Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My brain is basically a Bag of Holding filled with Blink Dogs & Displacer Beasts.
I'm sure this has been requested already, but on the off chance it hasn't: The option to create folders for built characters.
I currently have 85 characters, however half of them are either NPCs for campaigns I'm DMing, or just What If versions of my PCs at higher levels. So being able to organize them by the intent of their creation would make things a lot cleaner (not to mention it also gives me a way to hide certain NPCs from my players if they happen to see my character list)
You are able to add more than one character from your list to the same campaign. All you need to do is take the link to the campaign and pop it into a browser. It will bring up your list of characters and you can select another character. You would have to do this for each character you wanted to add. However, everyone would be able to see all of the characters added at this time.
Well I might as well join in here, there are a few things I would really like to see and while I am sure some probably have been requested before, consider this as a +1 for those.
- a way to create homebrew rules, much like backgrounds, races, etc. just simply having a place to store your own houserules and then add them to a campaign where applicable so your players can check them out would be very nice.
- A way to more easily create humanoid NPCs so rather than having to manually write up the name of all the spells in the text box, just make them selectable similar to the creation of a normal character but without the extra stuff of the normal character creator that really isn't necessary for creating an NPC.
- A way to add NPCs as such to a campaign rather than as a character
- (this one is a stretch but would still be nice) a way to mange relationships between characters and the above mentioned NPCs
- a shopping system where you can prepare for example a small weapons shop with a certain inventory and can use it to let players buy and sell items (probably with a popup for the DM to adjust the earlier entered price in case of haggling). You could then have a small weapons shop, a big weapons shop, a trinket shop, etc. all prepared and just gotta bring up the one that's appropriate, showing your players the available choices and letting them easily add it to their inventory.
- the ability to add DM notes to characters/NPCs in a campaign
- more granular control over what content is and is not available, either during character creation, level up or even with content sharing, so only the optional rules or bits of a source book that you want or are even relevant will be available
Yes. I am aware of, and use this feature. However, as a DM this is not helpful. Hence my request.
If you make them “private characters” then the players will see them as attached to the party and will be able to see their name, race and class data, but that’s it. They wouldn’t be able to see the actual character sheet itself, just the banner info and only on the campaign page. (It’s still not exactly what you want, but it is better than a swift kick to the dangly bits.)
With all the kickstarters adding new campaign settings, classes and races. The possibility to homebrew new classes would be more then welcome in D&DB. If i'm right, sub classes only can be homebrew right now.
With the option to Homebrew magic items, can there also be an option to create homebrews for equipment (non-magic items).
For example if I wanted to create a weapon (a cutlass, saber, katana, etc) that is like a rapier in which it does 1d8 damage and has finesse, but does slashing damage instead of piercing. Or a weapon like chakrams, that work like the boomerang weapon but can also be monk weapons.
Or create different kind of tools (firearm kit, gasoline, new gaming sets, etc) that certain classes or backgrounds can gain proficiency with.
I want to be able to put containers in other containers IE place a coin purse in my bag of holding or backpack. Currently any container cannot be placed in another container

It would be swell if we could [SELECT] multiple homebews and then [ADD/REMOVE TO/FROM COLLECTION] all at once.
That would help for those of us who have much homebrew for camping we DM, but also play in other peoples’ campaigns. If I could add what I need to Wednesday evenings and remove it again after the session that would clean things up for the DMs I play under.

Yes, please let just be able to create equipment.
Oh God, for the love of all things could we PLEASE make this available. This has been a request for such a long time now, since the inception of the homebrew system on DNDBeyond. It is something this is integral to play for so many groups, if not the majority of groups and campaigns set in homebrew worlds. This feature is an absolute must at this point. We can't even create or use some mentioned items in sourcebooks and adventures because of a lack of this system.

Being able to create mundane weapons/armor would be great, but as far as other equipment, the Custom Item feature can handle pretty much whatever is needed.
I didn't go back beyond this page, so this might have been brought up before, but PLEASE, once these new NPC stat blocks come out, give us the option to use the old style. I have a strong preference against the spellcasting method that they use in the new ones.
I don't know if it would be possible but it be really nice if we could have the option to choose sections that we want to use from the old. I'm strongly against the new spellcasting but I like that they've gotten away from intrinsic racial alignments and some other changes, but the new spell casting will make me not use the new ones despite any benefits added otherwise.

Yeah 100% i need this, Some of my players are not to good with D&DB , so telling them to customize an item is a game ending job.
This would make the game run better as I have some players who are not great with Beyond and the more I can prep the smoother the game runs.
I want to be able to put containers in other containers IE place a coin purse in my bag of holding or backpack. Currently any container cannot be placed in another container
yep, need this one please
Better homebrew collection management.
