I've brought up blowguns in the past, I have a character who is using one in a campaign.
DnDBeyond places the damage of a blowgun at exactly 1 point damage. I assumed this to be correct, because it was primarily a poison delivery device in my mind.
Yesterday though my DM asks why aren't you adding your Dex bonus to the damage? My answer was just "because DnDBeyond doesn't let you."
But after researching all over the internet, I can't find any reason why this should be the case. A blowgun is a ranged weapon, ranged weapons should add in your Dex bonus to the damage.
Is this a bug? Or is there something I'm missing?

I am verifying this is a bug, and not just the way blowguns are designed on the General forum, but as far as I can tell, blowguns are ranged weapons, anmd ranged weapoins let you add your Dex bonus to the damage dealt.
But in DnDBeyond, blowguns only let you do 1 damage, regardless of your Dex bonus. Is this a bug?

The PHB says: 'You roll the damage die or dice, add any modifiers, and apply the damage to your target.'
The blowgun doesn't actually need you to roll a damage die.
Depending on how you interpret it, it could be considered correct that you don't add the bonus damage from your Dexterity. However, whether this is intended or not I don't know.
(Edit: Fun fact, kensei monks can choose blowguns to be a monk weapon, and thus turn its damage from anywhere between 1d4 and 1d10.)

But this makes blowguns an underpowered weapon. Only dealing 1 damage, no one wants to have one.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but to me I always thought of them as a) a subterfuge weapon that could be easily hidden or mistaken as something innocuous, and b) a poison delivery device, so the posion is where you are seeing the real damage value. But I'm not saying I wouldn't want to have the additional Dex bonus too.

By that theory, an unarmed strike would just be 1 point of damage, however you add your strength modifier to unarmed strikes (obviously not talking monk unarmed). I'm 99% sure that Blowguns should have Dex bonus added, just trying to hunt for where I've seen it come up in Sage advice before.

Tagging this as a bug. Thanks for reporting.

Wow, that's an interesting interpretation, but I can definitely see that being the case. Well, I guess I'll let my DM make the ruling.

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of
Until than, ROGUE, you could just use the "Customize" feature on a blowgun attack to add your Dexterity modifier.

Yeh I will do that if my DM rules to let me add it.

Does this include net?
A net does no damage, so therefore there is no damage roll. Since there is no damage roll, there is nothing to add your Dex mod to.
