Makes me think of a scene from the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy series where they're at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe and a cow-thing comes out talking itself up as part of the menu. Because people had genetically engineered farm animals to want to be eaten. Arthur is like, "I think I might just have vegetables" and the cow-thing is like, "Uh... sure? But the vegetables didn't want to be eaten... unlike me! Seriously it's no problem. I can just go in the back and off myself real easy!"
