In the Equipment list, there is no information on how much damage versatile weapons do when wielded with two hands. It shows that they have the versatile property, and has information on what that means, but nothing is listed about the damage.
Well now the problem is it only increases the die by 2 even on a weapon that was already 2 handed. Trying to make a versatile glaive that acts like a spear when 1 handed, but versatile only ever gives me 1d10(1d12).

D&D Beyond will treat the versatile property of any weapon the same way it treats the versatile property for existing weapons. Unless Wizards of the Coast creates a weapon that uses the versatile property differently, that's how it will work.

Well that's kind of a lazy way to interpret and implement versatility, especially when it's in the Homebrew section. A lighter-made 2h weapon should have the ability to become versatile just like a 1h weapon would be able to be swung harder with 2 hands. They have all of the fields to do it correctly in the add modifier area, and no where does it say versatile just adds a straight +2 to the die, it only says it can be used with 1 or 2 hands with differing damage rolls. "Versatile. This weapon can be used with one or two hands. A damage value in parentheses appears with the property — the damage when the weapon is used with two hands to make a melee attack."
I know they won’t read that way when you look at them, but they do work on the character sheet.
I am hella confused now, but thanks a lot I will check out those items!
I try to make a 1d8 +str weapon in one hand and 2d6 + str weapon in 2 hands, so this might be tricky. But I will get there eventually.
Is there any way to just manually put stuff into an item that shows in the char sheet under "notes", like thrown, versetail, etc? the "notes" field seams to .. not do that

So do I understand this correctly, i cannot make a weapon with Versatile that makes 2d6 when held in both hands (like a greatsword)?
I try this for.. to long now and cant make it work, its always just 1d10
To do that you need to start with a weapon that does 2d4 like the Double-Bladed Scimitar and you end up with this: https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/1743876-mighty-longsword. Don’t worry, until they finish their upgrades to the homebrew creator the “special” features don’t work on the character sheet anyway, and once the do finish it you will be able to make it as a 2d4 Longsword so it won’t negatively affect anything. Or you can go bigbig with it and start with a Greatsword and you get this: https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/1530877-kroms-sword
I know they won’t read that way when you look at them, but they do work on the character sheet.

This is progressing from “bugs” to “homebrew.” Post about it in that forum and I will do my best to help you.
