You can still use the subclass without publishing it, as can anyone in a campaign with you.
The restrictions on publishing homebrew subclasses mean that you cannot include homebrew spells with them.
We'd like to make that possible in the future, but it will need development to be able to specify "Hey, you'll need these homebrew spells too for this to work." and so forth.
I thought you could map your own public homebrew spells onto a subclass and could still publish the subclass. I have definitely done that in the past with Warlock.
hggpi, do you have any official (ie. published by Wizards in a book) spells mapped to it? If they aren't from the Basic Rules or Elemental Evil companion, that would also throw that error.

Maybe! I don't think it's supposed to work though. 😊

The warning specifies “unpublished homebrew spells,” as long as those spells are published, the subclass can be published. Like this: https://www.dndbeyond.com/subclasses/330562-anima-sol-revised
You can test it yourself.
