session by level 1 it could work. Bob world Builder did a video on it which is how I found out (I think it was like, “this beginner adventure will blow your mind!” I know that sounds a bit clickbaity but it’s a good video from what I remember. I’m I found a free pdf online but that may no longer be available

He said pre-tribulation, which basically means that the world has gone far enough to [GP] since it’s not the apocalypse yet.
I might just be an idiot, but that’s kinda confusing.
the world has gone far enough to shit, since it’s not the apocalypse yet?
This is what I’m getting from what you said:
Jesus said pre tribulation. (As opposed to what idk, I guess instead of saying rapture?)
Pre tribulation means the world has gone far enough to shit, since it’s not the apocalypse yet. (No idea what that’s getting at, he thinks the world has gone to shit, but it’s not the apocalypse yet, so he’s gonna come down and kill all the sinners and have all the followers come to heaven?)
I know most of this is probably jsut me being tired and and not that intelligent, but if you could clarify that would be cool

Ah, the problem of missing a few letters. I meant to say hasnt gone far enough to shit. As in it’s going to get worse before the rapture. From what I can remember, it will literally be the apocalypse, and then we all get judged. Also Jesus doesn’t kill them. They just go to hell. Like how ascending and dying arent necessarily one and the same. Hopes that clears things up

For me, I will admit I'm not the best-versed on End-Times eschatology. So it is possible I might have mixed up some terms.
But generally Rapture theology (as in popular media) is 1. Rapture. Believers are taken to Heaven. (pre-Tribulation) 2. Things go real bad. (Tribulation.) 3. Second Coming.
Whereas a more traditional look at things. Has the Second Coming at the end with believers going through the hardships. Although there's also diversity of thought IIRC.
Though in general I don't really think about the end-times too much. My favorite looks at Revelation have had to do with the Mass (Scott Hahn's The Lamb's Supper as an example) or with Mary. (Brant Pitre's Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary is interesting. Rev 11:19 and 12:1-6 are full of stuff.) IMO the warnings to be ready are better applied in our lives with things like car accidents or sudden heart attacks than worrying about the end-times.

In this case probably won't be looking to learn a new system yet. (One of the guys I've gotten is someone I've been playing D&D with and even he will forget rules. Like I'm still not sure if he remember Warlocks [which he plays] have spell slots...)

I love to imagine that halfway through a devastating battle he just realizes he has all his spells slots, like, “oh yeah, forgot I could do that. ” And then the entire tide of the fight changes

LoL.
I think there's been like two or three times he asked about spell slots. (Over the course of ~3 years, granted we're not always the most regular.)
When he was DMing and I was running his character for a little while, ended up using those spell slots a lot more.
