Please give us the option to display things like Background, Background Feature, Backstory, ect in the shared version of character sheets. Unless we can already do this somehow...?
Like what's the point of writing a backstory and ideals and stuff if you can't show them to anybody?
Because most of those things should be explored in character via roleplaying instead of just "hey guys look at this 20 page backstory" (a little hyperbolic on my example, I know)
This is a fair point although I mostly mean in terms of showing the character sheet to a dm, since they're usually the only other person to see it and knowing backgrounds/backstory, ect... is a good way to help build characters into a story - at least, it is in my opinion. Hence why I feel it should be an optional extra when sharing a sheet.

if the character is in a DDB campaign via the campaign link, the DM can see it all without any changes needing to be made.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"

Would be nice to be able to use homebrews of other authors as a template for your own homebrews
I think that would be fine if you were not allowed to publish those, just to avoid having a bunch of nearly-identical copies, and to encourage originality. But if you wanted to tweak someone else's work for your own campaign, I think that would be cool.
It would be nice to have a little animation when you delete your character sheet such as the sheet opens and then curls up in flames or something of the sort. Just to add a little more Drama to when you make a new character when the old one dies and such occasions
This has been something I was hoping for but seems to be pushed forth more with RotF. Can we have support for Blessings, Charms, and Boons? Even if they are an optional rule, they have been showing up in Hardcovers as rewards. The amount in RotF is kind of ridiculous and I would love if DnD Beyond supported it.
Edit: Nevermind, I see now that it is in the works. I just think the idea that it is an optional rule is less and less true when it becomes the mechanic of every hardcover.
I think it would be nice if there was an ability to create homebrewed mundane items, like books and inks.
I have written a few, but it would be nice if my players could add them to their inventory and see the flavour text. I think should work somewhat like how you make magic items, just in 'mundane' way :)

It would be nice. And I think they plan to get to it eventually. For now, you could just create them as wondrous items that don’t require attunement.

It would nice if the generic information in the item headers (i.e. "Armor (leather)" or "short sword") was clickable to the base stats of that item/weapon.
Character creation is fine but it lists Acid Arrow as well as Melf's Acid Arrow in your spell list. Granted I can just erase the one when I save and edit my character sheet but I shouldnt have to deal with double spells. Due to different names for the same spell. Or am I the only one seeing this?
I made a sample druid with the swamp circle of lands and it listed the spell twice.
I would like to see an improvement in how 'At Higher Levels' can be applied to homebrew spells.
I want an option called 'Extended Range' that adds a fixed value of feet to the spells range. Note this is not the same as the option 'Extended Area' that already exists as it will not affect the spells range, only its area.
I would also like the option 'Extended Duration' to be able to modify the 'Notes' next to the spell that says. For instance 'D: 1m' and when hovered over expands into 'Concentration, up to 1 minute Duration'. Which becomes 'Ext. Duration 2m' and 'Concentration, up to 2 minute Duration' when hovered over.
I’d like to see DDB post articles more frequently and written on a wider variety of topics. Like more articles about interesting multi-classing builds, old campaign settings, DM advice, community spotlights, etc. And also written by a wider variety of authors, specifically women and BIPOC.
For when the VTT is tackled, but these mostly stem from the idea that “as a DM, I dont want my mechanical interactions with the application to slow down the game.”
- As a DM I want persistent and up-to-date visibility into the players key information (HP, AC, spell slots if they have any) so that I can make adjustments in realtime, without having to tap/click into each player to learn more.
- As a DM, I want to be able to easily hand over items (equipment, gold, whatever) from an available list to players in my campaign so that they can instantly “get” something that I say theyve acquired. (This as opposed to saying “uh look it up in the items and add it to your inventory” OR taking me as the DM out of the moment by having to manually do it in the middle of the game).
- As a DM I want to be able to easily SHOW my players a thing, be it an item, an image, an NPC, etc. so that they have a point of reference PROVIDED to them.
- As a DM I want to be able to easily add new content to a battlemap (ex. Dancing Lights), without having to first create a custom asset to upload and find, etc. so as to not slow downa combat encounter
- As a DM I want to be able to easily understand what my players can and cannot see on a battlemap, so as to avoid situations like “oh well i see this thing, what is it?” in situations where something being visible is purely a product of me not being able to see approrpiate vision boundaries
Please add an exclude source(s) to the search filter. Acquisitions Inc is fun and all, but I don't use it in every campaign and would like to hide that content when searching for spells, monsters, etc.
I second more exclusions, especially the Elemental Evil stuff. Even if it would appear on the Sourcebooks area of the site. I had to download it but having the ability to filter out the spells when creating your character would be nice.

Ahhh, I didn't realise this, fair enough.
I'd like to see a way in the combat tracker to keep track of things like enemy spell slots or 1/day, 3/day abilities. That sort of thing.

Can you add a lycanthrope and vampire infection option to players character sheets so that it auto changes it as if they were infected?
Could we also have the option to "add" items to a bag of holding or other such object so they didn't count as weight
That's a good idea! I'll do that for now then :)
I do hope they add it as a separate feature!
