What I am wondering is if you bought a physical book could there be a way to get a digital one and vise versa with the new bundles coming out? And if there would be some way to do it I think you could take a picture of the book/books with your DnD beyond username and then you can get that book/books for free.
If it is purchased as part of a physical/digital bundle, a code will be sent to the email address you provide at checkout. If it is not purchased as part of a bundle, there is no way to redeem the book. A photo is not sufficient. A unique code is required.

DND Beyond Staff: I love the idea of a consolidated Physical Digital purchase.
You guys are insane if you think I'd pay $12.99 Shipping. OUTRAGEOUS. What a joke saying that shipping becomes free at $99 on a standalone purchase that doesnt meet that threshhold. Serious miss guys.
I've don't think I've ever even seen one of these "bundles" before. We shouldn't have to pay for a book twice just to be able to use it on here. I understand about a "unique code" to prevent people from "scamming the system", but paying for something twice is absolutely ridiculous. If we've purchased the book, there should be some way to unlock the digital copy here for use, otherwise, there becomes no point in buying one or the other.
This is exactly what I meant. The only way I could think of that wouldn’t break the system would be sending a physical version of the book if you bought it digitally because they could check but sadly that would be more work for them.
Ya sillvva, I understand that I just want some way to do it because I got the physical version of the dungeon masters guide and monster manual and I just wanted a way to have them also on digital.

Solution for this: you buy a physical book, inside the cover there’s a QR code or digital code you input/scan on the app and wala! Both forms. It isn’t that hard.. if magic can have physical and digital codes for packs why can’t these expensive books do the same?

How do you stop people from cracking the spine at a book store and scanning that code?
dont sell them at book stores with the codes. ones like on amazon or the direct store. Alternatively, if you have to sell these at book stores, have a code that goes on the receipt like how gamestop does

Wizards of the Coast already does this option via dndstore.wizards.com. There you can buy physical/digital bundles where you'll be emailed a redemption code for D&D Beyond on purchase of the bundle

It should be noted that this option will not honor bundle discounts.
Avoiding the "X% off all future purchases" might be part of why they don't sell them on Beyond.
You can hold it in your hand and flip through the pages.
🤣 - good thing I wasn't taking a sip of my drink.

I assume you mean how do you know if your purchasing a physical copy? If you're purchasing on dndbeyond it's always digital - physical bundle options are available on dndstore.wizards.com as per Davyd above.

Second this, ripping off the people who've supported you for umpteen million editions already seems pretty freaking greedy.

Not sure if this is the right forum, but maybe.
If I previously have purchased digital books, can I get a discount on the corresponding physical books?
At this moment in time no. This could change but, my personal guess is, I don't think this sort of thing would be a possibility in the future.
The current Physical & Digital Bundles that are being offered at the moment benefit people who haven't bought either a Physical or a Digital version.
