hi, i was wondering for the subclass, how to i properly imput damage equals class level + cha modifier? any help would be greatly appreciated
Is this an action, aura, reaction, automatic damage, what?
There is no modifier for what you want so it's just description box, then possibly adding the Action if it is an action, bonus action or reaction and it is useful to use this if this is a limited use ability.
In description you'd state it does Character Level + Cha mod in damage and in snippets put in it does {{characterlevel + modifier:cha #unsigned}} damage.
We can help with the Action stuff if you describe what it is you want the feature to do.
hi, so {{characterlevel + modifier:cha #unsigned}} is what i was looking for thank you. would you be able to help me with another matter? for the final skill im trying to do this:
Morosko's Cloak: at the cost of 4 sorcery points you will grow in size from a medium to a large creature. your reach and walking speed will increase by 5ft, and gain the effects of armor of agathys cast at 7th LVL
im not quite sure how to input this one as it adds some so much, some of which is covered by a spell. thanks for your time
sorry one more matter :Starting at 14th level, all your weapons and spells that are thunder or cold-based can add your charisma modifier to the damage. im unsure how to make cha add to only ice and lightning and melee weapons
One of the features I'm adding to a subclass is an Expanded Spell List. I'm having trouble getting the spells to show up after clicking Manage Spells on the character sheet. The subclass is for Warlock and at level 1 I want to add Command and Shield to the list of available spells. I chose Add A Spell, chose Command and Shield, and chose 1 for Available At Character Level. Do I need to fill in another box to have it show up in the character sheet? Or do I need to make the spells homebrew as well and add a tag for Warlock?

I think you just need to add them as additional spells. That's it.
When making a magic item how do i make it a +1 to attack and not to damage?
I don’t think you can. The homebrew tools are based on the tools the developers used to create the official items and are limited to the kinds of options they needed for those. There are no official magic weapons—at least none from the early 5e books—that do that
Is there a way to homebrew a fighter class able to be a full caster or is that still not a thing yet? I know I can create subclass now and I'm trying to make an arcane archer with access to the full warlock table, but I've only figured out how to allow all spells at all levels, or no spells at all. To try figuring out how to create an Arcane Archer Warlock, I've tried revers engineering the Arcane Trickster (rogue) subclass, but I've entered all the details I can see in a homebrew but my created class doesn't have the same abilities/scaling. What am I missing?
I assume "{{modifier:str}}" is for showing my strength modifier bonus in a snippet.
What if I want it to show a DC based on strength? How do I do that?
And, are there any similar options?
Sure, you should use {{savedc:str}}
As for other snippets:
{{spellattack}} - your spell "to hit" {{scalevalue}} - a class-specific value, such as Rage Damage for a barbarian {{modifier:str}} - a modifier for an ability score (str, dex, con, int, wis, cha) {{savedc:str}} - generates your Save DC using the specified ability modifier (str, dex, con, int, wis, cha) {{fixedvalue}} - the fixed number from the feature or trait {{classlevel}} - level in the contextual class {{characterlevel}} - total character level {{proficiency}} - your proficiency bonus {{maxhp}} - your maximum hit points {{limiteduse}} - total number of uses for the contextual feature or trait
Is it possible to do ½ profiency or other calculations using these?
You can use calculations, so yes. {{proficiency/2}} should do it. So, if you want to model a strength-based skill with jack of all trades, that would be {{modifier:str+proficiency/2}}.
Hey, I think I'm missing something really obvious, but is there a way to lock modifiers or actions within a class feature behind levels?
The closest implemented example I can think of is how tieflings get a cantrip at 1st level, a certain spell once per long rest at 3rd, and another at 5th. These are all condensed in the Legacy feature and pop up automatically.
Yes and no. Or sort of. You have to do it with the magic item homebrew system even if it isn’t a magic item. You can’t change damage dice, but you can change damage type. So start with a weapon that does the right damage dice even if the damage type is wrong. And I don’t think you can change simple/martial or ranged/melee either, but I haven’t messed around with the homebrew system much.

do you know how to add ignores resistance
You should just type it in. DDB can't yet calculate things that break the scope of your character sheet.

Sorry if this has been discussed but how do i make a custom spell usable for my players? It isn't showing up as available spells or anything.
It needs to be public homebrew or shared in a campaign.

Also, the characters need to have homebrew turned on for their characters

got it all figured out, they turned off the homebrew and I made an error in the spell so it wasn't showing where it needed to. Thanks for the help

I haven't tested this, but it should work.

I cannot find the answer to this. It is probably super-obvious. Answer appreciated please.
How do I rate a homebrew?
I wanted to give a + to one I am using from someone else, but have no idea how to do it.
